Snug's bite animation launches survivors

SUMMARY OF ISSUE: While messing around with Houndmaster in customs, my friends and I encountered a bug with Snug’s bite animation and bite attack. If a survivor goes from Deep Wound to the downed state mid-bite animation, Snug continues the biting animation and stays visually attached to the survivor even after the killer picks them up. It was just a funny visual glitch until we realized that if the killer drops the survivor, they are launched in the direction Snug was pulling them during the bite animation. Survivors will ping-pong at high speeds around the map or get launched outside of map boundaries and/or into the sky, smacking the height limit.

Additionally, but less easy to reproduce, if The Houndmaster hooks a survivor while Snug is still attached, the hooked survivor experiences a visual bug where they appear to drift away from the hook, and they are unable to attempt self unhook. If another survivor taps the unhook action, they are teleported to the hooked survivor’s drifted location. When being unhooked, the survivor will stand in a random position away from the hook instead of their expected location directly under the hook.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

  1. As The Houndmaster, send Snug to bite a survivor.
  2. Ensure the survivor goes from the Deep Wound state to the downed state mid-bite animation.
  3. Pick up the survivor while Snug is still in the biting animation.
  4. Drop the survivor to launch them.
  5. Or, immediately hook the survivor to have the hooked survivor see the visual bug.


I’ve added video footage to show exactly what this bug looks like and how it happens. The clips include both the survivor launch issue and the hook drift and teleportation bug. Let me know if you need anything else from me!
