Shoulder the Burden can be incredibly strong, and will probably eventually get nerfed. How?
StB, while amazing for combatting tunnelling, protecting a friend in a round, etc. has the potential to be problematic if Killers don't do any of those things. It is especially problematic in SWF, where you can coordinate a lot of inability to hook at all if you want. Forcing a Killer to 8hook before they kill anyone is extremely powerful, and perhaps even puts too much power into Survivor hands surrounding hooks. I don't think it's game breaking, but it has the potential to be too strong especially for M1 and non-mobility Killers that often rely on pressuring hooks to handle.
It's becoming more obvious the more I play with this perk and against it, it will need another nerf or some way to prevent it being used aggressively on Killers playing fairly. I think the best option would be this: It only works once, and if one person uses it then it deactivates the entire rest of the trial for anyone else. That or we get a long cooldown or some kind of qualifier to activate it, like Dead Hard has.
I don't see how else you could make this perk function, feel fair, or help when half the Killer roster is only mildly inconvenienced by it and the other half is hit very hard by it. It really seems as if Killers HAVE to sweat when this perk is in play, HAVE to slug, HAVE to camp hooks. I mean, this perk has the potential to hit non-tunnelling Killers as well as tunnelling ones, and to increase slugs as a result. It also has the potential to skyrocket Survivors to an MMR they really can't handle, or to enable Survivors to play in griefy, trollish ways that tarnish the experience for anyone who just wants a fair round.
Thoughts? I love that we can just do this to help tunnelled players but I don't like that now Survs can control gens, hooks, and totems with this much ease. It seems like it's got potential to create some very nasty metas that could be almost as bad as MFT or the 3 gen meta if not kept under control now. It's likely to be nerfed again. But how would you do it? Let's discuss this.
