A new in trial perk mechanic should be added similar to the obsession and hexes to make more perks
my favorite perk mechanic is the obsession . Every trial it’s there and it could be used a bunch or not. Fun perks like furtive chase, pwyf, stbfl, rancor, gameafoot, ftte, nemesis ( syngeries well with others ) are so cool. All these perks are all here because of the obsession mechanic. Hexes too when they were added with the hag. I don’t like hexes too much and I think they need an overall QOL update but no doubt it’s a genius mechanic that birthed plenty of fun perks. Scourge hooks are a personal favorite and glad a new scourge hook was added that looks like a bandaid perk to add more in the future. There are plenty of failed mechanics that need a major look at. Boons are largely ignored even though there not that bad. Invocations seem to be headed in a bad direction with being injured all game being the con with every perk instead of a per perk basis. Teamwork perks obviously have been dead on arrival . I think dbd needs a new mechanic on the same lines as the obsession and hexes. Something present in every game but not used every game. Totems, the obsession and scourge hooks are largely more important to the killer than survivors with most of the failed perk types being on survivor. Exhaustion perk type is also genius since strong perks like DH and SB would be so strong but the 2nd closest successful type are boons. Mechanics like this opens so much perk design and would love to see something like this again. On a side note wouldn’t it be cool if obsession perks were styled like other perk types like Obsession: Save the best for last or if exhaustion perks were named Exhaustion: Dramaturgy. Bet it would help new players
