I was able to play for around 3-4 days again. And now as of writing this comment the problem is back. It’s so weird so many of us are from TX and have spectrum. It has to be BHVR or our ISP.

Same issue for me since yesterday (ps4, initialization error even after restarting a dozen times) except I am not from Texas (Ukraine actually) and have a different ISP (not spectrum). The Hotspot trick worked for me too, but I'd rather not use up limited data like that...
This is definitely not just ISP issues, something is up with BHVR's servers too!

I'm in California with spectrum, haven't been able to log in for weeks.
I tried reinstalling and resetting my router, no luck.

I’m in west tn and have gotten this problem reoccurring for several days. Sometimes I can get in lobby and play a few games but then the server will crash, I’ll get sent back to the lobby screen, I click on a role and it won’t let me queue on either side. Ps5. This game is so cooked right now.

This issue was happening for me in early January, then my game came back after the Bone Chill event was over. Now as of today, with Chaos Shuffle, I’m having issues with the game loading again. I think the issue might be event related. So frustrating!

It was working on the 10th, but just went put again today around 8pm Austin time and now getting the same errors. Exact same issue as I posted here on the 9th

Its the only game I have a problem with, and it's every PS5 in my house. Not sure why this has been here since the beginning of the year and there's no fix or solution.

it seems like it errors out around the same time everyday. I got on this morning and was able to play fine. Now it’s 730 central time and I’m getting the same error. Everything else internet related on my ps5 works fine EXCEPT dbd

I was able to play last night for a few hours. No issues. I was able to play on my laptop today just fine, still can't log in on my ps5 though

Exact same issue for me. The game won’t load and it gives me a different error message each time. This has been happening since early January. I am beyond frustrated.

the issue is back for me as well. also from tx using spectrum. i also could not play the last of the bone chill and it randomly started working again and now a week later it is not working. Same save game error and instillation error messages keep popping up.

yep it worked this morning for about 30 minutes and then around 10am, it disconnected and now errors are back. Now, playing on the cell hotspot so forgive me for a 500ms ping 😩

BHVR PLEEEEEASEEEEEEE fix this. There are people who don’t have spectrum who have this issue, as stated in the replies. So freaking frustrating

I literally cannot play dbd in the afternoon it’s so odd. In the morning it loads fine. No errors. The minute it goes beyond 6pm cst I can’t connect to anything even though everything else that requires internet on my ps5 works fine.

Ok I found a fix in this down detector thread if you have att internet and you’re on ps5. Apparently it is an issue with psn. https://downdetector.com/status/playstation-network/

here is is February 6th and I’m having this issue, however I am on an Xbox Series X… I do not have spectrum but I am from Texas. I was able to play up until the 8.5.1 Stable release and since then I have not been able to play the game whatsoever. Been getting nothing but an initialization error and behavior has said nothing about it.

update, I just tried logging into the game with my alt account and it worked flawlessly… so it’s not my internet connection. It is something wrong with the game and certain accounts. Behavior needs to get on this ASAP!!!!

PSN dropped and now the issue has arisen once again. I’m starting to think this is an issue BHVR doesn’t want to acknowledge. As soon as PSN had its outage the same bs internet errors occurred. As of 3PM CST my PSN is running fine. But I still can’t log into DBD. This is getting ridiculous. WE ALL PAY MONEY FOR THIS.

I have an update on my issue, so yes I’m on Xbox series X but I want someone to try this fix on their PlayStation. Remove about 20 ish friends that you don’t talk to or play with anymore and try booting up the game. I just removed 30 ish people on my friends list on my Xbox and the game booted up without saying “initialization error” or “connection error” let me know if it works cause it could be a temporary fix. As we should not have to remove friends just to play the game.

Hi All, I have been having this same problem since mid last year I think and cannot get this game to work ( Steam/PC) I have uninstalled reinstalled and even had my DSL router replaced but still no joy. My son and girlfriend have no problems. I looked all over the internet to try and see what may fix this problem.0 -
Hello, any lovely developers that stumble on this, I get the “INITIALIZATION ERROR, The game has initialized incorrectly and may not save your game properly. Restarting your game may resolve the problem.” Well I’d like to add to the mindless nothing is working with: Restarting, clearing the cache, unplugging and cycling the router and modem does not work. I know this for fact and including that I would like to add that if you log in to a new/alternate account in the same game instance as your main, all of a sudden you can play on the alt but still not the account getting the error, this is on Bhvrs side this is an individual issue per player and with bhvrs saving system
