Three things that would help fix DBD

- Add other objectives to DBD a long with doing generators. And give players enough BP to allow them to progress in the game a little, even if they don't escape or the survivors do gens super fast. I don't care whether it's finding herbs, collecting cursed spirit orbs, kicking deranged entity sculptures, collecting fungi, etc. Anything that gives people something to focus on to feel like they can accomplish something, even if a match is going horribly and they know they are going to lose.
2. Let people get bp or do challenges or tomes in custom matches. Players already get these benefits from playing against bots in public matches anyway. If public matches are getting to be too frustrating for someone but they still want to enjoy progressing the game their own way, they should be able to do so in custom matches. It's still playing the game. There should also be bot killers in customs so survivors can also make use of this choice.
3. There's needs to be more things in place that promote friendly behavior and good will in the game. Make the thumbs up button mean something by giving the praised player extra bp during rank reset each month. Give EXTRA bp for things like altruism or spacing out hooks, protection hits, hooking someone after downing them, leaving the hook area, or just staying in the game until it's over.
The idea is to reward people for continuing to play the game in a way that helps people feel better as a whole regardless of which side they are playing on. And alienating the least amount of players in doing so.

I disagree with giving survivors more to do. It’s passive gen slowdown which is an enormous buff for killers. Giving survivors something else to do with the kill rate and killer gameplay loop as it is just means survivors die more often. That isn’t fair for survivors. Killers that come with secondary objectives already have higher than average kill rates, and we know the global kill rate is high.
I like the idea of earning tome challenge rewards in custom games but I sense this would deeply hurt queue times. It’s frustrating when (let’s face it, survivors because that is the only role that consistently requires one side to either throw the match completely or play in a bizarre way to complete challenges) players are focused on completing tomes when you want a normal game, but splitting this off will just make things worse.
Survivors need an overhaul and boost to the amount of bloodpoints they receive period.

To 1. A different Objective would only make sense if the Gen Time also decreases. You are not writing this, but I hope you assume this. 90 seconds Gens AND looking for parts as an Objective (for example) would be way too much. The Speed of Generators is not too fast, so anything added as a mandatory Objective would need to reduce the time it takes to do Generators. BPs from other sources are not really needed IMO. If you add more Side Objectives, people will do them instead of Gens. And you cannot really afford it nowadays as Survivor to do the Side Objectives (e.g. Totems) anyway, so adding more of them would either mean that Survivors would ignore them anyway OR they would do this instead of Gens, which would make it even harder to survive in SoloQ. In general the BP-gain for Survivors should be increased, as Killer you gain BP in all categories automatically, as Survivor you have to compete with others.
In general I still think that the category Caps need to go. It always hurts a bit when I have max in Objective, but almost no Altruism, but still have to do Gens which dont really benefit me anymore. This would also help out some Killers, since some Killers have a hard time getting Deviousness-BPs.
To 2. Nah. I think Custom Games should just be for friends to play against each other. Custom Games should allow for more customization, like special Rules or so. I also think that Custom Games should have the existing gamemodes (like Lights Out and Chaos Shuffle) available to choose from. But I dont want Custom Games to help with progression in any way, it would just lead to people not playing the regular queue or doing Challenges without actually having to do a Challenge. Stuff like getting 3 Unhooks in a single game can take some time, but it would be way too easy in custom games.
To 3. Yeah, would be nice. But I dont really think that it would do much. I think I have never given a Thumbs Up at all during my time playing DBD, simply because it does not do anything. And I dont really think I would really remember doing it when it would do something. But could be an option, even tho it should obviously not be possible for SWFs to thumb up each other.

- i would all agree on additional objectives, but it seems like average player in dbd mostly wants to sit on a gen, hold M1 and then leave (you can also see this when hex perks are in play, people always dislike them (even when there isn't Penti).
- BHVR is planning to add BP gains into custom matches to encourage scrims and tournaments more (probably due to them not being able to implement ranked yet)
- Absolutely agree.

The first point is always misinterpreted like you did.
Killers want an "alternate objective" that just boils down to extra time waste. This is usually brought up as "extra stuff for survivors to do that is mandatory to escaping, in addition to generators, that has no detriment to the killer and that also provides zero benefit to the survivors". Which is usually just an awful lot of words to say "more gens".
Survivors want an "alternate objective" that means "something that isn't staring at a progress bar" for most of the game. Usually, this is something like a scavenger hunt that would replace gens as the objective.
Hexes, like you mentioned, are the mostly the first one, btw. Although people seem to want the time waste of finding and cleansing the hex, but without losing the hex effect (detriment to the killer).

Survivor gameplay outside chases is very boring. The chests are also a very outdated and boring mechanic that gives nothing to survivors. This down here is how I would rework survivors objective. Of course, Killer/survivor generator perks and toolboxes would require nerfs to adjust to these changes:
Brand new part now is a Limited item and no longer a toolbox addon. Gen repair time goes from 90s to 70s. When gens reach 50%, they cannot continue to be repaired until a Brand new part is installed. Brand new parts are found in chests with red padlocks, there are 7 on the map which are revealed to killers with red auras. Base regression speed from 0,25c/s to 0,5c/s and kincking extra regression from 5% to 8%. Gens can regress to 0% even with Brand new parts installed.
Unlocking red padlocks takes 30s and every 2 seconds very difficult skillchecks (the Overcharge kind) appear. Hitting them grants 10% extra progress, failing them doesn't remove progress but still causes a loude noise notification. Survivors picking up Brand new parts are revealed briefly by killer instinct. Survivors can see the aura of dropped Brand new parts from anywhere on the map. To install them, a (up, down, left, right) minigame of 10 steps need to be completed.
Note = Chucky and The Unknown could have the ability to hide inside normal/red padlock chests and Freddy could trap them in some way. Meanwhile Pig reverse beartraps would activate when a gen reaches 50% or is completely repaired
