10 easy to implement things to make DBD way better in 2025

  • I keep writing this post since late december, but how amazed I was, when I went on Scott's stream today and saw this: At least 5 same points, so probably in few days he will upload a video and it will look like I just took ideas from his video, but honestly, it only highlights how much community wants these things and BHVR needs to implement this things asap.

    So I read my old post about what changes I expect to see in game and honestly, I feel like 2024 was really lazy and lame year on really needed QoL changes. We got many perks changed to decent state, some changes barely anyone asked about, but that's all. Another year without things people are keep asking for years and years.
    So if devs busy with adding progress bar on HUD to chest, I came up with really useful changes, which should take 1 working day overall to ONE good coder and maybe some additional days to other teams. Nothing what will impact balance or needs a lot of testing. Just take it and do it.

    1. Increasing BP cap to 10M

I remember some dev long time ago explained why we have only 2M BP cap and excuse was just super poor. I can't say it super accurately, but something like "oh we don't want people instantly reach high prestige on PTB" or something extremely stupid like this. Truth is 10M BP cap will make literally Z E R O problems. You know this, I know this, everyone knows this. Every event all I do every two matches is "oh, I will reach cap soon, I need to spend it or I need to just spend 10 minutes to waste it all". Cmon, stop with these made up excuses for things which should be in the game 5 years already.

2. Ways to spend BP faster

Talking about "I need to spend 10 minutes to waste 2M BP". I don't know why I should waste pretty close amount of time compared to actually gameplay in this game just to press one button to waste my BPs. Solutions:
– "Spend all my BP" button with option to choose 3 items/addons which Bloodweb will prefer
– Shorten Bloodweb animations. They are sooooooo long now, I feel how I waste my life and not BP while looking at them
– Auto-bloodweb works infinitely (as long as you have BPs) and don't stop every level

3. Teammates perks on ESC button in match


"…in years"… Maybe it's time, BHVR? How many YEARS has it been from this AMA? Two? Time to add this little thing which mobile had from the start and for YEARS. Surely chest progress on the HUD is more important and I understand why it was more important to add this and not thing which community waits for YEARS. (No)

4. Decrease unhook attempts to 1

1 unhook attempt in last 10 seconds of 1st hook stage as last hope tool. Not as "free go next without any punishment tool". We need finally end this give up epidemic.
I know it's hot topic, Peanits (with all my love and respect to him) has huge L take that "people will find other ways to give up and it's consequence of the reason of people don't want to play the game". There are some things:
– Literally every single little aspect of the game is the reason to go next. I don't like this map, this killer, this perk, this addon, this offering, this first chase, this playstyle, this teammate, this item, that player outplayed me, I'm not in the mood to go against this, I can't make my archive in this match. #########, I had a lot of teammates gave up in a matches we already almost won. It's ridiculous to believe these are viable reason to give up and ruin match to other 4 player and it's delusional to believe you can "fix the reason", as Mr. Peanits said. There is the only one thing you need to fix: "I can go next whenever I want" mentality you pushed for 8 years.
– Every minute of player trying to find another way to leave a match is the time player won't ruin another match. That's why I always slug people, if they gave up early.
It's honestly shame we need to discuss and wait this, when literally every online game has it as default and absolute norm.

5. Map offerings.

Should I say something here? They should be reworked in one way or another. Make it 10-15% chance instead of 100%, make it cancel realm, make it… anything you want, but don't left them in the state they are currently in.

We all know this game won't see voice chat ever, but somehow DBD Mobile solved this problem years ago AGAIN.



7. In-game and aftermatch stats


Another thing mobile had years ago: post-game stats. I think we should really start motivate survivors to improve their gameplay and explain to them that it's TEAM ORIENTED game on their side, so showing how much efforts everyone put into win attempts is a good start. It's also very interesting post-game analyzing tool.
What about in-game stats: why send emails with poor statistic, when all these and way more other numbers can easily be showed in your profile?

8. 2v1 situations

It's issue on both sides, which should be solved long time ago as well. Killers slug one survivor and try to find last one, survivors stealth for 20-40 minutes in hope to be last one and find hatch.
I can't find other solution on survivor side than faster bleed out option, because there are a lot of things in the game, which says to you "You need 4k only": adepts, archives, even daily sometimes.
On killer side I think there should be survivors aura/killer instinct in 2v1 situations, if they don't progress x amount of gen for x amount of time.

9. Make maps less RNG dependent


What I mean by that? Well, every map has minimal and maximal amount of pallets, which can be spawned and I think this difference should be a really small.
Best example is Cowshed map, which I saw with insane rng for survivors with pallet nearly every meter, and with like 6 pallets across whole map. Do we need these extremes? Obviously, no. Why there should be situations, where on the same map can be 6 pallets and 16 pallets? Make it so there always will be 8-12 pallets on Cowshed, for example. And there are a lot of maps like this. You can't really say that some map lean on one side or another, simply because existing extremes just make it pointless. I don't really know if there should be bigger work other than just change numbers in the code, but anyway.

10. Rework/remove unhealthy and stupid archives/daily/archivements

Get 4 kills in basement? Do you believe there can be match like this without making it completely miserable for survivors? Because no way I can win it without camping basement with killer, who good at it.
5 attacks with fully charged shred? Can we finally remove this "fully charged"?
Stun killer with pallet 4 times IN ONE TRIAL? Can we see someone on devs team complete this one on stream please?
Escape against Vecna with his legendary item? How about add third random element here and add "only on Thursday 15th"? Sounds good to me.
Unhook survivor who unhooked you earlier? Avoid killer's m1 attack after dh rework? It's not a challenge, it's you just wait it out when you will lucky enough to complete such challenges, you can't affect them in most cases.
It's just few examples, but there are still A LOT of stupid things, which definately create unfun/stupid/boring/random gameplay. It's not hard to improve it.

    BP Cap and faster spending would be so great, especialy when the Rank resets happens or we get a big BP event. I really love to leving up my characters but spending BP is so broing.

    Seeing other teammates perks and have the option for quick messages would be so great for SoloQ. They need these big QoL changes/buff because they are weakest in the game and feels for both sides bad when losing or winning due to SoloQ or have a boring matches due to SoloQ issues.

    1 unhook atempt: Year, reducing the options to leave a game earlier is always good. Of cause, the survivor can still run to the killer but then the killer has the option to slug them and either this one dcs or plays the game.

    ingame stats would be nice but I don't think they have a high priority since stats are nice but not always refect the reality.

    2v1 situation: Year, they are awful for both sides. The survivor who gets slugged for 4minutes while the killer wants the 4K or the survivors who hide for 20minutes both can be so awful.

    Less RNG: I played competitive Pokémon by smogon rules for a long time. Everyone who plays Pokémon knows how much RNG this game has (we call it hax) and sometimes you can lose or win a match just by RNG and it feels awful. DbD has a similar issue: Sometimes one side gets a great RNG which already makes a huge difference - e.g. Lerries can become really nasty with the right window spawns or the new Yamako has also nasty RNG. Meanwhile, there are maps like RPD or Eyrie which have a reliable RNG and you trust them. On top of that, some maps are bugged and can get a RNG that shouldn't happen like more fillers on McMillen or only these unique Coldwind Farm tiles. Making maps less RNG/more reliable enables an easier way to balance the game.

    Year, some archives and achivements just suck. The developers said in a stream that they want to rework dailies but I wonder what happend to this.

    Map offerings: I will die on a hill for it but map offerings need to go or get a rework to decrease the chances instead of increasing it. They are currently the biggest balance and health issue in the game.

    Yesterday, I got so many map offerings with Ormond and three BL, Azaroth and MacMillen with the most boring-meta survivor builds and the only thing that was missing, was, me getting a message from the survivors how I should play the match and play a CJ with them. Then, I used brown Hands and because the survivors couldn't go to their maps, they gave up immediately. It is so stupid that you, as a killer, either has to eat ######### or a miserable match. I know, killers can use map offerings too and make the match miserable for survivors, but the chances for a survivor offering is four times higher and when the killer gives up due to denied map, the game is over for everyone but when one survivor gives up, the game becomes miserable for the other four. I also don't want to use brown hands or map offering - I wanna use my cakes and BPS. I also don't understand what is the point of the Realm Repeat Prevention Sytem when a player can choose their map to get an unfair advantage and I can see Eyrie or McMillen five times in a row.

    One thing that I would add is a filter option or at least the option to make the game brighter or darker. I don't have any issues with my eyes and play on PC but even for me, McMillen, Azaroth, and especially the Borgo maps are so damn dark that you barely see anything - Imagen playing on console or TV with some sunlight. Meanwhile, Eyrie burns your eyes with its brightness. Since so many years, games have the option to increase or decrease the brightness but not this game. BHVR needs so improve their accessibility in this game.
