Best Survivors to purchase?

I'm trying to play survivor more and want to know what I should spend my "hard earned cash" on because I don't know that many good perks to use

A general tip first, if you're spending cash, spend it on licensed survivors. Otherwise, buy characters with shards if you have them available. The Shrine of Secrets is not worth it, much smarter to just buy characters and prestige them. Spending shards on characters is one of the most efficient ways to spend them, and will save you tons of cash in the long run. At least if you want the most bang for your buck.

As for what characters to buy, I'll assume you don't have any unlocked outside of the free ones. Try going for these ones first as you also prestige your other survivors to P1 at least. I'd start with Kate and Feng. They've very cheap and have good perks:

• Kate for Windows of Opportunity
• Feng for Lithe and Alert
• Laurie (Licensed) for Decisive Strike
• Zarina for Off the Record

With just these characters you'll have a great selection of perks. And don't forget to level the free characters to at least P1, there's tons of extremely good free character perks like Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Sprint Burst, Iron Will, and general perks too.

Mooks

the best perks are mostly free ones (eg on Meg Adrenaline, Sprint Burst) and it Friends on your playstyle of course, also which Platform are you on as some survs are included in the basegame on consoles that are not on PC..

Some noteworthy survs/perks:

Feng Min: Lithe and Alert are very solid perks, Technician can be helpful for beginners that struggle with hitting skill checks

Kate: WoO is Great to learn maps/placements or helps in soloq to know where there are still pallets to run to, Dance with Me can be fun and interesting with Lithe (and Quick and Quiet)

Laurie Strode: licensed Char so only available with auric cells/real money, Decisive Strike is still a good anti Tunnel perk, Sole Survivor can come in clutch especially in soloq when you are the last one standing

Zarina Kassir: Off the Record is also Great anti tunnel, For the People can be strong but needs coordination and can backfire if used in the wrong way

Ellen Ripley: also licensed, no essential perks but IMO all can be fun and used interestingly

Leon Kennedy/Jill Valentine: imo interesting for Flash Bang or Blast Mine

But you can find at least one good/useful/fun perk on most survivors, and consider using shards on non-licensed survs if you got enough

Already have Ellen shes really fun and I think she is really good actually very underrated
