Rare Items in Chests
Holy crap, I get that rare items are cool to get--but the recent buff to them has been insane. Literally every match I have has one or two hatch keys in it now. I was just playing a match where I was actually doing really well and had everyone on their last hooks with two gens left--but YOU GUESSED IT. Hatch key! This keeps happening across matches and it's crazy demoralizing while playing killer, which is already a demoralizing role.
& Even if they don't spawn in with 1 or 2 hatch keys, they find them during the match, so every match ends with early hatch escapes. #########? The balance here really needs to be fixed.

I play as killer and survivor. It's easy to be excited as survivor and face palm as killer. The real question is why the developer decided this would be a good permanent change. There are arguably more survivor players than killers that make up the current player base. That being said the "overwhelming positive feedback" should not come as a surprise.
This change might not seem so survivor sided if the killer was also given a 'better chance at something' though unsure of what that could be. I try to accept goofy changes all around, though I understand your frustration with this change. Playing as survivor, using the 'treasure chest' perk build works just fine when purposely looking for better items.
Again, this is a lopsided addition, but something will come along to balance things out in this regard. Maybe?!

I maintain that this change was simply reckless. There was little balance reason to implement rare items in chests. "It feels awesome to get a rare item" is not valid justification to punish the killer for a lucky dice roll.
Not to mention, with plundere's instinct very rare items are actually extremely common.
If we want to leave this in, at the very least the numbers should be decreased GREATLY.

And yet the best item i did find (without any of chest perk) was a green flashlight. Woo!
