Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

No Mither & Broken Status effect Changes

I would like to know if other people think killers need to be able to see if a survivor is broken even if its a survivor perk that inflicts it. I understand it's information and that alone can be your reasoning to further decide what to do, but is there more? Do you miss out on something because you don't have the info? Does it change how you play?

I ask this with a few perks in mind. And want to propose a couple changes to NM and 'Broken' status.

  1. No Mither
  2. Deliverance
  3. FTP

What if it was made so survivor perks that inflict broken like no-mither, deliverance, and FTP didn't show for the killer, and only to the survivors? Broken will obviously be shown to killers if they inflict it via power or add-on.

No mither is obviously a long standing meme perk but not for the right reasons... what if it was the exact same perk but with an activation condition of being hit? You start the game healthy and the perk is not in effect but as soon as you're hit it activates and you get the benefits.

Why? You need both changes in not starting the game broken AND you need to safeguard from killers instantly finding out as soon as youre hit once and become broken. Don't get hit all game? No harm, no foul. But now the killer has to be conscious about you having the perk if they want to slug and hunt for others. This makes the perk more usable because i could very well just not heal or i may have resilience. It creates strategy.

I don't think it has much effect, and certainly doesn't redeem the perk at all, but imo no mither should start the survivor as healthy and make them permanently broken the first time they are injured by any means.

It would eliminate part of the perk that screams "tunnel me" right as the match starts without really buffing the perk in a meaningful way.

I don't think it's inherently bad to show the broken status in general though.

I think the Broken status effects is fine except for the Invocation perks and No Mither. The Invocation perks should be charged from the rest of the trial to 120 or 180 seconds. and No Mither should be You start the Trial injured and Broken for 90 seconds. When you lose a health state you become Broken for 90 seconds. You keep everything else about the perk.

Alternatively I think because no mither is David's perk that it should let you use Dead Hard without being Hooked.

I think it helps it's usability. But showing the killer they are broken as soon as they're hit that first time is literally the same thing as what you said you don't want: "tunnel me please." If I start healthy and you can't see broken status when it's my perk doing it, you can't know that its no mither, resilience, or just solo q things. There's a bit of a mind game at that point. You'd see more value in a 2 v 1 situation if you're slugged, or if someone goes for a pallet/flashlight save and lures the killer in.
