We need a just leave solution
It feels like whenever I have a match that doesn't go well I have to wait for a few minutes after they open the gate for them to leave. It's just a waste of time for everyone and I know even if I go there I'm not going to get anything. Maybe have a decreased collapse time so they have to leave sooner. I don't want to just wait around so they can wait and talk bag as soon as I come within eyesight.

You mean like survivors have the just leave ability when 1 survivor remains and is down? They abandon to skip the mori or being hooked. This is being debated a fair bit in another thread lol

i think op means exit gate tbagging wich is a fair point to bring up

I'm going to be honest I was way too heated lol. I do think the abandon feature needs some work but I was making a mountain out of a mole hill

Go push them out with your attacks
It only lasts minutes and is frustrating because you are letting it happen. Dont let the heat get to you, the end of the match doesnt define the entirety of what happened.
Can even go break walls/pallets if thats too much3 -
I completely understand not wanting to wait around, especially when it feels like the match is over and you’re just stuck watching potential showboating at the gate. I think it’s similar to how some players skip the mori. Once the outcome feels set, many people just want to move on.
The tricky part with abandonment is that everyone has a different threshold for when it’s “justified.” Because of that, a lot of the current system feels subjective…? And it probably shouldn’t be.
Personally, I think if you abandon a match, no matter the reason or role, it should be counted as a loss. Giving up is still giving up, even if you’re slugged for four minutes or stuck at the gate during EGC. Wanting to leave is understandable, but the ability to do so early shouldn’t be treated like a neutral outcome or a soft win. The anti-hiding mechanic and the anti-slug mechanic upcoming will take care of the only legitimate reasons I think to ever abandon a match. I don’t like the way the abandoned features are counted right now.
I’d rather those base-kit solutions or new concepts that encourage new endgame builds or perks, something that gives killers tools to manage gate gameplay. Because when the killer leaves, that’s it. There’s no bot to replace them like when survivors DC, the game just ends super abruptly, just a sudden stop. And that doesn’t feel good for anyone.

i am a peak pinnacle Killer Main, i am the definition of a Killer Main in dbd. and and i don't approve of this complaint, also i mean tho too… you're free to leave match anytime you want

This is why I run an end game build with blood Warden. If you get lucky you might get her them again.

I would love a perk for that.

Go chase them out if you want to save time or go AFK if you're sensitive to BM.
The solutions are already there.

If the exit gates are opened, and the killer "Abandons" the game, it should just count as if everyone remaining escaped. Yes, you could just go chase them out, but I think this would be a fine QOL addition.

Agreed. There's no reason not to implement this. I don't care about it, but teabagging at the gate is one of the most common killer complaints. If at least one gate is open and all remaining survivors are in an unblocked gate, the killer should get an abandon option after maybe 20 seconds (so console survivors can celebrate together if they want since they don't have post-game chat).
That update would have essentially no negative impact, and would probably improve community morale overall. And the coding for it should be pretty easy.

If the gates are opened, The Killer should be able to leave early if they wish. On the other hand, it's two minutes, so this may not be a priority for the devs. Alternatively, if The Killer exits during EGC, the server should allow the Trial to continue for those remaining two minutes.

We have ridiculous abandon feature for survivors, might as well grant one for killers too

Take the headphones off, turn on YouTube and watch 2-3 minutes of a video. That's what I tend to do.

If you don´t go to the door they usually leave sooner as they can´t show off.
Sometimes there is the one who waits till the end.
Tab out and read forum.

The killer should be able to abandon if they get a map that's bad for their killer, 3+ gens done at 1 hook, or exit gates open and it counts as a draw

You use a headset? 🤣😂

Honestly, it’s unbelievable that some still defend this behavior. Everyone knows why Survivors linger at the gate until the timer runs out: just to rub their win in your face with teabags and flashlight clicks if you approach. It’s pure toxicity. Instead of implementing something that actually discourages this and helps reduce toxicity, we’re being told to either “go AFK” or “just hit them out” — as if that’s an actual solution.
And this isn't about being “too sensitive,” to BM, it’s about a flawed game loop that allows and even encourages toxic endgame behavior. Giving killers the option to abandon without penalty when the game is over, would reduce frustration and make the endgame feel less like a taunt session.
The abandon feature is already available for survivors. If it were implemented properly for killers as well in situations like these, it would be a very reasonable solution.

Headsets are handy for hearing survivors 😁 even when blinded by flashlight I can still chase them by sound, had a few tombstones while totally blinded because of a headset lol

Maybe that's the reason why I've never gotten much out of Spirit then? 🤣
The speakers on the old TV don't carry well over here to the couch! 🎮 🎮

This. No reason NOT to include it. It could even autocomplete endgame challenges for Survivors. Just Leave, PLEASE.
Exactly, it's indefensible and it's griefing. It's time to call it what it is: griefing. Teabagging in the gates and noise spam and clicking at the Killer to push you out is griefing. It's done to annoy the Killer, nothing else, it provides NO benefit whatsoever to anyone as Survivors, it's just done to annoy the Killer and that is ALL. BM is BM is BM. We should punish BM by making it unsatisfying to do.

I don't understand why killers are mad over surviviors leaving for mori.
You won, we get it. Watch the mori alone.
-3 -
My guess would be the same reason survivors don't want the killer to leave penalty free when all survivors are at the gate? Same situation applies, "you won, I get it, just escape and get it over with"
2 -
Just kill them instantly after they stand 30 seconds in the gate without a good reason xD
Jokes aside the abandoment-feature like some people already pointed out is probably da way (even tho I wouldn't use it anyways, I find this feature increadible cheap xD).

I am going to rewrite this now that I'm not angry anymore. Survivors waiting at the gate while it's open are very annoying due to them wasting time that the killer could use waiting fir another match, spending blood points, or whatever. It feels like slugging but on the killers side. The only way to end it is to go to the gate and watch them t bag you until you get within 10 ft of them

"It feels like slugging but on the Killer side."
That's absolutely true, @justadreampallet, well said! That's exactly what it feels like.
