SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: AFK points are continuing to be accrued instead of pausing when a task is not completed, and entering the killer's terror radius does not slow the rate in which the points are accrued.

PLATFORM: Steam, though the video will show a cross platform player who is reported to also have the crows.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

  1. As stated in the patch notes, players who are not interacting with objectives are considered AFK if interaction does not occur within 10 seconds. Patch notes also state that movement and entering the terror radius will slow the point gains.
  2. Ash and Soma both have crows appear above their heads during the match, despite the previous few minutes having them interact with objectives such as gens or healing themselves or others. Ash remains in the killer's terror radius for some time before losing his crow, while Soma stays primarily out of the terror radius but moves around often.

VIDEO: Forgive the audio. James Funderland is the other player speaking in the video. At 0:29, Ash completes a heal on Feng Min, and while several minutes pass without him completing an objective, he does interact with the generator on the second floor (visible at 1:22), and with James to heal him from the dying state (at 1:48). While neither action is completed, the player is interacting within 20 seconds of each other. In the next minute, Ash pulls off to the outside section of RPD to avoid Springtrap, then unhooks James at 2:48. You should be able to hear James say "Ash has a crow? Okay." and Soma (me) replies with "Which is weird, because he was just on a generator."

At the same time (2:59), Soma completes a heal on himself and hops on a generator. This should prevent the accruing of AFK points. While I do move around the map after a short period, I do return to the gen at 4:21, and movement should also slow the speed in which AFK points accumulate. At 4:43, I arrive at the Pentimento totem to begin cleansing it, and at 4:56, the crow appears above Soma's head briefly, only to disappear once it is cleansed.

What appears to be occurring is that, while interacting with objectives, players are still accruing AFK points before the task is completed. Moving or coming into the killer's terror radius does not seem to lessen the speed in which the points are accrued, as both crows appeared roughly 2 minutes after the last completed objective (Ash from 0:29-2:48, Soma from 2:59-4:56) despite Ash staying within the killer's terror radius for a longer period of time than Soma did.

Edit: Someone on the subreddit has also posted video of a similar situation, in which one player finishes the interaction on a generator (Zarina), while the other player (Bill) begins interactions on objectives; in this case the exit gate, but both players gain AFK points at the same speed. Devs have responded to that post with "This is exactly what we needed," so hopefully this will also cover the other end of the spectrum, the mythical "Thrill of the Hunt crow."
