Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Clown and Franklin's Demise should have been reverted

Franklin's Demise is borderline useless if not paired with Weave Attunement. Not removing charges means survivors can get the item when they would naturally pass by that area, instead of having pressure to get it.

It will still be decent with Weave, but that doesn't make it okay. It's like if you removed the generator aura reading from Jagged Compass. Perks should be stronger in combos, but they should still be decent on their own. Especially if you want to keep chaos shuffle around.

Clown. Oh god. Yeah he might be stronger, but he is absolutely dumbed down now. Throw yellow bottle on feet, use the haste. No zoning with bottles, no throwing bottles ahead, just spam yellows. You basically completely changed how the character played. Yeah, he might be stronger but he is also dumber to play. High level plays were eliminated. Imagine if you made it for artists so that birds, instead of going the direction you aimed them in, would just hone in on the nearest Survivor. Yeah, she would be stronger. But the optimal playstyle would be dumber, and more annoying, and Artist mains would likely be upset that the killer doesn't work the way they learned her for years.

You want to buff Clown? Fine. But don't half the yellow activation time. You can keep the rest. Just please revert the yellow activation time to 2 seconds.

Please. These are absolutely horrendous changes. I have no idea how they went to live.

Nope. Franklins was just toxic how it was, and clown? If you want to talk about "dumbed down", it was literally just a simple formula of: throw yellow bottle when too far away to catch up in chase. throw purple bottle to get your free hit at a loop. Throw yellow bottle at your feat and camp hook with wall hacks. Rinse and repeat.

how is franklins toxic? and if it is then id dare say srynges/bnps/styptics etc are toxic aswel since we now have 0 counter to those

Completely apples to oranges. Syringes, you better down before they heal. You have plenty of time. Styptic, you count to five. BNP is extremely nerfed and not even worthy of a mention here honestly.

Franklins just delete your item. Typically between the time you receive your first hit, get hit again and go down, get hooked, and get rescued, all the charges on your item are completely dead. So it's really not fun, no fair at all.

idk. Win a mind game? In any case, a protracted debate about a different killer on a map filled with god pallets derails this topic completely.

Oh. I also forgot that even with nerfed franklins, this isn't an issue. How is a survivor going to use their syringe when their medkit is on the floor two rooms back???????? 🤣

True Franklins are fine and like it's new changes, not a toxic perk anymore combined with wallhacks from weave

My 2 cents on Franklin's, is that if a perk is designed in such a way that you feel it is necessary for you to use it every single match or else you're put at an active and natural disadvantage, then the perk is too strong.

The nerf is fine, IMO. It has been unpleasant to play against at best, and took the fun out of half of the Survivor kit (using items). At worst Franklin's was used to actively troll and make event items pointless and unusable.

Also, considering that maps and keys got reworked so that they only have a limited number of uses, Franklin's would be pretty busted on half the Survivor kit if left as-was. (Plus, it wouldn't work on Fog Vials, either)

Can we get like 6 seconds to actually try the content out first`?

A perk cannot be "toxic". Behaviors are or are not toxic. Not game mechanics.

Franklin's was a mid tier perk unnecessarily gutted. Killer perk slots are extremely valuable and spending a slot to maybe counter items was absolutely fine. That's one less slot for aura reading(which survivors hate) or game stall.

The fairness or fun of the perk means nothing. Your enjoyment inherently comes with the frustration of your opponents. Are you having fun staring at a gen that got hit with dead man's switch? Are you having fun getting your shred negated by dead hard on demo? Of course not. But that stuff is enabling your opponent to have fun. The only objective measure is looking at how strong a perk is in comparison to it's peers and Franklin's was low B tier at best.

    Franklin's should be reverted 100%.

As for Clown I wouldn't agree with a full revert, but I do agree with reverting the antidote activation time (this is a horrible way to buff him) and I'd also revert the Hindered linger back to 2 seconds, the effect only lasting 1 second after leaving the gas is pretty bad

Okay, well maybe the phrase "unhealthy for the game" is more appropriate, but there is no doubt that childish players with ill intent and a willfulness to be "toxic" would utilize this perk to its fullest.

Even with the nerf, it's still great for countering survivor items. They have to waste their time going all the way back to retrieve their item. In addition to that time lost, this could also put them in a vulnerable position.

Well if hitting a killer with headon actually caused them to lose their addons for that match, maybe we'd have a real comparison….

The game is asymmetrical. The killer losing their add-ons is not remotely equivalent to a survivor losing their items.

So, u mad about frankly demise only cause they steal your item without any conditions to counter specific gameplay ? Like, press F for 4 toolboxes from sabo or genrush team, idc are u finding toxic it or not.

Killer waste the whole slot, in what god sake it considers toxic if you yourself said syringes and septics aren’t big deal to counter. Killer just don’t waste his time, but sacrifice slot instead of using something more useful just because many items can cost the whole game.

Yk how u can counter it? Don’t be greedy and forget about item u lost, actually play game. Show gen efficiency this killer and make him regret he didn’t bring 4 genregress perks . Ez. When I played as survivor against guy with fd I never lost because I simply don’t rely on items

    IMG_9709.jpeg IMG_9610.jpeg

    Such builds aren’t toxic?
