Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Survivors DC

Anyone else getting at least one survivor dc every match playing as killer? I’m a pinhead main and played yesterday and today, not a single match without a dc. I know pinhead is hell for soloq but since I’m getting 4k every match I should be top mmr, but I’m not getting those strong 4 man swf. Idk what’s up with dbd lately but feels like survivors are now straight up dc’ing and afk’ing now that giving up on hook isn’t allowed.

I think you just answered your own question. Like you said, Pinhead is hell for solo queue, so I’m not surprised at all to hear that survivors DC against you every match.

You have every right to play the killer that you want to play, so I don’t blame you. I blame BHVR for a terrible killer design that is easy for SWF on comms to handle but damn near impossible for solo queue because either everyone is going for the box and not doing gens or nobody is going for the box and it’s permanent chain hunt.

Survivor DCs are going to be a frequent occurrence, penalty or not, until they add a killer avoidance system. You are never making these players play against certain killers. It's not happening. They will eat any penalty or find any work around. If you want to stop them from DCing, stop putting them against Pinhead when they refuse to play against Pinhead. Give it one avoid per lobby so SWF doesn't get an advantage. And TBH I really doubt Pinhead would be up there on the list if that was the case. It's really that simple but they're gonna drag their feet on it because queue times are more important than game quality, apparently.

I was just getting my daily quests in earlier and had 2 matches - the first one literally every survivor DCed against The Animatronic before I had even found one of them and the second one 2 DCs right after an early sacrifice as The Nightmare. I was kind of wondering if something was up too but 2 games isn't really a big sample size.

Nope, thankfully. But I've been playing Freddy, so maybe theyre just relieved it's not a Springtrap or Ghoul lol

I very rarely have straight DCs on my end when I'm killer. Just end game abandons. I see more as survivor. I've had a fair amount of killer DCs lately too.

    Not often, no.

Notably I had a match with four DCs, but it was a while ago:

It was an extreme scenario, but basically the only one I can think of since the anniversary ended.

As survivor, I see many DCs specifically when the killer is Ghoul.

I still see players disconnect on first hook fairly often, whether I’m playing killer or survivor. It actually happens more when I’m on survivor. It feels like the go-next prevention system isn’t stopping it, since I’ll sometimes face the same survivor who disconnected a couple matches earlier, only for them to do it again.

To be honest, I don't know how to answer this. What I can say is that the game has crashed for me many times since the last update...

Why would you be surprised? You're playing one of the more OP Killers in the game. No one wants to face a Killer that'll make it impossible to actually play the whole time. Sure, they shouldn't be DCing in the first place, should also give the match a try at least, but it's not surprising, and frankly expected, to see it happen.

In my case Kaneki is killing my game experience, I cant enjoy the game anymore. I can play 10 matches without winning any but having a mid or high level of fun, and then the 11th match is against a kaneki/ghoul, and the whole experience is f*cked, my mood completely changes, I dont want to keep playing just for the sake of having the chance of facing another ghoul. So whenever I can DC without getting penalty against him i just do it. And I guess other people have similar issues, getting constant nerfs or changes NOBODY asked for are another reason.

Also, not something minor, but I think the go next prevention was a huge L. Matches you know are lost from the first minute, feels like a total drag, so being on a hook for i dont know how many minutes, without the chance of doing anything feels horrible, totally kills the experience. So If you had a match where no one went to rescue you, or you were slugged 4 min on the ground, then the next match, if you are starting to have a similar experience then ofc you will just altf4 or dc. There are more chances of feeling the match you are playing is a total waste of time than not.

yeah it's been pretty bad lately. it's annoying because what happens is the survivors sometimes hide and I can only find the bot but chasing the bots is just too much of a pain for some killers. I actually lost s game the other day all because of the bot. they're the only ones available, but too annoying to deal with, if you chase them the other survivors do the gens but if you ignore the bot they become surgical with the totems and boxes.

I mean afking or "losing chases" and having to bring chalk pouch to struggle on hook. They made it a little more trouble to go next but my time is spent having fun in a game not ghoul and clown simulator.

Honestly yeah. Come back to the game after an extended break to play clown (I was a clown main before he was cool) since the buffs and yeah i would say 4/5 matches the first survivor to go down D/Cs.
I don't understand it honestly because surely getting out of the game by normal means is actually quicker than a D/C and a time out?
