Why don’t reeled-in survivors show a Status HUD icon?
I started thinking about it after I noticed something: almost every killer that inflicts a unique effect on survivors has it displayed in the Status HUD as a state. For example, when facing Trapper, being caught in a trap shows up as an icon on the survivor portrait. Other killers with similar features include Artist, Doctor, Trickster, Twins, Knight, and more.
So why doesn't Deathslinger have the same?

You can already tell, actually.
When you hear a shot, and the chase effect disappears from the HUD, that means someone got harpooned.

I'm aware of that, but it's kinda odd the devs didn't add a unique state to the action. He might be the only killer who has it like that (it would also look cool to have some visual flair btw).

Not just that, but a different shot audio plays. It sounds like someone just had a spear pierce their body, which is exactly what happened

Honestly I wish every character would display a HUD element for that survivor interacting with their power. Like clown's bottles, huntress hits with hatchets, nurse using 1-3 blinks in the chase and getting a hit, wraith uncloak hits etc...

Yeah, I totally agree. It’d be awesome if every killer’s power had a HUD element so you could see them interacting with a survivor in real time. Repairing gens is usually kinda boring, but watching my teammates in the chase, like seeing someone get hit with a bunch of knives by Trickster and the Laceration Meter start decaying, actually makes it more fun, and I can’t help but cheer them on.
