I have played with the Shape rework and oh boy...
So, this is obviously going to feel like a tangent but TL;DR "boy they sucked at Math".
Stalk range nerf is so weird, especially when you have an add-on to revert the nerf which is just so questionable I legit have no clue why.
There's also the fact Stalk Mode got nerfed in Movement speed but at least it being more on-demand has more reasoning behind the nerf. However, having add-on for the nerf revert on top of Stalk range is just not looking good.
There's also an add-on to manually end Evil Incarnate and the remaining progression is cut in half. It feels so nice it could be base-kit, make it reset to 0 and not count towards add-ons if needed.
Additionally, there's the Stalk depletion after 20s of not Stalking when you are specifically between 50% and 100%.
Sure, it's to make it harder to camp the Hooks but also... Why doesn't it deplete at 100% then?
This comes to the next point, when you are at 100% you are *stuck* at Pursuer Mode. I thought whole point of Shape was to ambush Survivors a bit.
So during camping, being in Pursuer Mode or Stalk Mode doesn't matter really, especially with "Enter Evil Incarnate" animation. Maybe you could slightly slow it when in Stalk Mode if necessary but yeah, what.
Pursuer Mode's TR got nerfed from 16m to 24m.
Which is especially odd given they also have changed Monitor & Abuse to be weaker on smaller TR Killers.Yes, he still has Dead Rabbit to reduce TR.
IF the nerf was needed, couldn't it be at 20m? Huntress somehow got to keep same TR range despite that after her release Pig had her TR increase from 28m to 32m and Hag going from 28m to 24m.
Pursuer is tied to Power so it having a bit less standard TR range doesn't seem like a bad thing.
This combined with being stuck at Pursuer Mode at 100% of Stalk is weird when you can just sit with 99% and if starts depleting, tap for a sec, body-block, enter Evil Incarnate, insta-down ready.
This is not even taking into account Slaughtering Strike which is supposedly getting some changes soon. I could comment on it more if it's still awkward after said changes.
The rework's concepts aren't bad you have:
Stalk Mode to build up Power.
Evil Incarnate to save time and down Healthy Survivors.
Pursuer Mode to catch Injured people.
In practice, Stalk Mode is your go-to because you desperately need to be in Evil Incarnate because of time-waste downing in Evil Incarnate which renders Pursuit Mode less needed.
Buffing Evil Incarnate would surprisingly make Pursuit Mode more worth it.
Overall, this rework has some solid designs on paper but so much of it has been botched up and just squeezed in onto a Chapter release which further makes you wonder how come this set of changes came to PTB.
It *does* give you an idea of "We reworked Shape just because and now you can't sayhe hasn't been reworked".
I wish someone from Development team could explain some of these changes or restrictions because I can't figure out some of these things.
