Trying to design a unique killer (for fun)

So a big talking point in this community is that a lot of killers these days seem to just be older powers reworked into new packaging and sometimes supplemented with an infection or something. It's kinda not great, especially since 3 of the 5 most recent killers can be directly compared to wesker specifically. So I decided to find a killer idea that has at least one new element. And I think I did it.

Despite the fact that it isn't from a horror game, one licensed character gave me an idea so I will use them as the killer for simplicity's sake. And that character is the roaring knight from Deltarune. So here's my idea.

The Roaring Knight starts the trial just like anyone else. They have a base speed of 4.6m/s and has a basic m1, utterly average, just like everyone else. However, they have an attack wheel similar to vecna with 2 attacks currently on it. Every time the R/K hits you with their ability or a generator is completed they gain progress towards their next tier, every tier unlocks new abilities until tier 4 which unlocks what is essentially a boss fight.

Ability 1: Dark sword (the boring one)- you will use a pinhead style placement system to place a sword made of darkness in mid air. It will wait a second and then strike down on anyone beneath it. (just a basic anti-loop that requires a bit of pre-planning)

This is where the unique stuff comes in

Ability 2: Wave of darkness: Starstreak.

The roaring knight will stab their sword into the floor and summon a wave of darkness (kind of like a pyramid head attack but with less range but bigger radius). If one or more survivors are hit by the wave, they will be dragged into a bullet-hell style 2D minigame. (this is the same for all wave of darkness attacks)

In this minigame the survivors will control a heart (like a soul from deltarune) and will be put through a minigame controlled by the roaring knight player. This is the starstreak minigame.

This is essentially the killer idea, it has the ability to drag you into a minigame (in this instance a bullethell). Within the minigame if the survivor gets hit by a projectile they gain a dark mark, if you gain 3 dark marks you loose a health state. If a survivor is downed in this minigame or any minigame, upon exiting the minigame the killer gains full aura reading on the downed survivor for 10 seconds.

Ability 3: Wave of darkness: Slash

This ability is unlocked at tier 2. The knight will essentially tell the game where to cut the box in half, other than that this is one of the less interactive parts. However this allows the knight to attempt to shepherd the survivor into a corner where its harder to dodge the teeth so It could give some pretty good value. As a survivor all you really have to do is wait for the first 2 teeth to shoot off then go beneath them, but it's important to remember that the knight doesn't have to wait to slash again as soon as the projectiles are gone.

Ability 4: Wave of Darkness: Blades

This one is kinda an inversion of the first one, and an homage to sans. Essentially the knight will choose the safe zone the survivors must escape to then, in pretty fast succession, swords will begin to drop. There will be a short indication period before each drop but it will be a short one so you'll need to be alert.

Ability 5: Dark Fountain

This is essentially a final boss attack and every single survivor in the trial will be dragged in. Once the knight unlocks it, the other abilities are locked until this has been activated.

This is the empty state you will be faced with at the beginning of the 50 second minigame. The Knight will have 3 separate attacks they can switch between. However every selection will incur a 10 second cooldown so you can't exactly rapid fire.

During the entirety of this minigame projectiles will spawn on the left and move to the right, they won't be that punishing but they are meant to run interference. However, there will be healing items that spawn on the right and quickly fly to the left which remove one dark mark. With that covered, onto the attack states.

This is the Bullet Rain attack. Essentially, this is a second tier 1 attack but with a few unique aspects. Firstly, unlike tier 1 the spawn zone is fully responsive and the killer has full command of where it goes. Secondly, there are 2 types of projectiles. The swords fall slowly, but they're big, if you hit one you gain a dark mark. The small projectiles fall fast and are more frequent, but only give you half a dark mark so you still have some breathing room.

This is the sword attack, essentially it's like you control a propellor. You spin 6 swords around yourself, but you also make them go away from the centre. The further from the knight, the faster they spin so it's really important survivors pay attention to them. Survivors will be able to essentially keep the same pace as the sword, so you can essentially follow them around without being harmed, however there are 4 of you and 6 swords so the knight can easily switch targets or direction and put you in imminent danger.

This is the spiral state, essentially the knight splits the box in half and can control that separation with a slowly rotating spiral. Unlike the swords however, these 2 moving arms are not the main threat. The arms will automatically shoot heat seeking teeth from their inner face every 5 seconds. To avoid these teeth you will need to wait until the last second to dodge them and allow them to pass.

In Conclusion: I like this idea because not only does dbd not have a killer quite like this, but there really isn't a game where you can play as a bullethell boss against an actual person and I think it'd be really cool to do that. Although, actually using a license for this isn't really necessary, the roaring knight just inspired this idea. A killer which could start an interactive minigame that I could control would probably knock springtrap and xenomorph from their podium as my main.
