Title: Pyramid Head Rework in Accordance with Silent Hill Lore
The text was created through a translator, errors may occur
The Core Issue
The Executioner's current active ability — the trail shot — looks like magic and does not match the character's image from the Silent Hill games. Pyramid Head is an executioner and a physical threat, not a mage shooting projectiles. I propose replacing the shot with a lore-friendly mechanic, as well as adding world-altering elements characteristic of the series.
1. What Remains Unchanged
· Trails: When walking with M2 held, Pyramid Head leaves scratches on the ground. Survivors who step on them become Tormented. The mechanic remains.
· Execution and Cage: Tormented Survivors can be sent to a Cage or executed by the knife. The mechanic remains.
2. Replacing the Shot (M2) — "Executioner's Lunge"
· Was: Pyramid Head sent a trail forward 8–10 meters through walls.
· Will be: A physical lunge with the knife.
· Pyramid Head raises his knife forward and takes 2–5 quick steps forward, thrusting through space.
· The attack goes through walls — the knife reaches Survivors even if they are around a corner or in a building, and it also has its own charge and cooldown.
· If a pallet or breakable wall is in the path of the knife, it is destroyed instantly (without a kick).
· After a hit — a short animation of pulling out the knife. After a miss into the air, Pyramid Head returns to his normal state faster, without a long slowdown.
3. New Mechanic — World Change (Otherworld)
· How it works: Survivors gain a hidden counter. It increases when they step on Pyramid Head's trails or remain in a Tormented state for a long time. The higher the team's total counter, the more the world changes.
· Effects (progressive):
· Fog: Survivors' vision range is reduced (for example, to 24–32 meters). This is especially noticeable on outdoor maps.
· Insects: One insect appears on the screen, crawling across it. It does not block vision completely, but distracts during skill checks, creating pressure.
· Important: This mechanic could work either for all Survivors at once (with team accumulation), or personally for those who step in the trails more often. This point would require testing.
4. Why This Is Better Than the Current Version
· Lore Accuracy: Pyramid Head ceases to be a "mage" and becomes a physical stalker, like in the games.
· Interactivity: The knife lunge adds new tactics — you can break pallets through obstacles and reach Survivors through walls.
· Atmosphere: Fog and insects convey the spirit of Silent Hill, affecting gameplay, not just the visuals.
· Balance: The attack requires aiming. When hitting a Survivor or a pallet, Pyramid Head spends a short time pulling out the knife. When missing into the void, the delay is small. A Survivor who dodges the attack gets a chance to change position, but not too much time.
5. New Passive Mechanic — Lying Figure (Armless)
· One non-player character appears on the map — the Lying Figure. It looks and behaves like the monster from Silent Hill 2: slow, blind, moves with difficulty.
· Attack: Every 5–10 steps, the Lying Figure stops and spits acid forward. The spit is short-range, not instantaneous — Survivors have plenty of time to move away if they notice the monster.
· Detection: The Lying Figure is blind. It does not see Survivors at a distance. But if a Survivor comes close (2 meter radius), the Lying Figure turns towards them and slowly starts walking, trying to spit.
· Purpose: The Lying Figure creates local pressure zones. It does not chase Survivors across the entire map, but if a Survivor is distracted or trapped in a narrow corridor — they take damage/ become Tormented.
· Connection to Pyramid Head: Pyramid Head does not directly control the Lying Figure. The Lying Figure simply exists on the map as part of the world, adding atmosphere and unexpected dangers. Also, since Pyramid Head is a sadist, by killing the Lying Figure he replenishes part of the charge of his second attack (the lunge).
II understand that the change is very different from what it is now, but you should at least try to introduce this into a test run and hear the opinion of the majority of players.
