Bots.
Hello Behaviour Interactive,
I’d like to raise a concern about the bot system in Dead by Daylight, specifically during endgame scenarios.
When only one real player and one bot remain, and the bot gets hooked, the bot will always continue struggling until the very end of the hook timer. This creates an issue where the remaining player who may be hiding and waiting for the hatch is forced to sit and wait with no meaningful interaction.
Since bots don’t make decisions like real players, they don’t ever “give up” or speed up the process. As a result, the match can feel artificially prolonged, especially when the outcome is already decided.
This leads to a frustrating experience where:
- The last player has no incentive to act but is forced to wait
- The pacing of the endgame is slowed down unnecessarily
- What should be a tense final moment becomes passive and tedious
It would help improve the experience if bots behaved differently on hook in these situations. For example:
- Bots could stop struggling when only one human survivor remains
- Hook timers could be shortened for bots in endgame
- Hatch conditions could trigger based on remaining human players rather than total survivors
The bot system is a great addition overall, but this behavior negatively impacts endgame flow and player experience.
Thank you for your consideration.

another solution is remove bots in main game. Bots can stay in custom games.because i will be honest, i never want bot in my team.

i like it. The Bot needs to sacrefice itself for the player or its giving the killer even more time to find the last survivor.
Maby we need a rudamentary comunikation system. Maby like "Sea of Thefs" has. You could tell your teammates for examlple "Im going for hatch" so hesetent players at the gates also leave. And Bots on hook make it quick. :)
Little mark here. Players getting replased with bots when they leave during there death annimation. Why? They also get no Points and 5 min ban. I have ADHD and am forgetteble and impatient sometimes. Hate getting punishet for it.1 -
I don't mind having Bots replace a DC because, at the very least, they can afford some passive gen progress in the background that can make a 3v1 feel a little less impossible. I do wish they'd adjust their priorities a little, though. Bots right now play extremely selfishly. They take 0 risks and can be zoned just by touching them with your TR. It makes them unreliable for unhooks and useless for anything clutch while the killer is nearby but distracted.
Not to mention as soon as gens are powered they charge to the exit gates, open them immediately then bail, regardless of the gamestate they are leaving behind. It feels crummy to have a really great game, eat your first hook right at the end, then watch the bot leave to preserve the item of… No one?
Once gates are open, bots should prioritise keeping other people alive above every other task and should never ever leave until all human players are out.
Also, if there's only one remaining player and they're on hook, have them give hatch like OP said.
Edit: Possible exception to bots never leaving while someone else is still in the trail: If there is only 1 other human player, and that play is currently in chase and over 36m or so away from the gate, the bot should go to give hatch. It's not perfect, but it'd be better than what we have now.Post edited by zonkednb on2
