‘DS can’t be used aggressively’ (Rant)

Tell that to the P100 Lara who deli’d from across the map ran into to force a chase, miss her DH and then ds’d me wasting my time and pressure; causing me to draw the game with only 2 kills because their endgame was atrocious.

And before you hit me with ‘just slug her’. She had unbreakable, like I was guessing and she stood up in front of me in end game and died. Also her duo MFT+WGLF, plot twist and conviction.

If you’re wondering why killers are hard slugging, running quad slowdown, tunneling at 5 gens (cringe btw) this is why.

People like to say DS can't (or shouldn't) be used aggressively, but that's just more community rulebook stuff. There's nothing stopping people from trying to get the most value out of their perks.

I was running away from hook to go patrol and pressure the other side map. [This was on nostromo] I hooked her in the corner behind the ship on the side of the smaller ship, I was circling around the left side of the main ship to head to leftmost gens and Lara unhooks herself about 10 secs, she then b lines it for me and we meet around the middle where it slopes up into the main ship she holds W to the scrapyard area, misses her DH at a pallet she was greeding, ds’s me, loops me for another 15-20 ish secs 2 gens pop leaving me at 1, she goes down again, and because it’s nostromo I can’t fully face anything to prevent a flashy, haddie gets a crazy blind on me and the last gen pops soon after, again couldn’t even slug her then because of the anti slug duo.

I have to commit to Lara at this point because it’s endgame, I hook her, someone forces an exchange, I manage to get them in basement, and they misplay giving me 2 kills by basement while I forced the other 2 out. I only managed to draw and get 2 because I was lucky enough to have basement nearby and they played extremely poorly in endgame, it very easily could’ve been 4-man out if they took hits pro

I was at 3 hooks and 3 gens when the Lara situation happened.

I should mention she had the audacity to hit me the ‘lmao GGS’ in DMs, and I’m not a mind reader but I don’t think that was in good faith. This is kinda thing killer players have to deal with, I wasn’t hard tunneling at 5 gens, I wasn’t hard slugging at 5 gens. Just playing ‘normally’ and yet survivors still split gens extremely efficiently(did the middle 2 first to prevent a 3 gens and had 3 survivors on gens permanently except when haddie would go for a flashlight if she happened to be nearby), used their perks aggressively, tbagged and messaged me directly in DMs. All that because I had the audacity of playing trapper and happened to get a ######### map like nostromo.

I wasn’t an S or High A killer, and that’s the kinda that happens. I wouldn’t normally complain as I don’t main trapper, i just have this therapeutic venture one every month or couple months to play him and see where the game state is at, this last year, year 1/2 it become unbearable and it’s the same for the other low tiers some even have it worse than trapper (skull merchant). So if BVHR plans on continuing making the game harder and harder for low tiers and not properly nerfing the high tiers we’re gonna have a problem.

hopefully with blight getting nerfed, finally proving god can bleed we can start seeing nerfs to other high tiers especially the ones that ignore pallets. So we can finally have some godamn variety in the killer roster, but that of course requires bhvr to actually buff the low tiers and address pallet density and the meta perks on Both sides. I don’t think it’s a hot take to say the meta perks for both sides is miserable to play against, especially sprint burst/vigil if you’re an M1 killer with low mobility.

Yes, leave them on the ground. Either patrol around them pressuring other survivors or leave them to use up their UB. No one is forcing you pick them up when it's a high likelyhood they have DS. Force them to waste UB or have another survivor waste time picking them up. It's better than you going through the pickup animation time sink just to lose both survivors.

like realistically I don’t have a problem with it of course, only problem being the edge cases when it’s just miserable. And bhvr not touching anything below B- Tier for perks and killers

S Tiers with quad slowdown, hard tunneling/slugging at 5 gens

And 4 sprint burst + pallet density against low tiers

Those 2 are probably the top of the list for me.

And of course we have the stale, top end Meta perks, on both sides with bad perks either never getting substantial buffs, or bhvr’s lack of foresight breaks the game like with fast track or thrill of the hunt.

if I did just leave her there, high likelihood she either uses her unbreakable, or waits for her duo with wglf/mft.

If I did happen to find her duo with the anti slug build he can just plot twist/conviction under a pallet.

Haddie and 4th both are likely easier chases but that requires me to not only find them but eat their sprint bursts likely wasting a bunch of time and let the 1 scenario to play out un-pressured. So where’s the win condition here? Every time I run the game back in my head every play I come up a with is countered either by the map, my killer choice, or a perk. I guess I hope they decide to play bad or pick a high tier next time?

tbh this reads way more understandable. And it doesnt seem like DS is the actual problem. Its just one perk being used, in this case they definitley needed a combination to get this value and honestly? It doesnt sound like the Match would have played out too differently without it.

As you stated yourself, you were playing Trapper, who is just very inconsistent and relies on luck/survivor mistakes.

And depending on the player this DM may also be meant just like they said, maybe this 2 man swf were just messing around with some perk combos, for some value out of it, still died in the end to you and they see it as both sides had dynamic interactions and fun? (Yeah, knowing this Community likely you are right and it was meant to be toxic but dont forget not all apples are bad ones)

you’re right, I technically dont have to chase anyone.

It just so happens she is the best position possible and was the worst player. The others simply either made themselves scarce or pre-ran and pre-dropped.
The time is constantly ticking, gens are constantly being done, there simply isn’t enough time to do what you suggest, especially on someone like trapper and on a map with no grass.

And forgive me for misunderstanding, but doesn’t the bodyblocking already fall under using it aggressively. Whether basekit BT ran out or whether I decided to hit them or not, bodyblocking in that manner is inherently aggressive/weaponizing, no?

  • Slurp_Ramen

yeah now that I’m cooled off, it definitely wasn’t just a DS problem, it’s just when the ds happened and the snowball started rolling; that quote was constantly ringing through head.

I guess I was mad at the fact that games like that take place like all the time and those events unfold to people all the time, some are even worse off if they don’t play seriously, haven’t played for years like me, and just aren’t as skilled.
And people (on both sides) will use the stats from the 1% to defend whatever they want even if it’s not objectively fun or balanced.

if I had to rename the title it’d be probably be something like, the top 15 perks on both sides needs changing and low tier killers/perks need some serious overhaul.

if you feel like it you can always do another post with better expressed constructive feedback! But of course you don’t have to, its not like this hasnt been said before after all.

And you are also of course very much in your right to vent like this on here - even then you stayed civil and didnt end up insulting or anything so all good.

I really don’t understand people who come on here just to hurl insults and death threats unjustifiably.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like a bigger problem going on here is you were having a hard time finding any other chase to take? That sounds like a more pressing concern than this survivor trying to get your attention, and it's also definitely something you can work on and/or bring perks to correct.
Even with that in mind, if I suspected that the person trying to get my attention was trying to fish for a DS stun, I'd let them follow me while I looked for someone else. Free pressure.

And bodyblocking with Endurance can be weaponised, DS can't. Nothing forces you to peel off and chase that survivor and nothing forces you to pick them up. It isn't even the best call most of the time.

    I can’t believe it.

I found the same duo again.

Tried slugging didn’t work, shocker. I was only to get 1 kill this time and it was an ash who couldn’t tie his shoes, the last person was a goated ttv.

Every time I run the game back in my head every play I come up a with is countered either by the map, my killer choice, or a perk. I guess I hope they decide to play bad or pick a high tier next time?

You're the only one who knows the full game, but this broadly is just part of DbD regardless of the role you play.

Trapper vs all meta SWF? Meme survivor perks vs sweaty Nurse? If one side sweats harder than the other in what they bring they'll have a pretty substantial advantage.

And forgive me for misunderstanding, but doesn’t the bodyblocking already fall under using it aggressively. Whether basekit BT ran out or whether I decided to hit them or not, bodyblocking in that manner is inherently aggressive/weaponizing, no?

You're going a little overboard on how you portray what people say about DS.

Sure, a person with DS can run up and attempt to bodyblock the killer. It's just when compared to everything else they could be doing, its a pretty silly strategy. In your example the survivor has dedicated their entire build to trying to get in your way after being unhooked (and being this was a 2k doesn't really come off as having actually been meaningful).

Perks aren't broken just because they can gain value, they should, that's why they exist. Would you have been better off if the survivor had a chase focused build and it took longer to down them? A quick heal build to be at full health off hook and not even need the DH? Or a gen build where they don't even focus on you and just slam gens.

  • HoodedWildKard
    HoodedWildKard Member Posts: 2,914

I'm curious, how do you force chase? You realise you can just not engage and continue whatever chase you were already doing. When I'm killer if I have someone running at me off hook making an obvious ds play I just ignore or slug them.

Even if they do have unbreakable, it can only be used once, so if you slug them, they waste their unbreakable and will be unable to trigger it usefully later on. It's still pressure.

Tbh bully tactics like this usually throw the game pretty badly. Because by the sounds of it you did end up killing the lara and presumably most of the surv team.

I’m pretty good at macro gameplay, it’s the main thing I’ve tried to hone and is by far more interesting for me as a player than micro gameplay.

I can always guess where people are generally, but wouldn’t know exacts without aura perks.

In killers with little to no mobility it’s less a problem of finding people at all, as it’s more a problem finding people in good spots to chase (dead zones not near a main building etc.). That’s what makes sprint burst and holding W so frustrating by the time you get where the people are they’re either already gone/more trouble than they’re worth.

  • Reinami
    Reinami Member Posts: 7,069

I'm not saying they shouldn't do it. I'm saying they shouldn't be ABLE to do it. Its not meant to be used that way. Its designed specifically to stop being tunneled.

  • Slurp_Ramen
    Slurp_Ramen Member Posts: 276

it’s pretty simple, just be injured and not have SB while being in an unsafe area. It’s a pretty clear cut case, why would I choose to chase the superior player in a safer area rather than the worse person actively chasing me down.

And yeah I did end up only getting 2 but it felt completely horrible because it wasn’t even anything I did well, just happened to get good rng with basement and the survivors played extremely poorly in endgame and didn’t take their easy 3 out, it couldn’ve been a 4 out easily if they weren’t lollygagging the hook prior, they completely messed up the hit take order under hook giving me a free exchange.

I also met the same duo again, tried slugging the Lara and avoiding her didn’t work, and her duo? Pre ran and held W as much as possible making him a slog to chase, the only person I managed to kill that game was a baby ash. And the 4th was a juiced ttv was very efficient.

I also wouldn’t even classify them as a bully squad/bully duo. I don’t even use the term in my day to day, but if I had to give my personal definition on it it’d have 4 man flashies and flashbangs with a couple of head ons/locker plays and background players. And the other being those haste duos with power of 2 and blood pact. But 4 man flashies are usually easier to deal with because they usually dont have room for powerful anti slug options, and are countered by walls and having ears. The only time I’d lose to them would be on pallet heavy maps for them to die under, or maps with low loops/few walls, like a corn map.
I don’t even consider sabo squads bully squads which I know a lot of people do, but I’d just put them in their own category.

  • Slurp_Ramen
    Slurp_Ramen Member Posts: 276

as if the dbd gods heard me, I just got a duo ttv ‘bully squad’ they both swapped to characters with flashlights last second, both had quick and quiet and head on and flashbang

They lost, only getting one flashlight save when the game was almost over, and they got 3 head ons on me, it should’ve only been 2 as the last 2 I was sure I baited correctly but it must’ve been ping because they hit from a mile away.

It was 11 hook game, didn’t need to tunnel or slug unnecessarily, and the last guy got hatch with all the gens were done, a pretty uneventful match all this considered.

  • Firellius
    Firellius Member Posts: 5,677

No, it's a survivor perk meant to confer a benefit to survivors. Nowhere in the perk does it specify that it's meant to be a purely anti-tunnel perk. That's something the community made of it.

If it was purely anti-tunnel, I'd be fine with it getting more tightly constrained to tunnelling scenarios, but it'd have to be basekit, too.

So you're going to honestly tell me that you think the way the perk is currently designed it is not clearly and specifically designed to deal with getting tunneled? If you honestly think that it is designed to do something else, i have a bridge to sell you.

Sounds like a change in playstyle might help. What killer do you play out of interest? From what you've said it sounds like you're struggling to finish chases quickly and feel like you're being funneled after weaker survivors. Could be the killers/builds you play. My suggestion is run some decent traversal or stealth. I love running undetectable on my builds because if you're smart it practically prevents prerunning, makes chases less of a chore.

  • Slurp_Ramen
    Slurp_Ramen Member Posts: 276

I play all sorts of killers as to not get burnt out on one specific killer. The game in question I was playing trapper as part of my bi-monthly play trapper venture to see where the game is at, this last year and a half or so with him has been awful. I used to be able to run perkless trapper just 2 years ago no problem and still get consistent 4k’s but now I have to actually run perks like corrupt and brutal/enduring bc of the pallets like the boring chud I am.

Then I played houndmaster for a couple games with a devour/scream add on, furtive/friends build and then vecna 2 with a pretty standard aura build with machine learning for a couple games (he’s probably the strongest I play as I don’t usually enjoy high tiers, just can’t stand blight and ghoul, nurse and krasue are mind numbingly easy they put me to sleep, I can’t play Billy for more than a few games because the chainsaw is so loud[I mained spirit back in the day so the chainsaw hurts me double than a normal person], I don’t like drac, and I’ve fallen outta favor with singularity and twins but used to like them)

Other killers I cycle between regularly are SM, Sadako, vecna 1, unknown, springtrap

  • HoodedWildKard
    HoodedWildKard Member Posts: 2,914

Got a good variety then. Yeah trapper games are always going to be super rough unless you play dirty and pull a basement set up or something.

I tend to stick with mid tier killers too. Most fun niche killers in this game. Only high tier killer i play atm is a bit of nurse, and really that's because i like the collector skin and she's stisfying to use. But I usually voluntarily let at least 2 survs go each game, she's so busted that 4ks are too easy and boring.

You're saying this right after complaining that the perk is not sticking to that exact design constraint.

Additionally, the very first iteration of DS had nothing to do with tunnelling at all.

  • cogsturning
    cogsturning Member Posts: 4,114

So you took the bait and got outplayed? That's the game. Read and react incorrectly and you don't win. I almost never trigger DS unless I decide to take the obvious bait ("aggressive playing") or the game is wrapping up. And when I do, it goes like this:

    So strong. So scary.

  • crogers271
    crogers271 Member Posts: 3,631

I still find it funny that the anti-tunnel got taken down for trying to 'railroad' how people play, but the idea that a survivor might attempt to use a perk in a generally ineffective manner is game ruining.

The fact you missed the whole point of the post entirely astounds me. As this post sprouted from a Trapper Nostromo game

OFC ds did nothing you’re playing Vecna 2!

A TOP TIER KILLER with ranged attacks that bypass walls!

And I stated from the beginning DS only blows so many chunks to play against because of the existence of low mobility M1 killers/Low tiers.

I don’t what’s sadder, that you thought this was a gotcha, or that you’re using lightborn on him; it probably only would’ve been topped by you playing nurse in the example.

I really do have a genuine question: What is forcing the killer to get hit by DS?

As killer you can do the following and more:

    • Smack the idiot running into your face for an obvious ds and continue chasing someone else
    • Smack and DOWN the idiot obviously trying to get DS value and leave them (in this case they cant even whine about slugging without looking bad/stupid/both and no one reasonable would call you on it)
    • Ignore the idiot and continue off to protect an important gen.
    • Ignore the idiot for a small time to make sure they deactivate DS on their own and come back to murder them

Like…theres no way to force DS period so…

  • Slurp_Ramen
    Slurp_Ramen Member Posts: 276

ping forcing grabs over m1s overall.

2 slugs on top of each other- niche but possible

I guess it’s technically possible to CJ into a DS, but I’ve never seen it done personally

    Lockers

Killer powers: dredge, wesker, springtrap on both axe and doors

    Portals on Vecna 1’s map

    Medium vault windows

    Pallet vaults

Those last 2 happen quite frequently as if you don’t swing and wait for a vault to try and counter a possible DH you can get hit be a ds instead. Like for instance at a T&L loop, you think the survivor has DH so you back rev them until they vault to counter DH but instead of a fast vault, they either slow or medium vault, and if you just go for the lunge many survivors can just reaction E the lunge

We aren't talking about the first iteration of it are we? We are talking about the current version, which now you are deflecting trying to not actually answer my question because you can't. You know the current version is clearly designed for anti-tunnel.

  • Firellius
    Firellius Member Posts: 5,677

What makes you think it's designed for anti-tunnel?

Your main complaint is that it functions outside the anti-tunnel constraint you set for it. You internalise this as some kind of design flaw, rather than the perk's design space being wider than what you give it credit for.

Additionally, if it was truly meant to be anti-tunnel, wouldn't it fire on -both- unhooks, rather than just one?

    • For once thats actually a fair say compared to 99% of whining complaints. Sadly think thats the only one AND if the survivor was doing something that the killer COULD grab, its going to disable a DS. The exception to that is lockers to my knowledge, in which case you also could have just ignored that survivor to begin with.
    • That one is still on the killer. Neither me nor my friends have had any trouble with this and alot of my friends aren't dbd experts. If they can do it, anyone can.
    • And you couldn't go to the opposite side of the pallet to ensure you don't pick up the survivor? Cause thats something you can do remember.
    • See the first bullet.
    • Wesker you'd have to more or lest ACTIVELY go into it as he still can M1 to down the survivor bugging you less your not paying attention as otherwise its a non problem. Springtrap would be actively tunneling if an axe grab and would have to be EXTREMELY lucky for a door grab. Dredge is a similar deal where its luck based. We concede 2 out of the 4 points here (dredge lockers and springtrap doors)
    • You'd be doing the same thing as lockers. You can simply NOT chase them or interact with them. Thats on the killer.
    • Same as above.
    • Same as above.

Edit forgot to put the score: 3 to "aggressive ds" vs 9 "killer's fault"

I probably shouldn't but i decided to humor you and did a quick google search. And i found many instances of the devs literally talking about how the perk is specifically designed to be an anti-tunnel perk. So i'll post them for you to see:

Question: What led to the decision to put the timer on Decisive Strike?

Horvath: We decided to put a timer on Decisive Strike as one of the solutions to Decisive Strike being used too often, we tried 2 minutes internally and found that players were able to use DS a long time after being unhooked, where it no longer serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed

    Camping & Tunneling

On the Survivor side, there is a clear preference for perks that grant a second chance. Borrowed TimeDecisive StrikeDead Hard, and perks of that nature help a Survivor avoid certain death, leading to an extreme usage rate.

One of Decisive Strike's main appeals is its efficacy at preventing tunneling. In light of the upcoming base game changes, we expect Decisive Strike to drop in usage slightly.

Specifically and multiple times here, the devs note that DS is very effective at preventing tunneling, and literally said that if the timer is too long than it would NO LONGER SERVE THE PURPOSE TO PROTECT YOU FROM BEING TUNNELED

You cannot possibly get more clear than that. It is obvious in both the way the perk is designed and the devs have explicitly stated on multiple occasions that it's purpose is to prevent you from being tunneled and designed as an anti-tunnel perk.

So at this point, are you willing to concede that the perk is an anti-tunnel perk?

  • cogsturning
    cogsturning Member Posts: 4,114

Yeah, and a lot of killers could trash this perk. I could have sniped with Deathslinger, Huntress or Unknown. I could have caught up with Wesker or Ghoul. I could have tossed a yellow bottle at my feet as Clown, I could have teleported as Dredge. Cool thing about this game is that there's a huge list of characters. You choose the killer. You can't pick Trapper and then complain that you can't combat perks (the usage of which is often broadcasted) that other killers can decimate. If the game was designed around Trapper, survivor would be unplayable. Choose the killer, choose the experience.

What's crazy to me is you had one single bad game (that was still a 2k) and it requires a whole post about DS. I'd be posting 5+ times a day if I complained about every outplay or loss.

  • Reinami
    Reinami Member Posts: 7,069

You are being quite disingenuous now. There is a big difference between a nurse or a ghoul or a blight being able to chase down that DSed survivor, and a clown throwing a yellow bottle. DS hurts low tier killers way more than the high tier ones. An the super high tier ones like nurse, blight and ghoul literally don't care that it exists.

  • Slurp_Ramen
    Slurp_Ramen Member Posts: 276

I try not to actively tunnel with springtrap but if survivors unhook in front of me and the unhooked decides to take an axe for the unhooker sure I’ll down them why not.
I had a feeling you might mention actively tunneling with springtrap, but when I do play him it’s not an uncommon occurrence to axe grab a healthy survivor and get hit with DS at 50s because of resurgence and healing speeds still being semi-quick. That’s just been my personal anecdotal experience.

  • Rulebreaker
    Rulebreaker Member Posts: 2,836

Tunneling or not isn't exactly the point, just a easy summation. The point is that your choosing to continue that chase with the unhooked despite the DS risk, therefore to me it is not forced. That axe? sure they ate it, whats stopping you from chasing that other guy instead of going for the axe grab? Whats stopping a basic lunge to down the axed survivor so you dont grab them? The only real valid thing you've said to that would be ping.

but I’m not exactly choosing to commit to the guy with DS.

Person with DS and resurgence gets unhooked I chase the unhooker to not be tunneling scum, if I play well and down the person rather quickly I can TP the person closest to a door (I run bbq and floods of rage on my springtrap), I then get a fast double tap with the axe and then oops guess I tunneled after hooking another person entirely and the guy is fully healthy.

    Happens more often than not

I made the post because of echo chamber people like you who refuse to acknowledge the power gap between killers and the fact that most games boiling down to, are you playing a strong killer? Did you get a good map? Did pallet density decide to play nice and not spawn 23 pallets.

And that 2k you’re so hung up on was completely outta my hands and basically only happened because the survivors decided to throw last second, and because I was got lucky with a close basement It very could’ve easily been a 4 out but RNG of all things prevented that. The worst way by far to skirt by in rng like that that doesn’t even feel good in the end.

Yet on survivor I regularly find my still enjoying games even if it ends in everyone dead, or just me dead and everyone else gets out. when it comes to killer there’s very very very few situations where getting 0-1 kills feels good at all unless you’re like an orbital huntress clip farmer or something, or a funny haha ghostface. Even getting 4k’s can sometimes suck as they can be hollow victories, like with skull merchant and survivors just refusing to play the game (btw anyone reading if you still dc against SM you’re beyond cringe get over yourself)

This is my last comment on this post, I’m probably just gonna silently observe now.
It started off as a vent, then genuine and interesting discussion once I cooled off, then into an infuriating mess.

I want to thank the few of you who actually engaged in meaningful conversation and aren’t being intentionally inflammatory, obtuse and ragebaity. So before I say anything that’ll likely get me banned I’m heading out, as I’ve received word from people who have been banned for saying very non-offensive things and still got banned anyway.

Sadly I took the bait on this one, Congrats costurning you win the forum ego award.

Everyone, I wish you a good day can’t wait to see you all again on the anniversary!

You've now made a different scenario, but regardless of that theres flaws with this.

First: You know whos been unhooked recently so long as your keeping track.

Second: You still are going into the risk knowing it could be in play. Your free to choose your targets.

Third: That is NOT "aggressive" DS. Thats the survivor not doing anything meaningful for however long and getting (un)lucky that they had ds still active.

Aren't you the one always telling people to bring this crap perk? How much does it hurt your KR?

Lmao yesterday I got accused of not playing killer because I'm always going against what other killers want. Today I'm part of an echo chamber. The echo chamber is people parroting the same complaints over and over over, like this one.

Plenty of times I've said lower tiers need buffs. Not to the point where everyone is A tier or up, but buffs. But you've now changed the point of your original post, which was about people using DS aggressively, as though survivors should just be passive and if the perk triggers on it's own then that's how it should work.

Some people feel the opposite of how you feel. I'm not satisfied with a survivor match that I died in. Killer matches, I'm happy with hook states and high BP. The sliding scale of satisfaction varies by player.

Sadly I took the bait on this one, Congrats costurning you win the forum ego award.

I'll add this one to my collection of jabs, thanks. I'm not the one making posts about one bad match like the forum is my personal blog, nor am I using words like cringe or dense to speak to people. But you do you.

One of Decisive Strike's main appeals is its efficacy at preventing tunneling.

This one doesn't say what you want it to.

Horvath: We decided to put a timer on Decisive Strike as one of the solutions to Decisive Strike being used too often, we tried 2 minutes internally and found that players were able to use DS a long time after being unhooked, where it no longer serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed

This one comes closer, however, a perk having a specific function doesn't mean that that function is its only function.

    Additionally…

We aren't talking about the first iteration of it are we?

That post is 7 years old and pertains to a DS that didn't deactivate upon conspicuous action.

And before you say 'well it shows their intent': Just like the intent of DS was changed after its release, it has gone through changes and iterations since, and there's no indication that their intent for DS is still the same.

Again, I ask you: If it's meant to be anti-tunnel, why does it only fire once? Surely, if it's an anti-tunnel perk, it'd work if the killer chases you off-hook twice in a row, right?

Alright, i tried. I'm gonna bow out. If you want to completely ignore the devs literally saying that its designed for anti-tunnel, then there is no way i can have any kind of meaningful discussion with you.
