Official DLC Concept Dossier
SECTION 1: THE KILLER – THE HERMIT (Sasha Popov)
Character Backstory: The Ashes of the Taiga
For Sasha Popov, life was measured in simple, honest comforts. He was a fisherman, enduring the biting Siberian cold to provide for his wife named maria and two young children, a bright-eyed boy named Ivan and a gentle girl named Anastasia. Walking home from the docks one evening after a monthly coastal fishing shift, the heavy scent of smoke caught the wind. Sasha quickened his pace, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his ribs. When he broke through the tree line, his world was already ending. The house was engulfed in a roaring, furious inferno. Above the crackle of splintering wood, he heard them: the piercing, agonizing screams of his wife and their children crying out for help. Sasha charged forward, desperate to tear down the front door with his bare hands. But before he could reach the threshold, the roof groaned and collapsed inward. The screams were instantly silenced under a mountain of burning ash. Sasha fell to his knees in the snow, his mind fracturing under the weight of a silent, suffocating grief. He could never return to civilization, he fled deep into the untamed winter forest, building a rustic log cabin out of raw survival instinct. Five years passed, and nature reclaimed him. His hair grew into a wild mane of brown and grey, his hands grew calloused and dirty, and his teeth wore down into jagged, serrated edges from using them as a tool to bite through thick ropes and roots when he lacked equipment. He wore patched winter rags and a dirty gold wedding band he could never bring himself to take off. Inside his cabin, time stood still. He lived surrounded by ghosts. He meticulously preserved what little survived the fire: his wife’s unburnt dresses, her matching ring resting on his bedside table, and the charred, soot-stained toys of his children. On the mantle stood a line of soot-damaged photographs—smiling faces of his mother, his wife, and his kids—mirrored by more pictures in the kitchen and bedroom. His father had hated having his picture taken, leaving Sasha with no visual memory to frame on the wall. All Sasha had left of him was a heavy winter coat pulled from the wreckage of the burnt house. Whenever the isolation of the frozen wilderness threatened to swallow Sasha whole, he would bury his face into the collar of that coat, breathing in the fading, familiar scent of pine and salt water. To survive, he began to steal from nearby settlements, snatching a rusted hatchet from a woodpile, blankets, and trinkets, never harming the souls he stole from. He wasn't a monster; he was just a lost soul who missed his family. One freezing evening, Sasha stood at the edge of the woods, watching a local family play in the deep snow. He watched in silence as the parents ushered their children inside for dinner, a bitter ache blooming in his chest as he remembered how his own kids used to play exactly like that. As he was walking back into the deep woods a loud, piercing scream tore through the winter air from the direction of the house. His instinct took over, as the memory of the fire flashed in his mind. He wasn't going to be too late this time. Sasha spun on his heel and sprinted back toward the house, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he prepared to fight whatever was hurting them. But as he ran, the winter air grew impossibly thick. A dark, unnatural fog rolled across the snow, swallowing the house, the trees, and the light. The family inside was perfectly safe. But Sasha was gone. He went into the fog, his rusted hatchet gripped tightly, forever running toward a scream he could never save.
Menu Character Select Portrait:
- Visual Portrait: A static, high-contrast illustration. Sasha's body is slouched and turned to the side, but his head is turned at an angle, his dark, hollow brown eyes staring directly out of the portrait at you.
- Select Screen Description:
A tragic, high-skill stealth and mobility Killer. The Hermit uses his passive Blind Bliss to choke the map in a blinding deep fog, limiting visibility to 12 meters. Dropping onto all fours activates Primal Instinct, reducing his Terror Radius to zero and allowing him to unleash a violent Primal Pounce to slam Survivors into objects, inflicting heavy wounds and blinding panic.
Killer Mechanics & Powers:
- Weapon: Stolen Rusted Hatchet. A tool taken from a family near his forest. He did not kill them; he only took what he needed to survive.
- Passive Ability: Blind Bliss (The Deep Fog): As long as The Hermit is in the trial, an oppressive Siberian fog rolls across the map. Visual range is severely reduced past 12 meters. Survivors cannot scout long lines of sight.
- Active Power: Primal Instinct: Press and hold the Power button to drop heavily onto all fours. While active, your Terror Radius drops to 0 meters, your movement speed increases, and your camera viewpoint drops closer to the ground. Within 16 meters, survivors can hear low growls and whispered Russian.
- Special Attack: Primal Pounce: While on all fours, press the Attack button to launch forward in a violent leap. If you collide with a Survivor, you slam into them and carry them forward.
- The Impact: If you hit a wall or solid object while holding them, they are slammed against it, instantly injuring them and applying Deep Wound and Primal Fear.
- The Struggle: If you miss a wall and skid to a halt in the open, the Survivor is thrown to the ground and must immediately hit 3 difficult, rapid-fire Skill Checks to avoid triggering the Deep Wound bleed-out and Primal Fear.
- Status Effect: Primal Fear: Affected Survivors groan in pain 50% louder (stacking with normal injury sounds). Their Skill Check success zones to shrink by 20% on generators and healing. Lasts 60 seconds or until healed to full.
Memento Mori: Fractured Humanity:
The Survivor lies on their back, gasping. The Hermit stands over them, raising his rusted hatchet. Suddenly, he freezes. Staring down at the Survivor's terrified face, his sanity briefly returns. His hand trembles, and he drops his axe into the dirt. He takes two stumbling steps backward, his breathing turning ragged. The survivor, utterly confused and terrified, begins to scramble to their feet backward to escape. The Hermit suddenly grips the sides of his head, covering his ears tightly. The audio of the match abruptly muffles, replaced by a chaotic, echoing mix of audio: the crackle of a roaring fire, a little girl's piercing scream, and his family crying out for him. He drops to his knees, tilting his head back, and lets out a gut-wrenching, agonizing scream. His eyes snap open—devoid of any remaining humanity, burning with a pure, feral frenzy. He drops onto all fours and leaps directly onto the Survivor, slamming them flat against the ground. He snatches his rusted hatchet off the ground and violently hacks into the Survivor's torso repeatedly, his movements erratic and wild. To finish the kill, he drops the weapon, leans down, and viciously bites the Survivor's neck, tearing away. He slowly stands back up, wiping his mouth with his dirty, calloused hand, slouching back into his baseline hunter stance.
Sasha's Environmental Voice Lines (The Photographs):
Whenever Sasha stands close to any of the family photographs inside the two-story cabin, a random line plays from his perspective:
- Line 1 (For Anastasia): "Доченька..." (Do-chen-ka...) — "Baby girl..."
- Line 2 (For Ivan): "Мой большой мальчик..." (Moy bol-shoy mal-chik...) — "My big man..."
- Line 3 (For Maria): "Любовь моя, я так скучаю..." (Lyoo-bov mo-ya, ya tak skoo-cha-yoo...) — "My love, I miss you so much..."
- Line 4 (For his mother): "Здравствуй, мама." (Zdrav-stvooy, ma-ma.) — "Hello, mamma."
(I don’t know what else to put for his other voice lines, give me ideas please.)
Unique Killer Perks:
- Scourge Hook: Sentimental Value: At the start of the Trial, up to 4 random hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks. You see their auras in white. When a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, any Survivor within 6 meters of any totem, or currently interacting with a totem (cleansing/blessing), suffers from the Exposed status effect for 25/30/35 seconds.
- Jagged Edge: When you hit a Survivor with a basic attack, the time it takes for them to complete the Mend action (if they have Deep Wound) or a Heal action is increased by 15/20/25%. While a Survivor is actively healing or mending, they experience a faint audio and visual heartbeat as if they are on the edge of your Terror Radius, throwing off their concentration.
- Scavenger’s Eye: Whenever a Survivor unlocks a Chest or begins using an Item (Med-kit, Flashlight, Toolbox), their location is pinged by a Loud Noise Notification. Items used within your Terror Radius deplete their charges 10/15/20% faster.
SECTION 2: THE SURVIVOR – EMANUEL HERNAD
Character Backstory: The World Traveler:
To Emmanuel, a map wasn’t just a piece of paper; it was an invitation. A proud Mexican-American photographer with an unquenchable thirst for discovery, he spent his life saving every dollar to travel the world. He didn't just want to see iconic landmarks; he wanted to understand the soul of every place he visited. More importantly, he never went alone. Emmanuel always brought his family and friends along, documenting every laugh, every misadventure, and every breathtaking sight through the lens of his trusty camera and his stylized journal. To celebrate his milestone 18th birthday, his family and friends flew him all the way to Russia so he could celebrate adulthood in his own unique way. Fascinated by the country’s deep, melancholic lore, Emmanuel spent an afternoon exploring a quiet museum of Russian literature and history. He stood alone in a dimly lit exhibit, leaning in closely to study the intricate metalwork of an ancient, weathered helmet. The history behind it felt heavy, almost tragic. Suddenly, the quiet of the museum was broken. He heard his brother’s voice echoing clearly from the back of the exhibit, calling his name and telling him to come look at something in the next room. Emmanuel smiled, stepped away from the glass case, and walked through the archway into the adjoining gallery. But the room he stepped into wasn't filled with artifacts. The temperature plummeted instantly, as the polished museum floors turned into deep, crunching dirt, and a thick, oppressive fog swallowed the walls. He called out for his brother, but his voice was drowned out by the distant, low growling of something malevolent in the dark fog. Emmanuel was never seen again, leaving behind a family who would return home with an empty plane ticket and his favorite journal, mourning a son who vanished on his 18th birthday.
Menu Character Select Portrait:
- Visual Portrait: A bright, high-contrast illustration. Emmanuel is facing forward, smiling directly at the player. His travel camera is hanging in front of his neck, and his hands are resting on the sides of the camera body, frozen right as he is about to raise it to take a photo.
- Select Screen Description:
A resilient, highly collaborative young survivor. Emmanuel Hernad uses his passion for exploration and deep family bonds to keep his teammates alive. His perks, Snapshot, Milestone Birthday, and Guiding Light, turn his mistakes into critical killer tracking data, grant him endgame speed, and allow him to see crucial looping paths clearly even through the thickest fog.
Visual & Audio Design Constraints:
- Head: Natural light brown, semi-curly hair peeking out from beneath a vibrant red baseball hat worn forward. The tips and front fringes of his hair are dyed a distinct green.
- Torso: A thick, warm dark blue knitted sweater. Hanging around his neck is his travel camera. Resting just below the camera strap is a silver necklace of the Holy Mary.
- Legs & Feet: Loose, baggy dark green cargo pants. Heavy-duty snow boots with fluffy white fur lining visible around the ankles.
- Special Audio Constraint: Emmanuel’s travel camera makes a distinct, sharp clacking noise when he runs. This sound is completely localized and audible only to the Survivor player to build immense psychological tension during a chase.
Emmanuel's Complete Dialogue Sheets: (I don’t speak perfect Spanish, so this is the best I got)

- Line 2: "Don't worry, you're safe."
- Line 3: "Happy birthday to me I guess...(heh)."
- Line 4: "Let's get out of here!"
Unique Survivor Perks:
- Snapshot: After completing generator repairs for a total of 30 seconds, Snapshot activates. The next time you scream or trigger a Loud Noise Notification, the Killer’s aura is revealed to only you for 3/4/5 seconds. Deactivates once the aura reading ends.
- Milestone Birthday: When you are the Last Survivor remaining in the trial, or when the Exit Gates are powered, you gain a 3/4/5% Haste status effect. Additionally, your scratch marks hide permanently for the rest of the match.
- Guiding Light: You are immune to the Blindness status effect. When within the Killer's Terror Radius (or inside Sasha's Deep Fog passive), the auras of all dropped Pallets, and survivors that are within 8/12/16 meters are revealed to you.
SECTION 3: THE MAP – THE FORGOTTEN TAIGA
Environment & Ambiance:
A highly claustrophobic, dark winter pine forest in Siberia covered in a thick blanket of snow. The forest layout is significantly denser than Mother's Dwelling, with pine branches weaving tightly overhead to lock Sasha’s deep fog close to the frozen floor. The map features animal tracks, heavy human footprint markings on all fours, and scattered charred artifacts from Sasha's burnt home (such as toys embedded in snowbanks or old clothing hanging like ghosts from branches). Hooks are uniquely crafted out of dark forest wood tangled with soot-stained children's toys and tattered clothing.
Main Landmark: The Two-Story Shifting Cabin:
A large, rustic log cabin built from dark, weathered timber. To disorient players and disrupt map memorization, the cabin completely changes its spawning location on the map (not on walls of the map though) for every trial.
- First Floor: Features a cold stone fireplace with a mantle lined with soot-damaged family photos. Covered in animal rugs and mismatched blankets.
- Second Floor: Features Sasha's messy bed stacked with cloth and animal hides. His wife's wedding ring sits resting on the nightstand. The walls are pinned with photos of Ivan, Anastasia, and Maria. Players can drop down through a broken floor section directly back into the dense trees.
Interactive Hazard: The Frozen Pond:
A tactical shortcut through the map that serves as a high-stakes audio hazard. It operates in two distinct, progressive stages:
- Stage 1 (Solid Ice): Running or walking across the pond creates crisp, echoing crunching and scraping sounds that cut cleanly through the forest silence.
- Stage 2 (Fractured Ice): As multiple players run across the pond over the course of the match, deep spiderweb cracks open across the ice. Every single step taken on the surface now triggers incredibly loud, sharp snapping and groaning audio cues, making stealth entirely impossible and letting killers track targets by ear through the fog.
SECTION 4: HIGH-TIER ADD-ONS & COSMESTICS (im not good with add-ons, sorry)
Very Rare Add-Ons (Highlights):
- The Mother's Portrait: An old photograph kept safely in a metal tin. Effect: While in Primal Instinct, see the auras of all Survivors within 8 meters of any Totem. On-all-fours movement speed is slightly reduced.
- Stolen Winter Blanket: A coarse blanket stolen from a settlement. Effect: When a Survivor is affected by Primal Fear, they can be tracked via Killer Instinct whenever they run, and they cannot see Hooked survivor auras.
- Damaged Briefcase: Sasha's old work briefcase. Effect: Modifies Blind Bliss. The deep fog is so thick that Survivors cannot see the killer's red stain at all within 16 meters.
Ultra-Rare Add-Ons (Strict Count of Two):
- Iridescent Wedding Band: His late wife’s gold ring, polished by the Entity into a glass-like glowing metal. Effect: Whenever a generator is completed, the deep fog of Blind Bliss completely blinds all Survivors (giving them the Blindness status effect) for 30 seconds.
- Iridescent Ember: A piece of charcoal from his ruined home, hardened by the Entity into a burning shard of glass. Effect: Modifies Primal Pounce. If you collide with a Survivor, you do not carry them forward. Instead, you instantly deal one state of damage and inflict Deep Wound, but the power goes on a longer cooldown.
Store Cosmetic Outfits:
- Sasha Popov – "The Last Catch" (Very Rare Linked Set): Shows his life right before the fire. He has a layer of dark fisherman's stubble, and his hair is windswept and matted by ocean spray. He wears a heavy, waterproof black jacket over normal fishing clothes, dark blue jeans with salt rings, and knee-high rubber water boots. The clothing is visibly wet, dripping water droplets onto the ground, and creates a faint sloshing fabric sound when moving. His weapon is a broken metal boat propeller welded onto a rusted iron pipe with frozen seaweed tangled around the blades.
- Emmanuel Hernad – "The Parisian Tourist" (Very Rare Meme Skin): Shows an earlier leg of his world travels. He wears a classic black wool beret on his semi-curly hair and has used an eyeliner pencil to draw a goofy, fake black mustache on his upper lip (his mother was not happy that he used her eyeliner). He wears a white and blue striped vacation shirt, a cross-body bag slung tightly over his back, black trousers, and flat brown walking shoes. His camera and Holy Mary necklace remain around his neck.
- There would be recolors and others.
SECTION 5: CUSTOM CHAPTER TROPHIES / ACHIEVEMENTS
- Adept Hermit: Achieve a Merciless Victory with The Hermit using only his 3 unique perks in a public match.
- Adept Emmanuel: Escape the trial as Emmanuel Hernad using only his 3 unique perks in a public match.
- Remorseful Pounce: As The Hermit, successfully trigger a wall-slam or miss-recovery skill check failure with Primal Pounce to apply the Deep Wound status effect to Survivors 20 times in public matches.
- Say Cheese!: As a Survivor, trigger the Snapshot perk to successfully reveal the Killer's aura to yourself 30 times after repairing generators for the required duration in public matches.
SECRET EASTER EGG: The…Wait what? (ULTRA-RARE RANDOM MORI):
This is an unlisted, secret animation programmed directly into the game files. It functions with absolute, stone-faced seriousness, completely breaking the standard match aesthetics without any acknowledgment.
- Trigger Probability: Completely Random. There are no mechanical conditions or specific player actions required to trigger it. A player might experience the standard, tragic hallucination Mori five times in a row, witness this secret animation twice back-to-back, or not see it again for weeks.
- The Animation:
- The Interruption: The Hermit stands over the downed Survivor, raising his rusted utility hatchet. Suddenly, he freezes.
- The Sigh: His spine violently cracks as his character model snaps upright into a standing position, completely abandoning his creepy, slouched posture. A heavy, deeply exhausted, unscripted Russian sigh echoes through the audio channels: "Я устал..." ("I'm tired...").
- The Draw: With zero dramatic flair, he nonchalantly drops his rusted hatchet flat into the dirt. He reaches deep into the inner flannel lining of his late father's winter coat and pulls out a pristine, black Glock 19.
- The Shot: His dirty, calloused hand grips the slide and pulls it back with a sharp, crisp CLICK-CLACK that cuts cleanly through the trial’s ambient track. He points the sidearm down at the Survivor's head point-blank and fires a single, loud BANG. There are no violent hacking and no animalistic neck biting—just a highly efficient, tactical execution.
- The Reload: While the body lies in the dirt, Sasha smoothly hits the magazine release. The empty magazine drops into the snow or mud. He reaches back into his coat, pulls out a fresh magazine, slides it into the grip with a loud metallic click, and calmly tucks the pistol back into his flannel lining.
- The Return: He bends down, picks up his rusted hatchet, immediately hunches back over into his slouched, paranoid baseline hunter stance, and walks away like a regular, primitive forest monster.
The Entity: In pure confusion, (What the hell just happened?)
