My wishful thinking of a re-reworked Wraith
I would like to share an idea I wrote in some other post, too. I thought it would actually fit to the Wraith, being a predator and everything. I had envisoned it like this:
- The Wraith can now stalk survivors in his invisible state. He does this by simply looking at the survivor in question and slowly fills a meter (He already gets points for stalking someone, might as well add some mechanic to it). When the meter is full, the Wraith may uncloak and activate 'Death's stare/gaze' (Not decided, yet.). 'Death's stare/gaze' causes any survivor he is looking at to slow down drastically- excuse me... considerably or whatever we want to actually call it. Using DbD lingo. It's basically: the survivor is struck by fear of the predator high on his heels, nearly paralyzed by his gaze. This can be altered by add-ons as to make the slow bigger or last longer.
- There are other things I would like to change, since I feel like the balance of the game calls for it. I know that blood is supposed to be a big thing for the Wraith, but I would like to instead make footsteps a thing for him. Where other killers can only see running survivors scratch marks, the Wraith can spot walking survivors scratch marks. You however do not see the scratchmarks when survivors are crouch-walking. The duration of the scratch marks can be discussed further, but I feel like blood itself needs to be looked at in this game. Besides it makes 'Bloodhound' on Wraith quite useless... anyway, moving on.
The Wraith is a very cool concept of a Killer and this would help him reach a higher status, and have great Killer potential. I just feel like right now Wraith is like some others a Killer who can't really kill you, but you'll never get rid of him either. (I know this is my own opinion, but I felt it myself as Wraith. I don't have the true potential to do something about looping, but with my blood tracking I will easily find them again.) I hope this reaches out to you guys in the fog and you think the same as me about our dearest Philip.
Have a lot fun and hope in the fog.
Btw, I thought about new add-ons like these:
- Your 'Death's stare/gaze' takes tremendously longer to charge, but succesful attacks put into the dying state.
- Your 'Death's stare/gaze' exhaust survivors for 30 seconds
- Your 'Death's stare/gaze' strucks your prey with paralyzing fear, locking their view onto you. (Think of how Hag's phantasm traps cause them to look at you.
