New DS affecting OoO
So if the obsession switches mid-game and you are running Object of Obsession doesn't that make the perk useless? If the obsession changes and the perk is only activated if you are the obsession there is no point in running it.

Um what? The only perk it'll make "useless" is Dying Light, the other perks give you more opportunity to actually use them. Remember Me now has the ability to get more stacks on it if it didn't get all of them already, STBFL allows you to get attack cooldown stacks again, PWYF is only able to gain tokens through your obsession so it will now get a semi-buff from this change.
Also OoO won't be useless, it'll just have a slight range decrease which isn't that bad, especially if you're running DS yourself.

Maybe you should actually read what Object of Obsession does. You don't HAVE to be the obsession to get value out of the perk. Here, I'll copy and paste for you.
As the Killer's Obsession, this effect applies to a maximum range of 56/64/72 meters. Otherwise, it applies to a maximum range of 44/56/64 meters.
Even if you are not the obsession you will be able to see the killers aura and reveal your own if you are outside the killers terror radius but within 64 meters. That is still a very large distance.

It makes most obsession perks useless.
Dying Light, Remember me, STBFL, PWYF... all will get trashed.

Only one that will have trouble is dying light. You're delusional if you think the ability to get an obsession back means those will become useless.

If I get my Remember Me stacks and kill the obsession to avoid him being unaffected by said perk and another obsession pops up… I am "delusional"?
If I avoid hitting or killing the obsession most of the game, just to get and keep my stacks from STBFL or PWYF and all of a sudden that obsession switches… I am "delusional"?
Maybe I even choose to pair those perks (STBFL/PWYF) with Rancor, to get a tactical advantage of not hooking him and just Mori him at the end... and still I am "delusional"?
(Feel free to take my questions rethorical if you don't have a decent response.)

You will literally lose PWYF stacks after swinging 3 times, so unless if you want to never regain stacks after your obsession dies, then this indirect buff "ruins the perk". STBFL will take away 2 of your tokens if you just use M1, so being able to regain those stacks and have the full affect of the perk again "ruins the perk". If you didn't get all the Remember Me stacks and you get another chance to get all of them as well as knowing who to pressure based on the obsession, "ruins the perk". Rancor will now allow you to mori a new obsession if they pop up, which of course "ruins the perk".
Maybe I still run these perks because all of them (minus Dying Light, but hey you're an idiot if you ran that in the first place), have been given a new opportunity to be useful again... and that still makes "all the perks get trashed"?
[Feel free to take my question as rhetorical if you don't have a response that I deem to be correct ;-) ]

You have an extremely pessimistic view and it's clear some survivors gave you a bad time once and now to you; they're overpowered or something.
I don't see how having the ability to gain more stacks onto your obsession perk in the event they die or DC is bad at all. It's like being able to make up for a lack of strategizing on your part...if you think DS is that bad just don't tunnel and reduce its affects using certain perks if you're that fed up with it.

Do you remember when everyone said "if BT bothers you, don't camp!"?
That basically became a meme, because it doesn't work in reality. Survivor mains kept claiming it to defend their point, but there are tons of situations that would trigger BT without the fault of the killer.
Same is now for the upcoming DS. "If it bothers you, don't tunnel!"
That won't work either, because both -BT and DS- are just covering up survivor making bad plays/unsafe unhooks.
Survivor get stupid trainingwheels for playing stupid and the killer gets punished for it.
That logic is just plain bad gamedesign.
And it is really pathetic how survivor mains keep defending it this way. No reason, no real arguments, just memes, social stigmatisation and peer pressure.

Which is why it's great DS also gives you training wheels for not managing your obsession perks properly
