Suggestions for Plague

Plague Balance Changes:

  • Fountains no longer heal survivors and instead remove infection and broken status.
  • Increased infection rate of survivors from interactions.
  • Plague is no longer slowed while holding fully charged vomit.
  • Fixed vomit hitbox to be more consistent.

Plague would be in a much better place with some of these changes, I feel. Opinions?

Note: Before anyone says it, no, it's not too early to determine where the killer fits into the 'meta' as far as her ability goes. Dead by Daylight is not a game with a level of complexity that requires weeks or months of testing/trials to accurately nail down a killer's power relative to the standard (nurse, billy, and spirit).

I would be happy with "Plague is no longer slowed while holding fully charged vomit," because that was a nerf she didn't need, and fixing the vomit hitbox so I don't have to watch my vomit go through a survivor without having any affect. I think those two things alone would improve her a lot, and then we could see how it goes from there. Don't want to buff too much and over-correct; small changes can have a big impact.

She’s already pretty powerful these changes would just make her op

    1. Despite my initial thoughts in the ptr I'm ok with the heal.

    2. I find the infection rate ok as is especially with add on's.

    3. Agreed this change would make the plague not so abusable on loops and not force her into being an m1 killer.

    4. Hitboxes are weird but no more so than huntress so I doubt that'll change anytime soon honestly.

I just played a couple of matches with her and I do not have strong perks or add ons and my impression is, she is pretty mediocre.

Rather on the low end of the powerscale.

She is easy to loop, because of the slow down while holding the puke or charging it.

It feels like a Leatherface, that needs to piggy back ride a survivor to have a chance to score a hit with his power.

Spraying over obstacles to counter loops is very inconsistent and feels just like luck.

The survivor gain much more from using fountains than the killer does.

The killers use of a fountain can be a complete waste of time, if he can't engage in a chase fast enough, but survivor are insta healed.

    +1

Even the removal of movement speed nerf would do, it is the thing that makes her unplayable.

    My suggestions:

Since holding the puke forever is really a strange concept, I am ok, with the slow down while holding it, but than the slow down while charging it should be lessen or removed.

Fountains should not insta heal survivor, just remove broken and sickness, or if it should still give a heal up, make it considerable longer to use a fountain.

Make it more rewarding for the Plague to use her power on objects. Right now it feels pretty weak.

Havent played her and only seen a few ptb videos, so i dont kniw how strong her slowing down is,BUT an alternate method to stop her from holding her puke too long would be giving it a time limit.

I'd suggest to make that into a method to cover a huge area in puke at once: holding puke for too long would force her to puke on the floor to create a really large pool of it that stays way longer than the normal.

If she has corrupt purge while you finish cleansing, what if she pukes on you mid cleanse or right after you cleanse? That would be really mean.

It could be good for her though, she can really fall behind in loops and sometimes the Plague just vomits over them.

It takes, like, 6 seconds to cleanse, and she has no idea where you are or where the fountains are (no aura). You, on the other hand, can know exactly when and where she got her Corrupted Purge, so you can play around that.

As the plague currently stands, I don't think she meets the standard of what is considered to be a strong killer (the big 3; nurse, spirit, and billy). She is fun to play and looks incredible, but without a decent number of changes and a revert of her nerf, she'll be relegated to "just ok" status before long.

Ideally, a large variation in killers at the higher ranks is the goal here with some of these suggested changes, especially the first one. Making survivors choose whether to self-care or remain injured against a full movement speed killer would really give her a solid boost. When paired with everything else, it could also elevate her to a higher tier of potential.

Honestly JUST remove the heal from the fountains and even that would be enough to get her to rank 1 viability imo.

I disagree, I'm a killer Main and she is fine the way she is. You just have use a strategy.

Care to elaborate? What strategy or strategies have you found with plague that make her comparable to the three best killers in the game? I'm curious to read what you've discovered.

After the first day of release, all the players who picked the Priestess just tunnel and camp the hooked Survivor with projectile vomit. Out of ~10 hours of gameplay, I've seen her get looped 4 the godz maybe 2 times.

Corrupt Purge is OP. She's basically becomes the Huntress with a flamethrower. Sixty seconds is a long time and should be reduced to 30 Seconds tops. If she can't nail survivors with a long-range insta-hit trail, then whoever is player her is pretty bad. The only counter-play for Survivors is to play "peek-a-boo" around walls and obstacles.

    No me gusta.

Yeah the only change she needs is to revert the MS nerf while holding her m2. That alone will put her back in a very good standing. I really don't understand the last second change to that. It really makes her unfun to play and unfun to play against. See her holding her vomit? Loop. Duck. Just like Huntress. Kinda lame.

Edit: She became very very very add on dependent with that one nerf. Stop making every killer add on dependent.

You can vomit on generators and pallets. I'm thinking some just go around spilling it everywhere without thinking how to come up with a strategy. If you are chasing spew it on an item and remember it. You can see when a survivor touches it and thus you'll know where they are at. When they cleanse, you know the position. When chasing, hope you left a corrupted fountain to drink about 3/4 sec to range attack. I mean c'mon lol. When hooking, go to the corrupt fountain. By the time you come back there will be another survivor and just start blasting away. There are many ways to use this power as an advantage.
