Head On Shouldn't Be an Exhaustion Perk (OLD POST)
The title, have the perk have it's own separate cooldown of 40 seconds at tier 3. Nothing else about the perk would be changed, just the timer not effecting exhaustion. HO as is is too situational and inconsistent for it to be actually effective so I don't know why they decided for it to be exhaustion based, plus if a killer uses Enduring the stun's effects are so minuscule that the perk doesn't do anything.
Edit: Seeing as this somehow resurfaced, let me say this: I do not agree with this buff suggestion anymore because they have made Head On better since it's release. The buff I actually still stand by is that the perk should let you slowly enter lockers 100% quicker, so that way you don't need Quick and Quiet to use it effectively.

The reason, I assume, for it being an exhaustion perk is so you can't sprint burst away after stunning the killer. You could probably gain some massive distance if that were possible.

i think the exhaustion cooldown should just be reduced to 20 (or sthg similar) seconds...
its like @Saint_Ukraine said. the whole point is to prevent you from sprintbursting away asap after getting the killer stun, which would result in you pretty much getting a free getaway.

No, chaining a locker bunn with sprint burst would be insane
10 -
Why not keep it as exhaustion and take away the 3 second requirement but always exhaust when you leave a locker (regardless of if you get the stun or not)
would make it an exhaustion perk that can turn lockers into pallets and gives the killer options for counterplay. That seems reasonable to me.
would also give merit to Iron Maiden.

If it wasn't an exhaustion perk it would be ridiculous. You could sit inside a locker and stun the killer then sprint burst off or whatever. Then simply get into another locker with 3 seconds to spare and do the same thing. If ALL you need is 3 seconds you could spend the entire game in a locker literally.

Agreed, It shouldn't be exhaustion perk, also it shouldn't have a cooldown. It already has a 3 second prep, shouldn't have a cooldown also.
1 -
I don't think you should have to be in a locker to trigger it or have the 3 second prep. Should just hit the button anytime near the killer and they get the stun.
2 -
Did you not read the OP? I said it'd have a 40 second cooldown, but it would be a perk cooldown similar to DWM, I'm not saying it should be usable all the time, just not be tied to exhaustion.

You guys must not use Sprint Burst if you think you could use it after using Head On (if the latter was not an Exhaustion perk). The time to get out of the locker (which is a rushed action requiring th sprint key) takes up the first 1.25 seconds of the Sprint Burst in animation and lack of momentum. That’s already not very much Sprint Burst left. It’s less efficient than stunning a killer at a pallet and then walking to get Sprint Burst off of 1% Exhaustion.
I think a cooldown separate from Exhaustion would be justified in a world where the current game mechanics were smoother and more robust.

which would be good for the killer because if you are in a locker, you arnt on a generator.

The perk should be on a separate cooldown that does not reset when in chase. That is all it needs. Not exhaustion but acting the same in chase. OR they should just add it it's own sprint burst effect when u actually stun the killer because that is the moto of almost all exhausting perks - there is a base effect + short spint. That is if its gonna stay an exhausting perk. EIther one of these will work for me but in the current state it is just a weak perk and really a lost opportunity to make a really fun perk which we have't seen for few dlc now for the survivors. /Man this perk would be such great counter to the basement camp if the killer is not fast enough to come back down there/

I thought this was obvious when I first heard about the perk but apparently not. Imagine using Head On in the shack then using Lithe out of the window. Or head on in the crotus penn asylum then balanced landing out of the hole in the wall.
1 -
Use Head On and Sprint Burst away… yea, sure, sounds perfectly balanced, right?
*facepalm*

Why skimp? Let's just keep the name, but instead of a locker, you get a steamroller and get to run the killer over and win the game. That's sure to be fun, right? Right?

Exaggerate much?
Not quite.
You all act like the Killer is this helpless person in the game.
2 -
And you act like a person who only plays survivor and hasn't played as a high level killer.
At Rank 1, organized survivors would abuse this utterly.

You know that you should know what your talking about before you dismiss an idea, because if you’ve actually used SB before being able to pair it up with HO is not as easy or as effective as you claim it to be.

Can someone tell me the last time someone actually used SB tho?
As for OP no exhaustion/reduced exhaustion would do the trick

What would you propose?

@Luigifan64 make the stun start while you’re rushing out but increase the stun one second.
1 -
That could work, possibly in conjunction with a lower exhaust time?

I play Killers for dailies and main the Hag. I'm a proud Survivor Main.
Killers aren't helpless in this game.
If they are getting owned by Rank 1 Survivors, then they aren't Rank 1 killers.
I haven't been Rank 1 Survivor since January. When I was Rank 1, I was NEVER EVER fortunate to run into a group of other Survivors who were Rank 1 with Adrenaline, DS, BT, SC equipped with Flashlights, Toolboxes, and Insta-heals.
As much as those type of survivors are brought up on the forums, I have yet to run into more than 3-4 rounds/trials where Survivors played like the Gods Killer Mains claim they are.

It shouldn't be an exhaustion perk but it should have a cooldown longer than 60 seconds (e.g. 140, 120, 100 seconds).
Also make it so it can be used with idle crows for all the default dwights.

Nah. Wouldn't be that fun as a killer if everyone runs Headon with an exhaustion perk like Sprintobursto. Even if Headon has counterplay if a combo like this works it would become meta and not a fun at all.
The only thing I would discuss is that the stun of headon procs once the animation is over so you get the full value of a 3 second stun.

exactly that would be way to strong imagine getting a free sprintburst after a decisive strike... thats what it would feel like on a 40 second cooldown

You can't use SB out of a locker though (as previously stated), the animation of jumping out/stunning the killer takes up over half of the 3 second haste SB provides, meaning the boost you get is minimal at best. Also, this post is super old, Head On has been made better since then. The only thing I'd change about it now is to make it let you slowly enter a locker 100% faster, so you wouldn't need Quick and Quiet to use it.

Dudes, this post is from 2019, Head On has been made better since its release and the only thing I'd have changed is letting you slowly enter lockers 100% faster; meaning you won't need Quick and Quiet to use it.

If by "counterplay" you mean "crossing your fingers and hoping the servers are in your favour so a locker halfway across the room doesn't stun you," then sure, it has counterplay.
