Should Trapper get buffs?

I don't know how you could buff him but I feel as though trapper could use some buffs especially with swf and traps being extremely easy to see plus a survivor can just follow you and disarm them ect, so what do you guys think am I just trash at trapper because tbh I barely play him bc of this and when I do barely ever get a 4k so idk if I am just complaining for nothing or he actually needs buffs.

    he should.

    thats a hot topic on these forums for quite some time now. trapper is not where he could be...

    here's what i'd change asap if i could:

    • starts with all traps in hand
    • has 10 traps in total
    • the ability to carry all traps at once
    • can set / disarm traps on the ground with a very fast animation
    • trap escape RNG reduced OR made into a whole animation with no RNG involved

    i feel like he'd be a much better killer than now...

    I would like a trapper buff.

    Example:

    With Addons he can use other traps,too.

    His traps have a low - high range connect system.

    His traps will be connect with the nearest wall,

    if they are in range.

    His Traps are more hidden.

    Like Junkrat traps in overwatch.

    The thing that makes him weak is that most trappers use the time at the beginning of the match to place traps, which allows the survivors to gen rush easier. Time management is just really bad for him. I still think he's a really decent killer, however.

    Absolutely. Someone mentioned on the forums a concept from I believe overwatch (I know nothing about that game) that the traps should be mostly buried. He definitely needs to start with all his traps. The traps should be changed from the circular ones to the ones similar to frost in rainbow six siege.


    Too many traps can be avoided by simply hugging the wall as survivor and the killer can not avoid them. Another thing is instead of flat RNG the survivor needs to attempt a minimum of 2 escapes. He also needs more traps. 10 is a good amount.

    I always hoped for them to bring in a passive chance for disarming a trap to damage a survivor. There needs to be that risk every time they disarm. Maybe 10%/20% or something like that. I seriously don’t think this would be op because you have to choose to disarm it.

    Trapper should get some of these buffs that are mentioned the most ironic thing is that most of the trapper buffs listed in some shape or form are also addons for trapper sadly lol.

    Yes he seriously needs buffs. He should be able to carry unlimited traps and start with all of his traps and have a trap reset animation. Breaking traps will have skillchecks and take longer and escaping traps should take 10 seconds instead of rng or 5 seconds if a friend helps.

    Thoufh removing the limit on how many he can carry would be nice. It really shouldn’t be required to use an add on to not have to go on a scavenger hunt every time he uses his power.


    I also agree that getting out of the traps shouldn’t be rng.

    I think he should be able to have all his traps with him.

    That's part of the struggle playing Trapper, the first minute of the round, you are trying your best to set up a trap in a discrete area (grassy knoll) and find another trap to grab and start looking for Survivors.

    The buffs he need are the one that help him save time. Like letting him reset traps that's already on the ground without picking them up first.

    All his traps should cause "hindered until fully healed" by default.

    These are beartraps snapping at the survivors legs for crying out loud.

    That alone would help him a lot.

    Trapper only needs two things:

    1. Blood Coil effect becomes a passive that he always has
    2. He can carry two traps at a time by default.

    Anymore than that and he'd be far too strong.

    Trapper needs to waste to much time collecting his traps from all across the map.

    That game mechanic is totally outdated and a relict from the past, when the came was much slower and not every survivor had all teachables accessible.


    Btw... they never fixed the reduced effective size of beartraps, despite admitting on stream that it was unintentional.

    Beartraps should be able to block chokepoints without the survivor squeezing past them, but the chasing killer gets trapped.

    Survivors getting free from traps should be slowed for a certain duration, (obviously not hindered so it would stack with hindered). This would solve the problem of traps"doing nothing" to injured survivors.

    -I think the default brightness of traps should be looked at.

    -most of his addons focus on the disarm/sabotage time instead of adding interesting effects, so i think they should be looked at.

    -anybody say bigger trapper pockets already?

    -the size of the trap trigger area should be readjusted so that survivors cannot clip through the trap and not get trapped.

    -Speaking of trapping survivors, the survivors should snap to the traps location, not the other way round, this behavior totally busts his ultrarare.

    You put a trap in a good spot and on reset it is out of place.

    I'm also in mild shock. The only reasonable buff I want to see now is to have the amount of traps based off of the size of the map (the number of tiles divided by some number).

    Trapper should have 2 default traps in his hands by default

    As of now hes forced to use one addons for Trapper bags or he has to waste so much time going around = Gens gets done

    The devs sadly did not understand this, no one plays him on high rank

    Now that new killers like Plague has been released its clearly they are better than Trapper by miles without wasting time finding traps like trapper

    1. Remove sack addons and allow him to carry 3
    2. Make it so he can set/unset traps without picking them back up.
    3. Make it so escaping a trap is one bar with a decent timer on, no RNG.
    4. Increase the number of traps with bigger maps, pallets scale with map size why not traps?

    the only buff that he needs its that he can activate the trap that its on the floor without picking it up and place it again that it takes him less time

    He is better then before.But still weak or medium killer.He is at least good with the best pink addons when traps set her self with out doing nothing from you side and hurt surv when try disarm trap.But with out this addons is weak as fk imo.
