Survivor red ranks empty?
Out of 20 games tonight, the only red rank players I encountered were the killers.
The highest rank survivor I found was rank 7.
Most of the time I was matched with green or brown ranks.
What is the point of being in red ranks if you never get matched with other red rank players?
Like I sustained a chase with a nurse for over two minutes, but my rank 17 team didn't do a single gen because they couldn't handle Ruin. I finally got hooked and they just sat still trying to do a gen on the other side of the map. They still hadn't finished it by the time I died. Of course, this was a depip.
With this ranking system, the game has become a deeply unsatisfying chore.

I saw someone else post that they can't get past certain ranks. Like the pips are influenced by how good your team and killer is and if you have a potato killer who takes 3 gens to catch one person and tunnels them off hook, no one's pipping and probably depipping. I've had multiple occasions where I was close to pipping and haven't. Two of my emblems were nearly the next up (very close to the next little dash comma thing), but since they weren't on the mark I didn't gain those points so to speak. I've been stuck at rank 10.

blame the devs cuz this new system is trash survivors dc killer loses pip survivors die on first hook killer loses pip the fact killers need 9 hooks is stupid as hell this hole update is trash and devs sure as hell didnt listen

I blame the survivor emblems. They compete with each other more then the killer.

Disconnects aren't screwing over the DCer. Its screwing over those staying in game. They can't pip if they don't get alt/coop pts. This is the survivors silent protest to Legion and Plague. Most all of these players are either solo or 2 man SWFs.
Survivors at rank 20 are constantly being matched with rank 1-5 killers. At rank 9 I got grouped with a rank 1 killer 2 rank 20 survivors and a rank 16 survivor. That was such a meme.
Killers can't pip because of DCs robbing them of hook events and chaser scoring. They also don't understand the new system or don't care and want to tunnel and camp anyway.
Survivors can't pip because killers are tunneling even harder and people DCing means no alt/coop points.
My first response to the patch was "What did they break today" and wow wee! This update is the equivalent of dropping glass on concrete lol. I'm not even talking about DS either.

This is a typical game for me. The balance is totes fair.
I keep seeing killers say "this is more balanced". lawl.
Its no longer rewarding to play either side. No one is going to keep playing this. If they do, they're masochistic and need to seek therapy.

With the adjusted emblems combo'd with the horrid queues, whether it be terrible ping or just extended queues in general its honestly making this game unpleasant. I use to play this game hours on end, then decided to take a small break after that disaster they called legion.
Came back for plague, actually like the Dlc tbh is nice, but these changes to the emblems and matchmaking have made this a literal hell to try and have fun in now. Honestly contemplating putting it back on the shelf until the servers come out. Because as much as i love dodging 300 ping 10 times in a row to only get dodged by the good ping. Let me tell you how much fun Ive had since returning.
Its a shame to see this at this state in the game. 3 years and the matchmaking is legit back to year 1. Get it together BHVR.

I came back about a month before The Plagues release. The DLC is beautiful. Great perks too. But this emblem system and match making system.. i'd rather step on a rusty nail.

I've been experiencing the same thing all day as well.
That said, I disagree with most the people here. I've had no problem ranking both my killer and survivor back up to rank 1. I think they're both adequately harder. More of the issue here is people that were higher rank than they should have been and the new system is finally lining them up where they should have been to begin with.

Making the ranking harder is one thing. Making it make sense is another. And in it's current state it makes no sense. I agree ranking up was easy before. No arguement there, but currently it feels more tedious then anything.
Not saying rank really means anything, but still if it's going to be a mechanic it needs to make sense and feel rewarding. Not pointless, all it does now is clump most of the player base together.
Being a solo player it's a ######### fest for us. Honestly it's just more tempting than ever to squad up. And as much as people complain about swf you would figure they would make solo play more appealing, not damn it to oblivion.

It might be SLIGHTLY too rough on the survivor ranking side but I think it's pretty close. Killer feels just right aside from black pipping when I 4k with zero gens done. Something needs to guarantee at least a pip when you completely decimate the other side.

Survivor emblems are now more dependent on what other survivors do, on top of what the killer does and survivors are competing even more for emblems. In every game I am pretty sure for every survivor that pipped, another survivor paid the price with a de-pip. For solo queue it gets even worse and what sucks is more times than I can count I just missed pipping by a single notch - but it's all I could do. Being hard to pip is nice, but it is far too easy for survivors to de-pip now.
So yeah red ranks are going to be full of killers now and not many survivors. I don't see too many red ranked survivors now (in fact I have not seen a single red ranked survivors in my matches, but half of them featured a red ranked killer). Which is another problem, with red ranked killers getting matched with purple/green survivors, you think those survivors are going to pip? They'll be constantly locked down in those ranks while the killer gets to advance.
