Please buff Calm Spirit

There are a few Killer Perks and one Ability, which are absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! I am referring to: Infectious Fright, Rancor, Whispers (and then there’s Tinkerer, Surveillance and Bitter Murmur but unfortunately those are issues which cannot be solved by Calm Spirit so don’t mind them) and as far as the Ability goes, I am talking about Feral Frenzy (Killer Instinct) .

All of these show the Killer where you are (or where the prop you interacted with is, as far as Tinkerer/Surveillance is concerned)  and there is nothing you can do about it. Every other Perk/Ability in this game has a counter and even if they don’t, they are not as detrimental as those I mentioned above or they come with a drawback. For example, in order for Sprint Burst to be effective, you will have to save it by not running until the time comes, which slows you down. I wouldn’t mind if NOED were permanent and not a Hex Perk as long as it still only gets to trigger when the last Generator is completed (it is an endgame Perk so it should be fine).

That being said, I propose the following buff to Calm Spirit so as to counter the obnoxious aspects of the mentioned Perks/Ability:


Calm Spirit

Animals seem to trust you as they often stay calm in your presence.

Reduces chances of alerting Crows by 80/90/100 %.

Your calm spirit can overcome the urge to scream as well as all of the Killer’s attempts to determine the Location of your physical structure.


Clarifications:  

  • by “your physical structure” I meant your Survivor’s body
  • this Perk mainly counters all notification bubbles EXCEPT FOR those which appear when a Generator is completed or when you get caught in a Bear Trap, as both of those are more related to PROPS than they are to your Survivor’s physical structure (The Trapper knows where he laid down his Traps and  they are also shown in the notification bubble so as soon as he hears one triggering he knows where to go); it also counters Killer Instinct and Whispers, as they are related to your Survivor’s body and they refer to “Location”
  • Calm Spirit counters Iron Maiden too, as it is the scream which reveals your location, it is a notification bubble and unlike the Trapper’s Traps which are also revealed when a Survivor is caught, the Locker is not seen in the bubble (so it is related to the Survivor’s body)
  • as far as Whispers is concerned, it will only light up if a Survivor who does not run Calm Spirit is within Whispers range; if all Survivors run Calm Spirit, Whispers will never light up
  • the Perk prevents all screams, including those that can be heard when you get hooked or when you vomit (the vomit itself can still be heard)
  • when hooked, the other Survivors will still see the bubble and your Aura (since currently the Survivors can also see you when you run Calm Spirit and get downed), but no scream will be heard
  • failing a Skill Check, Sabotaging a Hook, Rushed Vaults, Cleansing a Hex Totem are not related to your physical structure, but to props
  • this Perk affects everything that says “Reveal Survivor’s Location” except Auras
  • if someone fails a healing Skill Check on you, the Location won’t be revealed to the killer (whereas this healing action involved you screaming due to pain inflicted to your physical structure)


Please do not come up with arguments such as “It is ridiculous that a Perk cancels the Killer’s ability” because this is not true. The Doctor for example can still use Restraint addons and cancel the perk. In addition, there is a scoring event. Moreover, his power is not canceled as he can still shock you at loops and you still have to recover from madness. Same goes for the Legion: he might not see those with Calm Spirit but he can still jump over pallets and keep stabbing a Survivor until he gets downed. Racor can still be used to mori the Obsession.

Now Calm Spirit counters those disgusting mechanics and it is not as situational as it was before. I bet the Killers would prefer people to equip Calm Spirit instead of one of their meta perks.
