MoM needs to be removed
Thanks Devs for another broken perk.
Put Mom with Dead Hard and Borrowed Time and you're in a very very frustrating game.
I see more and more the new meta coming in my games and this is no joke. Old DS was already awful, but MoM has become the new replacement.
Welcome to the new Dark Times!!!

Bait dead hard, don't tunnel, play a killer called hill billy
3 -
More like welcome to instant down killers or all m1 killers bringing a mori
10 -
I don't wanna play Billy or run moris. The new DS was such an air breather and now the games become very frustrating again... but this time x2 :(
2 -
Exactly, since yesterday I have had to pull out my steamroller killer builds with purple or higher addons in order to be able to even compete with swfs running all these second chance metas.
I used to only use these overwhelming killer builds after a really bad game in order to untilt myself, however now that we have such a huge amount of ppl running m.o.m with all the other metas already in play(Not even counting insta heals) l am finding these builds to be necessary now rather than the exception or the option!
See, and this is where the toxicity in the dbd community comes from. Survivors run these bullshit builds and give the killer next to no chance if they play it well. Killers get mad and camp, tunnel, run there own meta perks and ultra rare addons and moris in retaliation. Then the survivors call foul play on killers for being so sweaty and claim that the game isnt fair and the devs cater to the majority (Which is survivors by a long shot!) and more ######### ideas just keep filtering through. Its a broken yet fun system that is as equally frustrating as it is enjoyable so... Were between a rock and a hard place.
Until the Dead by Daylight community as a whole decides to quit pushing so hard to make one side OP and try and promote a fun balanced game, even at competitive ranks; we will never see this game change for the better 😥

@LightsOut88 Maybe if you see this builds neccessary, then its maybe the games way to tell you that this rank is to high for your actual skill-level? I really dont want to be rude, its just as it is.
I am stuck in the purple ranks and thats ok i guess.
As for @bendermac
The dark times are long past... have you experienced pallet vacuums, the ultra long loops like the old cow-tree, or the time when a SWF group could tell each other which perks the killer uses?
The dark times are long gone. I really would like to see the distribution of killer and survivor ranks atm, but from what i see there are far more red killers than red survivors.

Please make sure to take both sides of the feedback. Thanks!

I see what your saying, however I hit rank 1 a few months back and am now stuck on a hard rank 11. I really feel like its not my skill level that has diminished; its the new emblem system that makes ranking down much harder! I have to adapt to it still, and I am not liking it.
As far as my builds go though, you may have overlooked where I mentioned using them against SWF running all metas x4. I agree in a normal game thats not SWF, a decent killer will be able to still do well without the steamroller builds. My point was entirely that the bully builds are becoming more of a standard way to play because of all the second chances survivors get in a match. Its going to have the reverse effect on the game and just make it worse for everyone? More Dc's and more toxicity.
1 -
@Hoodedfengm1n Meh, I want to see killer variety. Not even more Hillis.
3 -
People complain too much.
Billy
Cannibal
Nurse
Huntress
Plague
Legion
Shape
The better killers get through mettle no problem
Trapper can grab someone from a trap and hinder mettle stacks
Clown gets hits really quickly and can run exposed add ons to make mettle of man irrelevant.
Spirit gets hits really quickly so mettle isn't too bad with her.
As with any game ever, better killers deal with meta changes better. With rank and meta, not all killers are equal.
6 -
Worst case scenario
SV running MoM, Adrenalin, SC, DH and MedKit with Insta heal
gets his 3rd hit and MoM activates
he can heal to full -> gets hit -> uses insta heal -> gets hit -> 5th gen pops and his Adrenaline kicks to full health again -> gets hit -> MoM is active -> uses Dead Hard -> close to exit gets hit again -> escape
Add BT to this and you're in for a treat
4 -
Yeah, and what about people who paid for this?
1 -
eh the only people I can see running that build is either try hard people or toxic people who want to ruin someone’s game. And to me at least you don’t get those people often, especially if they run solo
2 -
He used Dead Hard after his Adrenaline triggered in a chase?
3 -
Too bad
4 -
There's no good or fair argument why MoM should stay untouched.
8 -
Word, cause the rank system changed and survivors are sabotaging each other, it's pretty bad.
0 -
The perk is good how it is, they are just main killers crying for a one time use perk.
8 -
I hope you also take into account the number of people using MoM. Because in my games I rarely see MoM used. I am either Solo or part of a 2 Man SWF, but other Survivors dont use this Perk. And I rarely see any Ashs after Release Day.
I couldnt care less about a change of this Perk, because I am not using it, but it is ridiculous that people cry about it even before it is actually live for a longer time to give ACTUAL Feedback and not just Doomsday scenarios.
3 -
Honestly just follow his advice, even the devs believe this way....
0 -
Tell that to the devs and their "fun" design ethic for killers. They don't want Killers to be relevant, just "fun".
0 -
if you don't go down again it's unlimited use, stop lying
2 -
It needs some adjustments, but it can be balanced. Doesn't even need a rework.
Some bugs need to be fixed, obviously (Nurse Blink-strike should give stacks, Pig Ambush should give stacks, and if you manage to get the stacks vs Legion it should proc when you get downed by Frenzy).
Aside from that, they just need to even out its matchups a little bit.
Nurse (due to a bug), Legion, and Plague bypass it entirely.
Leatherface, Billy, Myers, and Huntress are good against the perk, but if the survivor outplays them the perk will work.
Pig (due to a bug) and Trapper can do well against it, but this is situational.
Wraith, Hag, Freddy, Clown, Spirit, and Doctor can do nothing against it.
They should make damaging killer powers grant stacks, so that survivors who play well have the chance to proc the perk regardless of who the killer is, but after that they should rebalance the perk around that increased reliability. Maybe give it a bleedout on proc, maybe make it lose a stack if you get hooked before it's primed, maybe add +1 hit to prime so you need to heal once to proc it in a match.
0 -
no it needs a much bigger penalty
make it so you instantly die on next hook after proccing, a huge second chance requires a huge risk for taking it
2 -
I really dont know what was the point of nerfing DS if they were just going to add another one
9 -
Just remove survivor perks. They're supposed to die at the end and perks are getting in the way of that
6 -
stop tunneling.
3 -
Exactly. It’s comical seeing the rise in complaints about BT and now DS again after the stun change. Stop tunneling, and no one cares that your end game camp might get countered either. I hate when killers think they are entitled to a kill simply because they choose to camp. “That’s my secured kill!!1!!1!”
4 -
Freddy sends his regards. @Ihatelife
Edit: And, to a lesser extent, so does Myers.

The lack of foresight on 'Mettle Of Man' is pretty incredible. I understand the desire from the team to experiment, but this was literally like striking a match into gasoline. I like the team, but as the new perk meta develops it will restrict which killers will be played out of the fear of being outright BS'ed on the field. I regret to say the decision is very unimpressive.
0 -
Remove Mori then it has no counter aswell thank you.
1 -
@pungent_stench What has MoM to do with tunneling? Nothing. Or does it count as tunneling if you want to hit a survivor a 4th time during the course of an entire match?
4 -
According to your average survivor, if the killer exists they're "tunneling".
3 -
"I don't see it very often in my games, so this is obviously applicable to every other player out there. If I don't see many MoMs, every one else too doesn't see many MoMs".
Translated that for you.
1 -
@Aven_Fallen This perk has only been released a couple of days ago. A lot of players have to farm more bloodpoints to get the teachable. You will see it more often in the next days/weeks.
3 -
So you say that I cannot give any valuable statement because it is too soon? But everyone crying about it, can? Doublestandards, wohoo.
I would even bet that it will not be used that often.
Well, I can obviously only speak for my games. But BHVR does see the overall ratio. No reason to make fun of my post. Quite weak.
1 -
On what Earth do you play? The green pastures of rank 20? You just described 95% of the playerbase
0 -
@Aven_Fallen That's not what I wrote.
1) You say you don't see a lot of MoM. That's because this perk is new.
2) MoM is too powerful. A lot of people could tell from only reading the description a couple of weeks ago. But now that the perk has been released, we have also already seen examples for MoM being too powerful in matches.
1) and 2) don't contradict. Double standards are something completely different.
4 -
You cannot give any funded opinion by not seeing it live for a longer time. I am happy to be proven wrong, but I am simply fed up by making panic about things nobody REALLY CAN know how they will work out. Head On was also talked about as DS 2.0 by some. And it isnt.
I am not saying that MoM is a bad Perk. But I am pretty sure that it will be not as commonly used, because while it is good, it is not good enough to replace the current Meta Perks. This is my opinion, it could be wrong, but both my opionion and the opinion that it is too strong can only be proven after it is live for a longer period of time.
0 -
I wouldn't go that far but you could make it so that if you're exhausted ie DH/SB/AD etc you can't get stacks. Also if any insta heal was used on you you have a lockout for 30/60 seconds for Stypic Agent/Syringe being used before you can get stacks.
1 -
@Aven_Fallen Of course you can know that things are unbalanced without having to try them. You don't have to actually try bad things just to prove that they are indeed bad.
If you are simply annoyed by MoM discussions, that's another thing.
0 -
Here's why we can though:
If something entirely new comes to the game and people immediately call it OP or UP, it's a knee-jerk, agreed on that.
HOWEVER, and that is the point you guys don't get, MoM is not something new. It's core element is basically old Endurance Borrowed Time with a different activation condition (hits instead of unhook in TR) and without the bleed-out timer.
We knew how old BT worked and can extrapolate from that through our experience what MoM does and how bad it is for balance.
In this case, saying it is overpowered in combination with other meta Perks at this point (and even before it was released) is not a knee-jerk reaction.
1 -
That I am annoyed by those "discussions" is for sure. And like I said, my opinion on that could be wrong and if a change is happening, I hope it happens because of a good amount of data and not because a lot of crybabies went on the Forum to demand a change that might not have been necessary.
Well, bad things are easily spotted. But good things not.
1 -
If we say MOM it's close to old BT then we know it's broken and op i will like to remind you that with the old BT you can run the killer from the one side of the map to the exit without much problem and ack then you have limit time to do it now you don't.
0 -
Yesterday I played ~20 games and it proc maybe 4 or 5 times how the ######### can you tell this perk is OP ??
We have enough F tier perks dont bring MoM into it
1 -
You know that that number will rise as soon as more people unlock the Perk as a Teachable. And how many times something activates doesn't determine how OP it is.
There are a lot of excellent Survivor Perks, very few ones that have next to no use. I'm really sorry that you feel any Perk that isn't on the level of the meta is an F tier Perk.
0 -
u can tell that they just want to sell the dlc really bad. this perk is broken as hell and needs to be changed. but money talks
2 -
Dude, MOM was made to not encourage tunneling if you ask me, and it's good at making survivors waste their time healing if they use selfcare or a medkit. If they use instaheals it's even better because you can waste it sooner. I've been playing as Clown to throw bottles at them after they use their mom and the clown's laugh is so great when they get slapped up eventually after using it.
Ash Players who are obviously deranked from higher levels going against my baby killer Clown: *Tries to bait infinite loops for ages with SWF*
Me with clown: Injures them and lets them be
Ash players who are obviously deranked boosting their swf: *Always going for the save*
Me with clown: Injures them and goes to hook someone else
*Repeat process till MoM and hopefully I've had at least 2 kills by now*
Me with Clown after Mom Activated: *Throws bottles, floors, hooks, only 2 survivors left usually so everything goes more smooth and I can get a 4k*
Ashes who are lower ranked are....quite frankly not as good at making their mom work for them. But I don't know your skill level or who you main so. This is just how I've been doing it lately, havent been playing other killers but clown against Ash's perks so far.
If multiple people have Ash, I'll assume there's multiple moms and try to go for the least aggressive, stealthier players asap (even if I gotta slug or drop a chase with someone more aggressive), and hook them where there's no gyms nearby or where I can cockblock their rescue easily because they're the ones I don't want to keep around with mom. I rely a lot on survivor mistakes though when I play with multiple moms though but, I dunno if it's a balance issue or not. I think the survivor in me finds it alright so long as I at least have the ability to control where mom activates.
1 -
Usage probably would not be too useful in this instance because it's still a relatively new perk, and for a paid character at that, so most people have not had the time to unlock it. When we collect feedback, we're looking for both what people like and dislike about it, not just a "nerf yes or no".
We'll be sure to keep you updated when we have news to share.
3 -
You literally sound so inexperienced with mom and that's coming from a baby killer/mid tier survivor whos spent a good amount of hours against it and teamed with it. You seem to have this mindset that all mom players will be meta because they're holding a meta perk that's easy to bait to the point where you don't even need to change your killer of choice to go against it.
Ah the usual voice of reason. @powerbats
