Freddy Krueger's Buff
We all know that sooner or later Freddy will get a buff and what people expect is that it is a very big and remarkable buff. But ... What should Freddy Krueger's changes be like?
Less time to get people into the world of dreams: what people expect is that this time is reduced from 7 seconds to about 5 or up to 3 seconds, this is very important because people always arrive at home before I finished the dream trancision.
While the dream transition is happening, the survivors will not be able to do anything except throwing pales or jumping through the windows: I sincerely hope that this happens since people can repair generators in front of you without caring about anything, that is very sad and it makes the game frustrating and you do not want to keep playing.
The radio of terror: For only these two buffs in my opinion the radius of terror that goes up from 24m to 28m, yes, I know that this is more a nerfeo but it is only to balance a little more.
A very interesting new form of Freddy would be that in the world of dreams you can be deceived: how would this be done, well, if you are in the world of dreams, the pales disappear (only those that are broken), just like a Doctor's add-on, it would be nice to do it for Freddy
Finally I want to tell you that if they like me and agree with my ideas, or think that I am making a mistake, please leave it to me in the comments, I will reply very quickly.
Thank you!!!

I like your ideas overall but I think the biggest point you bring up is the second. Freddy needs to be able to interact better with someone on a generator or totem.
I like your idea of tricks in the dreamworld!

What we need is Freddy coming to the Real World for 15 seconds once he is hit with pallets or blinded with flashlights or anything happens to him from the Real World. In the movies he could come back to the Real from the Dream if something happened to grab him back, so I don't see why we can't do it in-game.
Of course he would have none of his Dream powers tho... which are almost none, only the ability to track survivors, so it's not much of a loss.Actually I've never really understood why Survivors them into the Dream is really bad for them. Ofc is good to have a wall hack, but huuuuh. That's absurd. Freddy is the owner of the Dream world.
Maybe what we really need is the ability to vault any wall as if it had a window lol. That would give him added mobility in a way that no other Killer would be able to have and make Freddy more impressive as the extremely supernatural threat he is in the world of absurd that is a Dream.

The only thing Freddy needs is his 16 meter heartbeat back and an ability to slow the survivors down while they are in the Dream Transition.
It would make him so much more bearable.

Azgard12 thanks man, yeah i think that is a great idea

Mc_Harty, i think that this is not enoght because people can repair gens infront of freddy, thats the big issue, well just my opinion

And thank you I actually just wrote the second part of my suggestion in a Wishlist thread.

You can't stealth a Freddy and you can't pallet-loop a Nurse.

I think time it takes to enter dream world is def needed with while also entering dream state, you are unable to do any intereaction with another player or gen.
Also remove the ability to wake up out of dream state with self care.

Yeah, i think is unecessary to do that buff, the only buff important can be the second

Those are great ideas dude a lot better than all the OP ideas I came up with that would completely change his playstyle and gameplay. Yours is much more balanced1

All I want for Freddy is for self care skill checks to not wake survivors up. Being able to stay at extremely safe areas and wake up with no threat hurts him a lot. (It also forces him to tunnel hard)
2 -
It's worse when people self care right in front of you since they dropped a pallet. Feels disrespectful of the threat (or lack thereof) of the killer.
That said apart from agreeing with self care not affecting dream state, I notice one big contentious issue with Freddy is his aura tracking. Perhaps if they reversed it, so he only sees people's auras when within his terror radius as opposed to out of it. Makes for more tactical approach on both ends. Would make it harder for Freddy but it means he runs distressing over monitor and abuse really.1 -
Here's an idea:
1.Remove his dream world wallhacks
2.Give him a 32 meter lullaby radius (you'll see why)
3.When he starts the dream transition, survivors break all actions they started and are unable to start them again for 1 second, after which the action speed is slowed by 50% (as it's normal for the dream world)
4.Give him a drowsy effect which lets him put survivors into the dream world automatically after 30 seconds spent in the radius. We'll be able to reduce the drowsy dream speed with the dream transition reduction add-ons, up to a bare minimum of 20 seconds spent in the radius with both z block and red paint brush equipped.Survivors, however, will have no indication of how long they've been in his lullaby radius.
5.Make his dream transition slowdown 2,5 or 2 seconds instead of 3.There you go, balance.

That is a very good balance!! but how devs are going to see our messege

Here's what I think about a buffed version:
Power: Dream Demon
Death won't accept him and thus he remains, a calamity, indisputable master of his victims' nightmares. Dream Demon allows The Nightmare to pull Survivors into the Dream World.
Awake survivors
-Survivors who are awake do not see or hear The Nightmare.
-They can notice The Nightmare presence by a non directional spooky child chant.
-When found inside a locker, Survivors are dragged instantly to the Dream World.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare power, Survivors enter the Dream Transition after some time. The Dream Transition <--- THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
-During the Dream Transition they can see The Nightmare intermittently.
The Dream transition has some special conditions to survivors:
--- Survivors can't do healing actions during dream transition time.
--- Survivors suffer an action speed penalty (25%).
--- The Nightmare can interrupt survivors actions (doing gens, unhooking, destroying totems etc) after the half of a Dream Transition time (With a base time of 7s, after 3.5s u r allowed to interrupt actions).
--- Skill checks are disabled during Dream Transition.
-When the Dream Transition lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.Once in the Dream World:
-Skill checks are enabled after the first 3 seconds.
-Survivors' Auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.
-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty (50% base)
-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find other non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action
- Failing a gen repair or a sabotage can wake up the Survivor.
-Getting hooked wakes up the Survivor.Ps.:
-Adrenaline will wake up survivors if they are asleep when it triggers.
- Unbreakable will restore survivors from the dying state but can't wake them up if they are asleep.
-No hit detection for awake survivors.
-Failing a Self Care\Healing skill check can't wake up survivors1 -
The dream transition should interrupt and prevent actions for it's duration, boom, Freddy fixed.

This is why these official forums exist, right? For the devs to read suggestions. If they treat these forums they way they do steam forums and reddit, I'd lose all hope in their touch with the community.

I like your ideas, Especially the one about Pallets in the dream world. I feel like Freddy would be able to manipulate the dream world like the films and mess with the survivors. Pallets might be too similar to the Doc but phantom Gens that disappear when you interact with them would be cool since survivors look for gens to wake themselves up a lot of the time.

Really Freddy only needs two buffs:
The first is that while in Dream transition, Survivors should be locked from doing gens, cleansing totems, healing, etc. Freddy as he is now I'd the only Killer who has a time limit before he can defend his objectives. The absolute worst is being unable to pick up a Survivor being healed.
Second is how easy it is to wake yourself up. I think when survivors are asleep, all skill checks should have their appearance rate decreased by 75%, or only appear once you cross a certain threshold. Survivors should use the wake up feature as the go to, with failed skill checks being the last resort.
Now to be fair though, the one thing that makes these buffs unfair is Freddy's wall hacks. The ability to always know the sleeping Survivors locations is his power, so I think Survivors should be able to see the auras of awake Survivors every few seconds to help guide them.
It wouldn't be the first time Freddy used a kid to get him more victims.0 -
As Freddy stands now, it is even harder to hide from his than the Doctor. You can’t really hide from him since you can’t even see him, and if Spine Chill is active, it’s probably already too late. I think a good boost for Freddy is to make him feel less like a killer and more like a force of nature.
My proposition is to remove Freddy’s “terror radius” to awake survivors. Detection such as Dark Sense and Spine Chill would still work though.
Sleeping survivors get the lullaby terror radius to make him a bit more unnerving (only a cosmetic like how the Shape gets his own music)
Otherwise the common quality of life upgrades should be more than enough combined with this.
in my opinion anyways.0 -
if freddy can mess with people im happy. If it doesn't play like freddy taking a break from dbd until something good pulls me back in. I can only handle so much dissapointments as a killer.

As a survivor main, i can agree with the sentiment that you should not be able to break out of the dream transition through skillful actions. It's literally a worst case scenario for freddy but it can happen often enough in the match that it can ruin his chances at killing. personally, i'd like him to be a bit scarier with the rework (but i say that for any killer with the exception of Myers and Spirit). Maybe giving him a dash attack when he puts a survivor in the dream world. Maybe he could be invisible to survivors outside his terror radius that are in the Dream World. just my 2 cents :chuffed:

Personally i don't get why people think Freddy needs a buff. He's 100% Invisible, quite fast and pulling Survivors into the Dreamworld gives the effect simillar to Thanatophobia and BBQ. Then you get to put Perks on top of that... That's pretty brutal right there.
I've only played him once through an add-on and even without perks i easily wiped the floor with the survivors.0 -
I fear that the devs will only rework freddy, not Buff him such that he will be different but still unviable0

But as for basic gameplay, Freddy is a monster at putting pressure on Survivors if played right.0 -
Am I the only one that thinks wake up should you know, wake you up?0

I would suggest playing him at higher ranks and then you will see how obsolete he really is. you can't form a full opinion on anything after only trying them once, just saying!

I do very well with Freddy. If they merely change numbers around, he might become unstoppable.
