Why are there rank resets?
All rank resets do is pair up good survivors with garbage ones. Why would we want to sit in a lobby with survivors that are forever lost in the sauce? The ones who play super immersed and run Urban Evasion are not in purple and red ranks for a good reason. Spare us, please.

To keep people invested. To make the journey to rank 1 again. It's the same deal as with the grind. It makes people stay.

I completely disagree. The rank resets make me want to stop playing. I'm a huge fan of DBD my player level is 57 (Devotion 1) and I have achieved Rank 1 Killer (I'm now rank 12). I am so sick and tired or rank reset. I play on PS4 and enjoy a variety of games, not just DBD, so it annoys me whenever I come back to DBD after taking a break to see my rank has been reset which results in being stuck in games with low ranking players who don't play as a team. It is honestly the worst part of the game and is the reason I no longer play. If they want to use the ranking system as a matchmaking tool, they should just do it based off of player levels to avoid being stuck with noobs. I'm on the last straw with this game, too many bugs and reworks. The Devs need to get their ######### together.

It is for survivors/killers who haven't played in a while can get reset to lower ranks. Being rusty at red ranks would be brutal.
Also yea it helps reset the game because if you were just stuck at rank 1 once you got there you would leave the game very very quick. We do have to remember the survivors at those ranks also reset as well.

The rank reset wouldn't be a problem if the matchmaking was any good.
Sure on the DAY of the reset you might get some recently dropped high-rankers or some people that have been rank 15 for the whole of the previous season but that would iron itself out fairly quickly couple days tops but as it stands currently ranks mean nothing in terms of the matchmaking.
I could get a rank 2 killer at rank 10 survivor.
As a rank 13 killer i can get rank 1 survivors because they queued with their rank 19 friend.

Rank reset wouldnt be such a problem if there was a reward for reaching the higher ranks before the reset.
