Disconnecting is RUINING Dead by Daylight
The devs really need to start banning people who disconnect on purpose. I haven't played a real match of DBD in DAYS. When people leave the game it completely ruins the other survivors' chance of escaping and deprives the killer of points they could've earned. Who in their right mind thought it was ok to remove deranks for disconnects? Trash players that disconnect are destroying the fun of Dead by Daylight for BOTH sides. Please, Behavior punish these people, they are not worthy of the entity. To those who support disconnecting: you are a coward and you're an embarrassment to REAL DBD players that aren't afraid of death. Killers who disconnect because of SWF groups: you're ultra cowards, REAL KILLERS DON'T FEAR SURVIVORS. If you're not going to actually play the game, uninstall; don't even bother booting it up.
The game is called 'Dead' by Daylight, accept death you noobs.

It can't be impossible to program the game to recognize when people click "leave game" so how about 1 or 2 warnings, then a 30 day ban?

The game has been very unbalanced this past month. I can understand why people disconnect so much. Developers have nerfed the survivors for SWF which affects solo even more. On the other hand, killers have been nerfed and rely too much on ruin, shame.

I disconnect some times but only if nothing has been done, and nobody helps, and I'm in my 3rd hook about to die, it's unfair to waste my time, nerves etc for a game nobody helped, as also is unfair to do almost all the gens in a game to get hooked and nobody ever comes to save you, even if the killer doesn't camp, which camping another reason lol, and most important they nerf everything for us and keep their killers strong, so yeah if I wanna DC I'll DC, but of course if the team is a team I help always till my last minutes or till we all survive, sorry if that's wrong to. You, but the game has become way to unfair so - _-

It is'nt impossible too do, even games from way back like warcraft have auto bans set in place for abuse of the d/c button, dbd is just a mess.

Every game 2/3 survivors DC, I hope they get banned, cuz the people who are left in the game can't do anything but feel helpess
the sad thing is when this happen they blame me instead, dude blame on the people who DC

Devs need to fix the issues causing those players to DC. Thats what to do. Just banning those players only results in selfdestruction.

The mentality and process behind d/cing is what needs to change.
People dc because the game isn’t going how they would like or think it should go. Many people see the dc hutton as just another facet of the game, much like the find match button or clicking on bloodweb nodes.
In-game dc should shut down the game and give a prompt for sending a message to the dev team as to what forced them to dc (bodyblocked permanently in the basement, not being sacrificed after the animation has completed, stuck against or on an asset, etc.).
In addition, the dc button should not be on the same tab as the information about the match. It should be on it’s own tab so that it’s less visible. I would also love a prompt to double check that the survivor truly wants to dc.
With these steps taken, it will begin to discourage the type of dc most commonly done.

Just apply hard derank for DC - no matter was it intentional or not during match. YEs, some ppl will be deranked cause of connection issues, but 95% of ppl are DCing at purpose, either by leaving match or by game force shutdown to avoid losing pips.
Just change it from -2 pips for leaving/no derank for shutting down - to -4 pips for leaving/-2 ranks for shutting down.
Harsh? Yes. But, all DCers will end in rank 20 and number of leaving on purpose will drastically drop.

I think not. Most of these people want to derank to get easier games. By doing your idea you send all the toxics to the new players who'll get frustrated.
Better auto ban them if they do it too much. Harder penalty for doing it on purpose ("leave game" or AltF4).

These people are often looking for decent games, of which the majority just plain suck due to so much cheese out there right now. Some may even want to get banned. It will force them to get away from this game and play something else. Then your 5k or so players left can enjoy the downward death spiral.

With the client crashes all the time (notice that since EAC stopped doing that check at the 15 seconds after joining mark, crashes seem more common - coincidence?) 3v1 and less games are very common and not even worth playing. I hope dedicated might help prevent those games and with the latency issues with hit boxes, but I don't think it will help with DC beyond just maybe being easier to keep statistics. Game has so many problems right now - the only thing it has going for it, it is fast pick-up game to start up and get to playing. When it doesn't crash.

Guess that might help - but I'm already at the mercy of other survivors and killer when trying to rank up. Getting DC'ed for reasons out of my control will just make me not bother trying to progress up the ranks and that is the only thing that remotely keeps my interest these days.

A Claduette disconnected cause I rescued a guy in front of her.
People (especially Claduettes obviously) disconnect for no reason these days.

Talking about DCs, 3 ppl disconnected at once when I hooked one of them (3rd hook in game, 3 ppl in traps), last one disconnected as soon as I found her (in a 20 secs). I dont know if those 3 DCs were due to bug (most probably since they were totally in same time), last one did on purpose obviously.

Here, let us fix killers being able to down and hook survivors at all since survivors often times d/c just after being downed or being taken towards the hook.
See how much sense that makes?

The worst thing about all of this is the developers lack of any apparent conviction to solving the whole DC epidemic.
They come forth with a "Big Surprise" that got people excited that something were about to happen about that, or that the Dedicated Servers were finally here, but nah, we got cosmetics instead. Such a surprise.
We know where their priorities lie. If the people DCing all the time still buy cosmetics, there's no point in fixing the problem.
