Divide hex power among all totems.

A major complaint about totems is that they are very RNG. Some games you have a totem that spawned in an alternate dimension and lasts all game and sometimes it spawns wedged into a survivors nose. I had an idea for totems that I think would solve complaints with totem RNG, game duration -and- noed.

Make hex power derived from all totems at once.

For example ruin. You take ruin, spawn into a game and every totem is now a hex totem and ruin is at it's full and current power but it has a stack indicator like ToTH.

So for every totem you break the penalty for ruin goes down and the amount of time generator progress is halted is also decreased.

It's true that some hexes by design would be harder to fit into this model, but I don't think it would be too hard with some creative thinking. Third seal for example could either have it's cap lowered for every totem broken or just lower the duration for every totem broken.

But moving on, how does this solve game duration and noed?

Well for game duration I think it's obvious, it gives survivors a consistent secondary objective(provided a killer opts to take a hex) whilst also not greatly increasing the amount of time holding M1 for survivors. This would also revive small game as a viable perk.

For noed I think it's less obvious. While it doesn't necessarily solve the frustrations with noed it can lessen them. If a killer's hex perks are totally gone then you know they don't have a totem to light up for noed. So it removes some of the unexpectedness from it. And it doesn't feel like you wasted your time because you were doing a valuable objective anyway.

The only exception would be if a killer ran only noed. Which would be an option, but it would also mean they are more than likely running a very late game build which is already very risky.

But you could also apply the system to noed and give it a OHKO only if a certain number of totems are still alive.

1 What about the haunted grounds and exposed status effect from totems should work (your only answer for this is: well, survivors should destroy totems earlier)

2 Do you really want to remove a russian roulette from this game?
