MoM outrage getting ignored

If you re bad at throwing hatchets etc

He cant counter MoM but what s wrong about it? When some killers like for example Doc negates plenty of perks.
0 -
Which perks does the Doctor negate, exactly, and how is that comparable to a single perk essentially shutting down entire killers that are already weak?
8 -
So buff those killers. Doc negates every stealth perk. Juking is part of a game so if he decides to chase you he will get you no matter what you cant juke him.
Buff those killers . Every killer should have advanced attack except for doc as long as he negates stealth perks.
1 -
Yeah, buff those killers. That's gonna happen.
Calm Spirit, have you heard of it? Or just skill, really. People stealth the Doctor all the time.
5 -
So i should run calm spirit in case of doc? Then basically every killer denies one survivors perk right?
I should stealth Doc? Okay but when someone gets caught stealth play is no longer viable. So yeah he negates every stealth perk.
2 -
The only universal counter to MoM is camping the first hook. No perks, add-ons or offerings involved.
Does this sounds like a enjoyable and healthy gameplay mechanic?
6 -
Calm Spirit has other uses, in case you didn't know. But yes, if you don't have the skill to counter the Doctor without perks, Calm Spirit is there for you.
Balance-wise, I'd say it's better for survivors to have to run one or more perks to help them counter certain killers than to have entire killers be countered by one perk. You can run multiple perks every trial. The killer player can only play one killer per trial.

Perhaps you dont know how doc plays then. No point to argue with biased killer mains
1 -
Not a killer main, and I happen to play Doctor from time to time, but please, do tell.
0 -
Exactly you dont even know his power i guess
1 -
Exactly what? That you're wrong about me being a killer main, or that you're wrong about me not knowing how the Doctor works?
1 -
Ah, come on, the perk is fine. Stop crying
1 -
You just bad as him if survivors juke you when you play him. Your arguments are bad you simply told me to get some skills to be able to juke Doc . I can do the same get some skills to play against MoM as m1 killers.
1 -
Except I said you could use the perk if you didn't have the necessary skills to juke the Doctor. I never said I was juked when I play the Doctor. I also just asked you for more details on your view before you shut down altogether. My guess is, you realized something about your opinion that you're just not ready to admit in public.
3 -
Why are killers so god damn whiny?
7 -
Because a lot of them feel ignored by the devs and there are a lot of situations in this game that feel unfun or unfair for them. In short, they're not having a good time.
When people have unpleasant experiences they get upset and want to communicate their upsetness with another human being. Sometimes that communication turns into whining or ranting.

@Slayer
You have heard of lockers right? You don't need Calm Spirit to counter Doctor, you can just use Lockers to avoid screaming if getting zapped really bugs you that much.
Even ignoring Lockers Doctor isn't that great a Killer. He's a 115% M1 Killer whose power is he finds people, prevents flashlight blinds & insta-heals mid-chase, and he can sometimes stun people to deny pallet or window vaults if he plays well and the Survivor has never learned how to play against Doctor.
Now if you play solo I can understand your complaints (because solo queue is full of people who go down in 10 seconds, miss every skillcheck when they dare to touch gens, and DC on their first hook) but you still need to stop complaining because it's not Doctor that's killing you, it's your bad teammates.
Unless he's 3-gen'ing (and that will usually end with the Survivors winning... it just takes 10+ minutes) there's nothing that annoying about Doctor IMO. Just do generators, loop him to the best of your ability when he finds you, and pray that your teammates will do the same.

MOM is fine, I'm a killer main and I dont see what the big fuss is. It's like everyone thinks that when someone chooses to play survivor, they do it's so they can go on and be the killers lil #########. Killers has perks and abilities to help kill, just like survivors have perks and agility to help them survive.
7 -
Its a second language to them lulz.
6 -
It's basically the survivor version of NOED. It has counters and ways to play around it. But constantly crying that it's "OP" or "unfair" is the way to go.
Congratulations killers. You now understand the feelings of people that hate NOED.
This would be the part where we all get along and bond over shared feelings. XD

Just unlike you i dont get triggered when debating i leave whenever i want and reply whenever i want. Lets start from begining you said why Killers like Freddy miss a play against perk i said why not? Must have perk to juke killer iron will miss counterplay against Doc and its totally fine around here. You told me to equip calm spirit to be able to juke him but then in that case other killers negates my perk slot cause its useless against them. But you telling me that its possible to juke him without calm spirit so okay maybe but why you think MoM is a problem for better players then? Because you simply dont mind if killers having upper hand in this game. You dont care about balance for both sides
2 -
Talking about chase . So your argument is thats fine that he negates juke ability because he s weak? Thats only your opinion that hes weak.
0 -
Yep I'm aware of all the this. However countering NOED isn't always in our control. Just like how countering MOM won't always be in our control.
It's a beautiful state of equilibrium which is rare in DBD. Killers have NOED, now survivors have MOM.

This is the best answer i read so far.
MoM is a good and strong perk. Just like noed, or spirit fury or bamboozle. I know that MoM can be really annoying and frustrating for killers. But so can be bamboozle or spirit fury. For example:
1) if you don't know that killer has spirit fury and you stun him, it's basically a free hit for him.
2) With all the dead zones and lack of pallets, windows are the only thing that a survivor can use to get some distance from the killer, until a leatherface with fast charge addons use bamboozle and you get outplayed.
Strong perk, yes...OP, nah.
4 -
Are you really comparing those perks?
4 -
Good! Your games have less NOEDS than other players. That's awesome.
Yeah pretending is nice and all. But here in reality NOED has counters. So does MOM. Now will you always be able to counter both? No. Will you be able to counter them in other games? Yes.
De ranking is a whole other beast to talk about.
2 -
What counters does MoM have? Bring instadown perks? Run killers that don't proc it? Stop pretending like MoM isn't broken as #########.
4 -
Almost every counter has been mentioned in this topic.
Why ask a question you already had the answer to?
:)
1 -
Cleansing totems is not easy for solos you never know whether you cleansed all or not and if you want to check how many been cleansed you ll waste huge amount of time not to mention getting yourself in danger.
So easy to act tough on forums...
5 -
Drop pallet early while Billy is chargin up his chainsaw or you want them to drop it when they hear his TR?
With bamboozle no loop to be feared as killer and the fact that you trying to say that one of the best killers perks has a counter is ridiculous
0 -
So all survivors encounter all five totems in total right? Without even looking for them
1 -
@Oblitiry "MoM has counters" - The only counters for M1 killers are hard camping and moris. And here I thought survivors don't want killers to play that way.
7 -
I highly and respectively disagree. MoM is a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card from what I've seen. It needs to have a tradeoff of some sort.
8 -
Remember the Freddy nerfs a week after his release? Us killers weren't pleased with that since we also spent money on him.
5 -
He's Right ya know^
2 -
Simply drop pallet early doesnt counter it thats what killers want.
I didnt say the best killers perk did i?
1 -
Ahhhh there seems to be a bit confusion on my response haha.
When I said your games have less NOEDs I was complementing you on preventing it. I wasn't talking about the perk itself being present in a killers build.
0 -
If that's what it takes for you to prevent a single perk from activating then so be it.
That's literally basic gameplay from most killers anyways.
0 -
It's never fun for a survivor or killers that actually want to leave the hook. However that kind of thing happening has been a regular part of the game forever.
To say that it completely "cripples" the M1 killers is a bit dramatic. It's not on the level of old DS. You don't need to exploit the games mechanics to get past it.
It doesn't stop you from playing. It commonly activates after you've already hooked that person twice.
I believe it's current version is fine just like NOED. It's part of the game now and adapting to it will be something everyone will need to do.
If it gets nerfed then aw well. The devs will probably nerf/buff something else with it to cause a ruckus over. And the cycle of complaints will continue.

Let me describe my experience with MoM the day it was released. Hooked an Ash for the second time as a Wraith. I turn to leave but Bill saves Ash right in front of me and before I can cloak activating his Borrowed Time. I turn to pursue Bill but Ash body blocks me knowing he has Borrowed Time. Fine. I hit him, and off he goes so might as well chase him. I almost catch up to him but he Dead Hards through a pallet and lays it down. Thankfully it was unsafe and I hit him again in short order, downing him. I go to pick him up since he isn't the Obsession in this game, but lo and behold it's Decisive Strike and off he goes again. We reach a T-wall/T-wall jungle gym and begin to run through it. I manage to trick him with the stain and hit him again fairly quickly but MoM activates and saves him from the down. I begin to chase_again_ but generators pop and Adrenaline heals him back up to full.
This is insane. This could literally be 3/4 survivors every match with one dedicated saver running Borrowed Time. Second chance perks are not fun to play against and cripple the design and economy of the game. The above does _not_ need to stack.
5 -
it's exactly on the level of old DS except for the fact that there's EVEN LESS that M1 killers can do against it
watching you defend your new OP perk so desperately is beyond pathetic
7 -
Cause MOM has nothing to do about questions for the PTB. Simple as that.
6 -
I like it when people bring that argument "but the most weak killers suffer" . Them missing advanced attack is an issue not Mettle of man.
3 -
srsly, do you even play dead by daylight at all? i just cant tell if you are trolling, being new or just dropped on your head lately. the ignorance and stupidity in this thread starts making me angry.
4 -
ADVANCED ATTACK
LOL
4 -
@MandyTalk @Peanits please close this, the insults are already flying.
3 -
Yeah.
This thread serves no purpose, as it's pretty clear how the majority, across all forums, feels about it.
I'd be interested in seeing the survey results, assuming they become public.
