Now killers force and abuse EGC for their own amusement

i dont think this is the reason, guess many people just want to see new animation at work, also killers could "abuse" survs even before patch by putting the last surv in dying state and not hook him or putting two survs and noot hook them.

This was suffered by survivors as well. Both sides could suffer of long games and survivors could end in a holding the game hostage situation by the killer on the basement or dead ends. You could just approach that gate and they'd get out, easy as that. But anyways, that doesn't make it okay to make it the other way around now, does it? Make it 0 for both sides. End of the problem.

I always let the last survivor bleed out. Its so much much more satisfying having them wait 4 mins (or DC). I dont care about the points. I have got enough points. I am playing for my fun, and my fun alone. Before the EGC, survivors always forced me to chase them out, and waste minutes trying to find them.
Now its payback time, survivors.

Yeah, poor innocent killers, they couldn't hold the game hostage forever giving the survivor the only option to DC making them lose all their BP earned.

"Survivors holding the hostage for many hours"
*devs fix it after 2 years*
"Killer wait 4 min, because they want see this cool animation"
*devs will fix it after 1 week*

Can't tell if this is a parody comment or you're just a genuine troll.
2 -
Survivors could never hold the game hostage. They can hide, they can teabag at gates, but not hold the game forever. Killer could hold the game forever, it happened a lot of times. Devs always supported people teabagging at gates or hiding, or farming points by looking for totems or opening chests for 10 minutes. So don't try to make a point like this is survivor-sided, because it is not. It is not okay to make any side wait for minutes, same as it is not okay to make people break their keyboards or mouses wheels in phase 2.

It's impossible to find a single survivor hiding on a large map unless you have specific tracking perks. They also occasionally have exploits that allow them to climb out of the killer's reach. Survivors can and do hold the game hostage.
4 -
@DemonDaddy That is a weak argument, considering not every survivor does that. Just like not every killer hacks, or camps, or tunnels. I have never teabagged, or hung out at the exit. I find it childish, and revolting behavior. I grew up in an era where you treated your opponent with a certain level of respect, especially in a game meant to be casual and fun. Yet, by your standards, I'm fair game to be treated like crap? Seriously....life must suck for people who think like that.
4 -
Which gets addressed with bans for using hacks, so I don't see the problem. I also got a killer running Legion teleporting to me and hitting me from the other side of an obstacle. I got hit, I didn't get many bloodpoints, but I reported him for hacks to DbD and also to Steam and I'm pretty sure he'll get ANOTHER Steam ban soon (yeah, he got banned several times already in different games for hacks, so it was very obvious).
I mean, they are addressing the situation of survivors hiding forever in a map just for the sake of it, which is okay even if they're being huge hypocrites because they supported survivors doing this in the past, so this is cool. It's cool that a killer or a survivor can't be hold hostage or doesn't have to wait for 15 mins to find a survivor, but that doesn't mean making them bleed for 4 minutes is okay. It's better than 15, sure, but it's not okay.

You know someone was going to find a way to abuse the system.
If you abuse it, it will get nerfed, look at Legion. People will never learn.

People having fun as killer gasp
2 -
It's 4 minutes. The only difference from regular slugging is that you get a cool animation afterward.
1 -
Not making an argument for it, just saying your gonna have some that enjoy the sense of control the situation grants. The killer outplayed them and is celebrating it. Its the same as survivors taunting at the gate, I don't agree with it but some people don't know how to take a win with grace.
3 -
The problem is some issues take years to get addressed, like the basement stairs or holding the game hostage situations, or Claudettes hiding in the map for an hour.
0 -
So, if a Claudette hides in a map for 15 mins until she gets tired and gets out or until the killer dcs, that's bad, but if a killer makes you lay on the floor for 4 mins it's okay. So where is the line? In 7 minutes or in being killer or survivor while holding the game?
0 -
Survivors always trolled me by prolonging the game for another 10 minutes, even though gates were open. Atleast killer trolling has a timer on it. Survivors trolling didnt have one. Am I not allowed to troll back? Or is it just as killer-specific thing, that I am not allowed to troll?
1 -
@DemonDaddy I misunderstood your post then, and agree completely with you. The concept of winning with grace is completely lost on the majority of DbD's players.
5 -
Survivors should not have power over the killers, ever. That's the line. It's an asymmetrical game.
3 -
The line is that one has a timer on it, and the other doesnt.
1 -
Lets clarify a few things. This 4 minute number being tossed out is the worse case scenario. That would require you to be put into a dying state right as EGC begins. The chances of you being stuck for 4 minutes are rare at best. You are looking more at possible 1 to 2 minute situations where you might be on the ground bleeding out until the timer runs out. While yes it still sucks, it is not something that is game shattering.
@Alithra I respect you trying to prevent griefing and game hostage situations. I just do not see this as being as big of an issue you think it will be. The first few days, killers and survivors are going to want to see the animation. I truly believe it will die down by this time next week and you will get this slugging kills much less frequently. I think give it some time and lets see what happens. As has been said, we cannot predict the future. I think we just need to wait and see what occurs and let the devs go from there. I doubt though they will remove the animation.
2 -
Killers didn't have a timer either when bodyblocking people at the basement or deadends.
0 -
And that was fixed, even though the EGC would guarantee a timer.
2 -
I see. So if a killer holds the game hostage forever giving you the only option to dc and lose your BP it's okay. I understand now. Thanks for making it clear.
0 -
Is that what I said? I don't think that's what I said.
2 -
You kinda did say anything is justified because they're killers. So if they hold you it's okay, but not the other way around. Basically, your own words.
0 -
Except I didn't kinda say that, at all. That's just you putting words in my mouth.
3 -
people are that mad about being slugged for a max 4 minutes?
WOW and lol
3 -
Survivor mains, man. Survivor mains.

Sorry for the long, non-requested answer.
I get what you're trying to say. You're probably also an adult playing games for fun just like me.
These kids grew up watching only crap content, either on TV, social media, Youtube, whatever. Their role models in those channels are mostly no-lifer entitled jerks that somehow manage to gather a zombie following around. A gullible one.
People playing too much videogames tend to not participate in sports, that teach 'sportsmanship' in people's lives. And sports are also lacking in good role models nowadays anyway.
This is "their" world now. So long for good manners, good sportsmanship, respecting opponents, etc.
I took a long break from videogames after the PS2 peaked and just came back a couple years ago. I found online multiplayer challenging and fun, but also almost full of people with the absolute worst traits, personalities, manners, and such.
The best advise I'd give is, take whatever you want out of the game (in my case, the horror element), but don't engage in trying to find ANY redeeming qualities in this community. People worth befriending are very few, and far in between. And some of them I found via this forum.
Texts from DbD sore losers flooded my inbox all the time, which I had to set to friends-only, and I also had to block all friend requests since they also can text you in those.
What I'm trying to say is, this is the nature of the beast. An M rated horror game about murder played mostly by people not old enough to hold a driving license, and promoted by man-children in their 20's and 30's. I play it, but I don't expect to get anything out of it, other than occasional scares and some horror-related simulated violence.

I agree with your assessment. "Old Guard" like us are not the norm anymore. I remember when online games were just starting. Heck, I was part of a major raiding guild in Everquest, back when death equaled loss of level and all gear. There was a high level of gentlemen's agreement in many of those games. You lose, you have some respect for the game. You win, you do the same. That is lost on many who grew up as keyboard warriors.
It is sad, but true. I expect it from the players now, but I am surprised to see it endorsed by the actual developers and managers. It is a sad thing to see.
GL out there, and hope you continue to draw some enjoyment out of the game Condor.

@Alithra This is about the fact that everyone kept complaining about hatch standoffs and survivors holding the game hostage. Now End Game has become a biit more luck-based for survivors and less skill-based. Killers just get to prepare for egc and survivors have to adapt to it. Sometimes you'll see messed up stuff but it is what it is. They are usually good strats just distasteful for a survivor to go against because it can handicap them which is why it's good for the killer to do. So far the worst thing I saw was a spirit that camped me and someone else in 1 place while keeping tabs on the gen rushers with her perks then slugged one person and kept the other person from escaping hatch (unlucky survivor) and exit gate (unlucky survivor who deserved that escape considering how long they were chased and avoided being downed). The survivor died to the entity egc because the spirit couldn't touch them. That was so painful to watch it made me wish the exit gates open automatically if a solo remaining survivor is in chase with a killer for a period of time. That spirit literally did nothing all match except stand around with insidious slugging and camping people like a bubba while keeping tabs on genrushers with other perks to block escape then laugh about it in the after lobby because they knew they didn't need to engage in the trial properly to get 4k that way.

Wow great solution for someone being purposely trolled. Little surprise no one takes reporting and banning seriously.
Maybe instead your dev team could develop a game mechanic for once that isnt designed for trolling and purposely screwing others.
2 -
I really think you guys need to do something about where the gates spawn. Sometimes they are way too close, leaving no chance for there to be any type of scenario aside from just surrender and die. Which completely misses the point of making endgame more exciting on the survivor side. This also considering the fact that, the end of the match barely (if at all) has any loops with pallets/chests etc. to use.

- ~ 20 lockers
- complete map
- every dark corner
- they can hear my terror radius
Are you a new player?
Survivors can holding the hostage.
2 -
poor boy, change game if you cant wait 4 minutes.
3 -
This thread is hilarious 🤣
SV Mains are so pissed off for those possible 4 minutes. Get over it!
Side note: Killer get about 1500BP if they hook someone during EDC and they get sacrificed.
1 -
Cypress Mori should be baseline and give sacrifice points for this reason. Encourage killers to end it quickly instead of waiting out the clock. This can be made to be non-cancelable since it would only activate once one survivor was left.
The entity should only come into play if the killer can't find or is in a long chase with the last survivor when the hatch has been closed.
1 -
How about closing the hatch instantly kills the last survivor? Maybe moving killer camera to pan around the last survivor as he gets impaled?
Be happy you even get those 2-4minutes after the hatch closes, the other way around its a (mostly undeserved and free) instantaneous win for the survivor.
