Endgame Rewarding Killer's Bad Plays
The killer sacrificed all of the other survivors on one side of the map near the exit gate. When I was the last one left, the killer closed the hatch and started the endgame. I went to open the exit gate on the safe side of the map. The killer downed me, and I wiggled free before being hooked. I ran back to the exit gate and the killer slugged me. Then they just sat there until the endgame countdown ran out and I was sacrificed.

And that's bad play for the Killer how exactly?

The killer used up all the hooks on one side of the map. They didn't have Hangman's Trick. This used to punish killers. Not so, now.

I think the main problem is "When the EGC start and all remain survivors are downed,The killer choose to slugged them and waiting for the Entity killing them all and get free kill".
If at that time there are more than 1 survivor,it can be called as punishment because the survivors are open the door too fast & let the killer downed them at the late game while they're have a chance to help each other and escape.
But if at that time you are the last survivor,It's really frustrated when you have been slugged by the killer while in the EGC becuase you can't do anything and have to wait for 2-4 minutes to let the Entity kills you.I know the time is shorter than hatch stand-off but this situaton still very frustrated for me. ;_;
What I want to change about EGC is the killer should get less sacrifice score when it was done by the Entity. If the survivors get the punishment becuase they are too late to escape, the killers shold also get the punishment too if they are too late to hook survivor
EDIT : I just know that killer has been already get less score when the Entity kills survivors,so please ignore this comment.

Easy fix, all survivors left in the trial are slugged, they instantly get sacrificed.

The killer killed 3 survivors.
The killer found the hatch first.
And the killer found you, because you didnt hide.
You and your team failed 3 times,
but you want still another chance.

What about Unbreakable, No Mither, or Decisive Strike?

EGC is Killers needed their hand held after Legion nerf

Well, as you have only two minutes left once the endgame collapse has started hiding isn't really an option.
The endgame collapse may look nice on paper and have nice graphics / animations but it simply doesn't work out for me. Often there's hardly anything the last left survivor can do if he isn't lucky enough to find the hatch first.
- Hatch closed. Endgame collapse and NOED trigger.
- Killer walks to the gates immediately. If you hide you'll die. If he sees you you'll be knocked out and sacrificed.
- The reality often is rather that the killer leaves you on the ground until you're killed by the entity or he plays the "pick you up / let you wiggle free / knock you out / repeat" game for two minutes.
I'd often like to laugh when people write "Simply open a gate and escape".
For me the endgame collapse only made the game worse and more annoying.
Often it even rewards killers that simply camp one survivor after the other to death to then chase the last survivor until he gets killed by the "clock".
Do generators, help survivors while you're not being hooked once. Engame collapse starts. You get slugged to death for two minutes. "gg ez / git gud"
Wow, thanks!

Surprise, surprise! Killers already get less points from Endgame Collapse sacrifices than hook ones.

For me the endgame collapse only made the game worse and more annoying. Often it even rewards killers that simply camp one survivor after the other to death to then chase the last remaining survivor for two minutes until the entity does the work for him as he already didn't like to put a lot of effort into it before. Killer camp = 3 survivors have a free escape
They can just gen rush very easy, because the killer camp 1.
EGC timer: 2-4 min
Your team died and the killer find the hatch first.
And you want still escape?
The killer did his job, he killed your team.
You failed your job, you will die.
Its a horror game and not a playground for survivors with 100 second chances.

Good that hardly any killer uses "hex: ruin".
But hey, I already know your next answer:
"Good survivors hit every great skill check. If you don't you suck. But you should easily find and cleanse the hex totem immediately anyway. Otherwise you suck too."
Also good to know that three survivors can repair five generators within in two minutes and of course escape immediately afterwards before the killer can do anything.

@Herbie Pretty much your post is spot on. Previously, the killer could slug the 3rd survivor to bait out the 4th survivor and there was some skill involved if he wanted the 4K. Now he's pretty much guaranteed a 4K if he's Nurse/Billy and your team is completely crap. Previously, if your team was complete crap you could at least do two objectives and gain a chance at escape. Now....Every game mechanic and teammate screws you over? Well, too bad because people on here like @ShyN3ko will tell you to just play better and find the hatch first as if its a fair race. Because the hatch spawn location is totally not luck at all and there's a lot you can do to make sure you get there first. /S
You failed, you deserved to die. Lolz. The end!
2 -
Lol you were going to die anyway from being slugged. I guess it's just too bad that you were the last one found.

How long are minutes in your world? :^)

Oh.....I didn't know that before,sorry ;v;
I'm going to edit the comment now, thanks for the information.

You're saying that because I am at Survivor Rank 15 I deserve to stay at Rank 15, simply because the majority of the teammates that I'm matched with are bad, even if the killer is bad?
If I want to rank up, I have to be matched with better teammates? I have to be lucky enough to find the hatch first for ~20 matches in a row just to reach green ranks?
0 -
Yes.
Do you play League of Legends?
Its the same.
My team suck = I can lose the ranked game
I suck = my team can still carry me
Rainbow Six.
Overwatch.
All the same.
And DbD is a teamgame,too.

I'm loving the irony of this.
Survivors get rewarded for bad play all the time and it's totally fine.
But as soon as Killers get that, Survivors flip their #########.
If you don't like to be slugged run No Mither or Unbreakable.

Same as with Deliverance, couldve used it before the game decides to kill you.

Just play as killer. Easy matches, best way to get bloodpoints. No fun playing survivor anymore. The game is one sided towards killers

@Vlyse 1. Slugging the 3rd to get the 4th was complained about often. As is slugging in general.
2. Why would deserve to escape if you failed the objective? There can/should be only so many chances. Perhaps, it was you who played bad or worse than your teammates. Turn those thoughts inwards.
3. End game collapse doesn't start until the hatch is closed. Luck can favor you just as it can favor the killer. Maps are a great way of getting an edge on finding the hatch.
This is the most fair iteration of end game to date. I'd agree in that end game slightly favors the killer yet you still have your chance. As it is now, you don't even need to have 2 gens completed which some might say was pretty difficult to achieve when it was required.

Because the killer messed up? Didn't account for the hooks? If he slugs the player with no hatch available its 100% guaranteed kill for the killer every time. How is it fair when the killer made a bad move and the survivor made a smart move to stay near or use an exit near an area with no hooks?
0 -
Well 9/10 times the killer will find the hatch first, plus killer has free roam of map whereas the survivor needs to be slow and careful. If they go for an exit when the hatch is closed, hiding isn't an option they have to go for an exit thus revealing themselves and relying on luck. But all the killer has to do is check exits for 3 minutes. Its a free undeserved biased win for the killer how can you not see that?
0 -
Yeah when you perform better and outlive trash teamates you defo deserve to die for being the last one
0 -
Totally agree, devs only cater to whinging killers who refuse to put in the hours
0 -
Its clear you know nothing of DbD.
0 -
This was so well put. You nailed it, EGC looks good in image and concept but fails miserably and only caters to killers both good and trash.
0 -
So lemme get this straight.. The killer should be punished because there aren’t any available hooks nearby? By the sound of it, you fooled him once by wiggling free. The killer would have to be an idiot to fall for that again.

The survivor played a smart move and killer did not. However after wiggling off, there is only exit to go for. All killer has to do is follow him there and down him. Its 100% guaranteed win for killer. Surivor is punished and killer is reward. In this scenario before EGC Survivor could go for hatch
