Fine you want mandatory objectives then you got to find a 1 gasoline for each generator but you got to fully fix the gen first to be able to pour the gasoline then if you want to escape you have to find 1 of the two handles to the exit gates and fix it then pull the lever to escape there happy?

Why don't more people suggest a 2nd objective? We really need this and should be a big priority considering how meta genrushing is now Adrenaline is in everyone's build because you can get gens done faster if you don't heal up. I would rather have a 2nd objective than holding m1 for even longer it gets quite boring. Especially if you have a bad team and end up doing all 5 gens.

    YES! THIS EXACTLY!

You should have to WORK to get the game to slow down, not have it spoon fed to you. If there's a SWF with all toolboxes, then that's another issue on its own (you could just use Franklin's). However, if this is an "every game" scenario, then that's not the survivors' fault. My solution to "genrushing": Buff the killers with no map pressure AND with no way to slow the game down.

@Poweas I'm in the same place, though I went back to Overwatch with a few sprinkles of Paladins and Realm Royale. Dead by Daylight in its current balance form became boring for me, and I don't have nearly the hours in it that people like you do.

Which also means no more DLC and cosmetic (or Battle Pass) money from people like me.

Secondary objectives would definitely get me to load the game and hit the play-button again.

Sadly, I don't see it happening in the next calendar year. They seem to have their Year-4 roadmap already laid out. So, maybe I'll check back in mid-2020.

I’ve also been playing less but my reason is that survivor ques are very long on PS4.

    Mhm

@NightmareReborn personally I think that the gen rush problem is NOT entirely a balance problem.

So while they should absolutely do what you just said (buff killers with low map pressure/chase potential) it wouldn't solve all of the problems with the objective. Although it arguably would solve the most pressing one (depends on your priorities. Personally I consider non-balance problems to be more serious than balance issues)

@TreemanXD I also forgot to mention that I've been playing a lot of City of Heroes: Homecoming with friends and family. We were CoH vets from its launch in 2004 until its sunset in 2012. So, it's nice to be back in Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, and Praetoria again.

Devs should listen more to the community but we all know that devs ignore our ideas and they just do theyre own ideas and make it even worst xd

@DudeDelicious What I am writing is not offensive. You are basically claiming that you are playing better than every killer main streamer. You are describing how you win scenarios that none of those insanely good players can win. So I'd suggest that you should start streaming yourself and show us how it's done.

@thrawn3054 I've suggested a 2nd objective; its base idea is also to collect (gas in this case) and bring it to gens. If you want to, you can take a look here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1

I think people are misunderstanding what the term "secondary " means. For instance, the whole idea of having to get parts to fix the gens with. That is not secondary. That is part of the primary objective. Secondary would be an optional objective. One that rewards you somehow, but is not required in order to complete the gens and escape.

Think of the Halloween event. You could choose to fill a vial by squeezing ooze out of plants and were rewarded by getting lots of BP and a vial(currency). Survivors were dying in droves in order to skip gens and get a vial.

I think if the BP reward was good enough, survivors would happily complete secondary objectives.

I said “second” instead of “secondary”. A bp gain won’t stop anything.

@Warlock_2020 The majority of people here is correctly speaking of a "second objective", not a "secondary" one.

We need a 2nd objective for survivors for balance reasons.

Another positive effect: A 2nd objective would bring a new aspect to the game, a new impulse for those who have been playing this game for 2 or 3 years. A lot of the veterans are playing less than they used to or stopped playing at all. We could get these players back to the game.

@Kilmeran I have like 900 hours in total currently, I'm sure you've played as much as me or even more. But I used to be in love with this game. Now it's more of a thing of the past, something I once loved, but something I rarely play. I used to be obsessed with this game too, none stop thinking about strategies in chase and stuff while I daydreamed in about it.

Now I honestly don't prefer this over Fortnite. Which is something that I could never have even dreamed about 1 year ago. I used to disregard and look down upon the very idea that Fortnite could even come close to this game, but here we are.

If they add something good, I'm returning. If not, I'm out of it and will only check in on the forums to see the community, and how they've been getting on (I've made good friends here, including you @Kilmeran) and check the patch notes.

A side message to @Peanits can you pass on the idea of adding a secondary objective? I'd really appreciate it.

Just lets wait for GhostFace perk that looks like new BBQ but unlike BBQ it doesnt require you to do extremely good to apply pressure. Shall we?

So killer is not suppose to lose if he did bad?To win as a killer you just need to apply early pressure, find rescuer, down 2 survivors for gods sake you just need to play according to a plan. Dont get looped simple as that . Break pallets that allows survivors to pallet loop killer forever. Dont chase survivor in god spots. Camp. Tunnel.

A perk locked behind a pay wall should never be a solution.

    Everyone will buy it though.

Yet you ask for what? Adding more objectives? When i can win already with 5 gens? The game is built around 5 gens you add more you will end up breaking the game(camping will get op etc). If anything gens time should be increased slightly(extra 10-15 sec wont hurt). At the very worst case scenario developers can just remove survivors perks that helps them in a chase and a few perks maybe(borrowed time etc). That would fix the problem for sure 100% sure.

    So you guys know deathgarden?

Its assimetrical game like dbd but with parkour and guns.

The way scavengers [survivors of deathgarden] can escape is by delivering blood at bloodposts.

Kinda like survivors have to repair generators.

    BUT!!

Scanvengers first have to colllect that blood.

So imagine : what if survivors first would have to collect parts in order to repair gens.

Parts could be collected from little boxes [or something like that] in form of charges.

There would be maybe about 20 boxes on map. Theoreticaly about 14 boxes would be requered as minimum.

Collecting parts would take about 0-30 seconds depending how many parts you take.

Maximum amount of parts survivor could carry at once would be 30.

Survivors would have another bar, indicating how many charges they have, and maybe little bags [kinda like in deathgarden they have little jars or whatshouldicallem] on them for sake of appeal.

Toolboxes would increase speed at which you install parts into gen [which they pretty much do now], maybe they would increase how many charges survivor could carry.

Also i think brand new part could get change, either small rework or keep it but change its rarity to purple.

i was also thinking that franklins demise should affect charges. Maybe like this 0\-5\-10 charges on hit.

    Thoughts?

I disagree with requiring a second objective. Not every killer player is good. I have no problem putting pressure on the map with Trapper up until purple ranks. The survivors get better here and my own skill sets make it difficult. As someone who plays with colorblind issues to where most maps require that I hunt by movement, I begin to peek in purple or low red ranks.

Coordinated SWF groups are a gen rushing machine, and will always be. If we hedge the game towards their ability to get things done, we will destroy it for the majority of players.

In short, if you are not good at keeping pressure on the map, you will not do well. The ranks are there for a reason.

I think it would also live up survivors gameplay, cuz its not really fun to be holding M1 whole game.
