Killers get to keep instadown (noed) since forever but survivors lose their perk after a few months
That is some great bias from the devs.
A killer playing bad can still 1-shot someone with the crutch perk NOED.
A survivor playing bad cannot have any perk to help them survive, even when their aura is shown after they heal.
Seems only fair that killers should lose NOED as a perk whit this kind of balancing from the devs.

Dark Sense, seriously this is extremely effective against NOED as long as you aren’t already in a chase.
15 -
listen, I'm not advocating for noed, but at least there IS a counter any survivor could pull off. there was no avoiding mettle as an m1 killer.
72 -
Why are you waiting for the devs to remove something you can remove yourself?
76 -
As far as i´m aware, the survivor equivalent of NOED has been untouched for a long time: Adrenaline.
61 -
They don't even remotely compare. MoM was actually screwing up the game balance to such a degree that it needed to be addressed immediately. NoED is one of the easiest to counter perks in the game on either side. Survivors just don't cleanse totems and then complain about a perk that has been nerfed to hell and back over the years already. Even without MoM survivors are just fine. You've still got DS, BT, Instaheals, adrenaline, and a sea of palettes. Make it work. I do and I don't even play survivor that much. Yet, I still solo'd into green ranks without using any crutches.
The perk should have never been designed to be so recklessly lenient in the first place and then released to the public. We wouldn't have to get thread after thread of "Muh MoM Perk is dead kill noed cause balance!"
Just play the game and wait till they do their job. Everyone knows protection hits are wonky.
17 -
Even killers complain about NOED, lol.
A lot of killer players say that NOED is used only by people who are bad at playing that character or at the game in general, and I agree with that. The only killer who *could* use NOED is trapper, but just because he loses a lot of pressure early game.
When playing survivor, I've seen many bad killers get a 4k only because they got carried by NOED at the end of the game.
But still, NOED has a counter: cleasing the totems.
Honestly, as a killer main, I wish NOED was reworked. It's a perk that rewards you for playing poorly. Just like DS and MoM were changed to not be incredibly broken.

^This
I used to get crap from fellow survivors for bothering to do totems, yet the amount of times I've helped nix NOED, pretty much means I stopped giving a fudge and carried on. Even if you don't want to do totems, you can at least memorise the dull totem locations to take it out when it does proc and you have a team member on a hook.
If NOED was garunteed from the get go, i'd be a bit miffed with it, but it has a counter.
16 -
Cleanse the totems if you have such a big problem with NOED
Stop whining, MoM and DS needed a rework because they were unfair and gave survivors an unfair advantage, to that sum up the fact that they had no actual counter.
14 -
Survivors: Devs give us a secondary objective. Only gens is boring!
Also Survivors: nerf NOED!
22 -
Both perks have disadvantages.
Lots of perk cant "be played around" whatever that means. It don't mean they need nerf.
BUT survivors are not allowed to have strong perks.
AND they charged MONEY for this character with 1 good perk, man this game will die if devs keep doing stupid plays like this.
0 -
But you do have strong perks to help you out! what about exhaustion perks? are they weak?
If you bought the character just for the perk then you bought him for the wrong reason mate
16 -
@Tzeentchling9 I'm quoting this everytime someone complains to the devs about Noed. XD
12 -
exhastion is not something killer have to play with, they have many more stronger perks that works all the time.
imagine the crying from killers if some of their best perks only worked 1 time a minute and then only if they moved around slower LOL
sad how this game turned out to be like this or maybe it was always going to.
0 -
could you... name those strong killer perks that work all the time?
16 -
Why do i even bother, you wouldnt understand simply because you dont want to
9 -
Nobody said anyone buy a character "JUST" for a perk, BUT you BUY a character WITH its perks, get it ?
Its a PACKAGE u BUY, the devs make this PACKAGE and then destroys part of what made u BUY this in the first place.
you cant trust devs that pull that move. i get to spend money on a new char with different looks but plays the same like all the other survivors what a privilege and will only need a few million bp to get the perks on him, thank you devs good purchase i wont ever do again
0 -
You can BUY those perks with ingame currency when they come out on the weekly shrine.
Hex perks can be PERMANENTLY removed by survivors. Imagine the cryout survivors would have, if one of their perks got permanently removed, because someone held M1 for 30 seconds.
11 -
oh lord. cleanse all the totems. equals no noed. simple. and with that peace out 🙄😴
6 -
-
all survivors have to do is waste time running around looking for every totem in a map to defend against one of the broken perk ? EASY
waste time? check.
dont go gens? check
if solo no way of telling others what/where u have cleansed? check
potentially miss a totem thus all that time was wasted anyway? check
killers have to m1 one more time but DONT wana so they cry about another perk? check
totaly balanced
2 -
If you break all the totems, you successfully nerf NOED.
8 -
Lol you must be new here. Noed was great perk back in the day, then it got extremely gutted several times becasue "killers had a strong perk" and survivors are only ones who can have strong perks right.
If you're complaining because of the change to MoM then don't bother, it was freaking OP before and extremely easy to get without any real counter whatsoever. Now it's main purpose is in bodyblocking builds so either play them or don't cry about healthy balance changes to your OP perks.
11 -
noed is better now then it was just for the time invested survivors must do to potentially play around it and that is no guarantee they did so in success.
2 -
Even after it activates it can still be destroyed. You also have Dark Sense, Small Game, Premonition, eyeballs, and a bunch of other perks and basic human features that can help you avoid NOED.
9 -
and killers can click m1 again to down mettle
1 -
Disabling a perk before it ever activates is a counter. Dealing with a perk's effects after it's been activated is not.
16 -
Ok let's change adrenaline so that if killer kicks generators 10 times adrenaline is disabled for every survivor. Killer would be wasting his time kicking gens not hunting anyone to potentially disable perk survivors don't even have to be using.
8 -
Adrenaline rewards you for doing your objective. Surviving, at least until all gens are powered.
NOED rewards you for not completing your objective, sacrificing. At least up until the gates are powered.
Pretty subpar comparison, but I don’t care about NOED.
If most Survivor players ran Small Game NOED would be extinct.
6 -
it still has a cost in time - which the game is all about - time management. and even so if u invest perk slots to counter this broken noed perk you still are not guaranteed to break all totems then ur time was wasted right so killers cant lose by using this perk its so good
2 -
No, your time was invested. This game is also about risk management.
If you can't avoid NOED using your own skill, you have two choices: invest time and effort into countering it, or do nothing and hope you get lucky.
8 -
Except there are four survivors, every survivor bumps into at LEAST one totem in a game, usually more. At the most, you disable his perk if you each did a few seconds work away from the gens, at the least, you narrow down the location of the hex with 1-2 totems maybe left.
At the end of the day...no, you don't HAVE to cleanse totems if you don't feel its worth your time. At the very worst, they don't have NOED, but you have emblem points and BP.
Shrugs
I don't stand anywhere on the MoM front because it was never a perk that interested me in the first place due to my play style, but I'm pretty tired of hearing people complain about NOED, while in the same breath saying that Totems are a waste of time.
8 -
its not an investment at all when the objective is to escape, can you open doors cleansing totems ? no ok then
you spend extra time = cost, to potentially disable a broken killer perk. yea that is fair right
0 -
If the completely counterable perk keeps you from escaping because you lack the skill to deal with it, then it's an investment.
9 -
Spine chill, adrenaline, DS and resilience/prove thyself is my build and all of these are good.
1 -
potentially counterable perk that u cant even be sure the killer has (mettle has obsession for at least 1 surv) and u use extra time in a match that you should be using to escape yeah no good comparison
how can survivor see the killer has noed except when hes already downed one with it ? yeah ok then
0 -
Your objective is to escape, yes.
Can an open gate get you off the hook while a NOED wielding killer is standing by you?
9 -
You do know there are other obsession perks, right?
If it keeps you from escaping, you have two choices: counter it or deal with it. You don't get to ignore a perk's perfectly clear and simple counters and also ignore the perk's effects. That's just how the game works.
7 -
counter it and deal with it are the same thing and both means very little against noed
either u waste time looking for all totems = killer win
or
you do gens and if u live to all 5 are done u get 1 shot = killer win
and only killer can have perks that make an impact on the game like that because using m1 one more time is just not fun yes
0 -
@altruistic Subpar comparision?
- activate once the gates are powered
- give a speed bonus
- alter the amount of hits required to down a survivor
Both perks are literally the same!
So yes, use Small Game and cleanse those totems.
Oh wait, now people will complain, that they shouldn´t be forced to use certain builds, just to counter a perk...
4 -
So many survivors just want to disable killer perks but they don't want to waste their time for it. It's not like it's survivors who set pace of the game and killer who is in dire need of more time when he faces good survivors. Right now totems even give emblem points so the is litteraly no reason no to do them when they even count towards "winning".
2 -
Dealing with the perk after it activates is not the same thing as countering it. Unless it's a hex perk, of course, because those can be taken away at any time without the killer being able to do anything about it.
I've had trials where every totem was broken and still a majority of the survivors escaped. Maybe you're just not as good as you think.
5 -
DS, BT, Self care, all exhaustion perks, adrenaline, unbreakable, and so many more that have extreme impact on result of each match.
I wish we got perkless mode so that survivors can see how super dependant they are on their perks unlike killers who's perks get disabled 30s into the match.
2 -
gens can be finished in 3 min if killer is afk LOL, are you afk farming in game ?
and even if game is done in 3 min killer can still kill with his noed perk wow good balance there devs thumbs up so even if surv does the game flawless (never happen)
so my point still stands only killers can have good perks that impact the game and devs are biased in the way they balance perks, even to a point to tricking customers into purchasing dlc
0 -
The only impact self-care has is helping the killer. The rest are good.
3 -
Oh really, most used survivor perk helps the killer ? I wonder why.
2 -
I hope people use this when I’m killer. Those delicious 32 seconds of you not doing gens are very helpful.
2 -
Not as helpful as spending 20-60s (or even more) of finding random teammate to spend even more time to heal them and then running across the map once again to get to important gens that killer is patrolling.
With SC you can just duck around nearest pallet, heal and continue to pressure the gen withou wasting someone else's time. It spares not just your time but your teammate's as well so no it's incredibly powerfull and definitely doesn't help the killer. Stop beiing delusional.
