Rework Gen Repair "Gameplay"

(TLDR) Constant Skill Checks for Gens, Rebalance Skill Check Perks/Killers for it, Gen Tapping shouldnt be easy.


I'll be honest, the most bland part of playing Survivor is "repairing" the generators.

When it comes down to it; mechanics like juking, bullying, and maybe even immersion are more interesting than hold M1 on the Main Objective of the game.

There is no skill required unless you consider common sense to ditch a gen when a killer approaches or avoiding a 3 gen situation a "skill".

Personally, I feel constant Skill Checks, similar to Friday the 13ths Objective Completion, would make being a Gen Jockey so much more interesting than waving your camera around as youre literally just massaging the clunk of metal. Of course, this would require balancing out Perks like Lullaby and Ruin or Killers like Doctor and Freddy.

I also want to address Gen Tapping, whether it's to stop Gen Regression or "Counter Ruin".

I'd like to see the Survivors put in more effort to stop Regression than simply poking the Gen for a millisecond after the Killer had just hammered down on the thing like it was a TBagging Nea.

Make it similar to Cleansing or Mending but quicker, where you can't Repair the Gen until youve "Adjusted" it from the damage the Killer had inflicted on it.

As a Survivor, I always found Gen Rushing so boring especially when it feels like the Killer has been chasing that one toxic survivor all match and I feel cheated out of the thrill of escaping a trial.
