WGLF is the survivors Farming perk much like BBQ is the killers farming perk. Unfortunately WGLF has a negative aspect of not only encouraging bad gameplay from the survivors ie hook farming but it is also a tremendous pain in the ass to consistently get 4 stacks on it compared to BBQ. With BBQ its rare to walk away from a match without 4 stacks with WGLF your lucky to get 4. This needs to change. BBQ provides the killer with incentive to play fair by rewarding him with points for not tunneling and a fresh victim if he doesn't camp. WGLF rewards YOLO hook divers that only get the team killed.

I propose that WGLF not only encompass altruism actions but also survivor objectives. Examples of things that could be added that would give you a stack in addition to what it currently does.

Repairing a generator
cleansing a hex totem
escaping the trial
escaping the trial with teammates. So you and one other escape thats 2 stacks. All 4 escape thats 4 stacks.
Opening an exit gate
Healing a survivor one health state

Also rework how earning the stack for unhooking someone works. Right now you get the stack the moment you unhook regardless of what happens to the unhooked survivor. This is the root of the bad game play this perk encourages. I think the unhooking stack should work the same way as the benevolence emblem. Once you unhook someone you are not immediately awarded the stack. If the survivor goes down right after the unhook or shortly thereafter like 10 - 15 seconds the stack will not be rewarded.

With these changes WGLF would not be such a pain to consistently get 4 stacks. It would reward a survivor by playing well. Escaping, doing the objective and helping the team. Not only that but the encouragement to hook farm with the killer around would no longer be viable.

Thoughts? Opinions? It would be nice to have a good, viable farming perk when playing as survivor that can consistently get full stacks like BBQ.

I am surprised there is so little support for a harmless buff like this.

    Balance Feedback is just deadish.

Everyone puts feedback in the GD and the mods are okay with it.

Yeah no kidding. Well since you commented at least what do you think of my suggestion. Anything you would like to add to it or perhaps change?

I like this change. You wouldn’t have to drop whatever you’re doing and run over to the Survivor who’s being hooked/chased in order to get a stack. It also discourages sandbagging the Survivor that you just saved. In the perk’s current state, you might as well call it “I’m Gonna Sandbag Forever”.

You could also change it so that if the killer is within x distance you don't get the token for unhooking to prevent the grief farming. also change the rehook penalty to 20-30 seconds depending on x so the killer can't work with that survivor. Where x is only known to the devs so it can't be gamed.

I thumbed it up right away! :p

I fully agree with the gist of the changes. The purpose of WGLF is completely lost, and it's a shame that the developers don't really care that it promotes bad/toxic gameplay (taking unneeded hits, farming teammates, wasting time to compete at unhooks, etc.). Making it like the Benevolence points, and encouraging things that actually promote surviving is what it needs.

I wouldn't give stack for escaping the trial though. I think it should award the points if the person you saved/protected escapes within 45 seconds with a countdown.

I suggest fixing the WGLF sandbagging problem by setting it to 2 tokens for 50% each and adding the following effect to it:

    **Take me instead!
    **
When you unhook another survivor, your health state is reduced to injured and their health state is raised to healthy. No effect if you are already injured. At rank 2/3, your movement speed is reduced by 50/25% for 5 seconds and the rescued survivor runs at 150% speed for 3 seconds. This effect occurs regardless of health state.

As good as your suggestion is, very little chance it'll happen. I don't think anything from these subforums is even read as it seems the developers and community managers have their own agenda...

+1, WGLF needs more love, or at least a rework to not make it a toxic sandbag perk, while buffing the bonus Bloodpoints.
