Prologue

Since a lot of forum users want to see a Deep Wounds buff, I'm going to pretend that I'm a developer at BHVR, and I just released the patch notes for buffing Deep Wounds. Hopefully, y'all will enjoy, and keep in mind that values can be changed later to fit the balance of the game.

Deep Wounds
  • Both the survivor and the killer cannot see the Deep Wounds Timer, just the Deep Wound Bar to indicate who's affected by Deep Wounds.
  • The Deep Wounds Timer will pause when you're within a 16 meter range to the killer.
  • The Deep Wounds Timer will no longer pause while: In a Chase or in the killer's Terror Radius. Mending will still pause the Deep Wound Timer.
  • When canceling the Mend action, the Deep Wounds Timer will drop by 7.5 seconds, and you'll lose all your Mend Progress.
  • Besides using items, performing an action that has a progress bar will deplete your Deep Wounds Timer at double the normal speed.

Epilogue

Hopefully, y'all will enjoy my idea of a Deep Wounds patch notes! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially constructive feedback!

Nah nevermind, trying to do the math and it seems about impossible to moonwalk. About 9 seconds to 32 meters assuming the survivor stayed still and 4 seconds to fatigue. Think thats enough time?

I see this is as the best change to Deep Wounds yet, especially the first and fifth change.

Assuming the survivor is running in a straight line, they will need to be further than 4 seconds away from you before their Deep Wounds Timer begins to deplete. This is because 16 meters divided by 4 meters (Survivors' base movement speed), is 4 (the time it takes in seconds for a survivor with base movement to travel 16 meters). If you stay further than 16 meters for a cheese strategy, they will just Mend to pause their Deep Wound Timer (up to a maximum of 4 times since their Deep Wounds Timer drops by 7.5 seconds when they stop Mending). However, by the time you cheese them, you'd have wasted around 2 minutes trying to bait the survivor.

  • Yeah, i knew something was off about my complaint. Thanks for clarifying, and i hope your suggestion actually makes it to the top along with some good Legion buffs.

Sorry, i know this is not a Legion post .-.

Seems decent. I just personally don't like this - "When canceling the Mend action, the Deep Wounds Timer will drop by 7.5 seconds, and you'll lose all your Mend Progress."

Survivors should be forced to waste time by hiding and Mending. Since you have all the time in the world to find a safe position to Mend, it should be punishing if you're caught Mending.

    1) Possibly my favourite change with the lack of knowledge on how much time you have left it definitely makes mending a huge priority. Survivors who neglected too much could very easily end up getting themselves down

    2) I love this change it means you could experiment a lot more terror radius build on Legion. It would also mean iridescent button doesn't benefit survivors with deep wounds especially considering killer instinct is no longer attached to the terror radius. The one thing I would say is that it might need a slight range increase like maybe 20 m just to avoid another potential moonwalk exploit

    3) With the default killer range limit I definitely don't see a problem with this. It would definitely stop the amount of people who could just hiding your terror radius and do actions like generators without being punished

    4) I really love the changes I would say the dropping by 7.5 seconds is a little unnecessary as I could be valid reasons for a survivor to stop mid way. It's probably something that would need to be tested just to see if it's possible to cheap it out.

If it is too overpowered another penalty for constant disengagement of mending could be a penalty to mending speed. However I really like the idea of the progression restarting.

    5) Depleting the Deep wounds bar faster is an amazing idea. It really force is the survivor to prioritise the Deep wounds status effect similar to reverse bear traps it's a massive pet peeve to see a survivor working on a generator whilst they have a deep wound bar on because of how little of a threat it is.
