Struggling when caught is pointless right now

Hi,

Am I the only person that thinks struggling on a killer's back is pointless right now? I feel like you could be the fastest person in the world at pressing A+D and still never get off before being hooked, unless any of the other survivors help. Without help however, you are royally screwed and get hooked EVERY TIME. This needs to be addressed because otherwise you may as well just take away the struggle option imo.

you're not supposed to get off unless other survivors help.

It's only there so that killer can't basement you every time.

You're not meant to wiggle out once the killer's picked you up. Seriously. It's not expected behavior, and if it was, the ENTIRE game would need to be rebalanced because of it, because it would make killers have to work so much harder to get kills.

Wiggling out of a killer's grasp should only happen if:

    a) You've got good teamplay on your side (or at least, people who happen to take advantage of a good opportunity)

    b) The killer makes a mistake by taking you to a hook that's too far away.

    or

    c) You get very lucky with how other things shake out (hooks damaged by other survivors dying creating a zone where the killer can't reach another hook in time, etc).

In every other case, you're not intended to get out- you got caught, you SHOULD go on the hook.

So why wiggle at all? What's the point of a mechanic that you're not expected to escape from?

It's a mechanic to make sure the killer doesn't just hook you at the place of their choice, which would often be the basement, since it's the easiest place to defend. Instead, because you wiggle, they have to make sure to get to a hook that's nearby (which can occasionally expose them to good team plays or make them need to take risky moves like running through a pallet that can be dropped on them).

First, the struggling isn't depended on your speed. You just need to hit the minimum speed and everyone has the same struggle.

Second, the design of struggle is not that you get off his shoulder in a normal scenario. It's there to prevent a killer to hook you across the map to the basement everytime he wants to.

Furthermore: sabotage, flip flop and decent team mates body blocking are still existent.

The struggle is there to keep the killer from taking the survivor hostage. If you couldn't struggle, the killer could keep you on their shoulder forever as the bleedout timer doesn't go down while being carried.

I think there was a developer update a little while back that said there would be a new scoring event added for wiggling while being carried by the killer. It does feel kind of empty trying to struggle as it is.
