Map design is the main problem with this game at rank 1

Not sure if the dev team isnt skilled enough to fix the problem because every update seems like a bandaid fix to "balance"

At this point anything to make all killers viable at rank 1 would be great even if they added more pallets but removed the looping so at least im doing something instead of going around in circles would be more fun than it is now

I play both killer and surv and sometimes i need to loop because its the only way to survive so there needs to be something what benefits both sides but in the long run all the maps and pallet/window placement needs to be thoroughly looked at during high rank play to make it fun for both sides

Perks are also in the same boat because of how grindy the game is, no new players are going to have DS or any of the second chance perks or addons so once again they dont benefit, only rank 1/swf teams get a massive advantage over killers

Ive been playing since beta and i still do like the game but once i get to rank 1 unless i play nurse it always gets boring real quick because of the looping/body blocking and i think 2 years is a crazy amount if time where the same issues from beta are still a huge issue in the game today (looping)

Map design is the biggest issue. However, we’ve been telling them that for the last two years. It’s too large of a fix for them to undertake at this point as they kept adding more maps and increasing how many they would have to work on. In an ideal scenario, pallets need to be reduced dramatically, like cut in half. In that same token though, survivors have no other way to get away. They need to at the same time add a ton more bushes/debri/fog they you can juke mid chase with. Think swamp maps but even heavier chances to lose sight. This would shift more of the gameplay into skilled jukes rather than running circles around a pallet all game with no skill involved.

Yes, but it would be way too much effort to change all the maps so we only get band aid like bloodlust and ######### like that.
If they introduce more close quarter maps, then billy and huntress will die out and we will remain with nurse killers. Not sure if this is what we really want....

Maybe I'm an unskilled killer but it seems the solution to these problems was to add a good map for killer and a good map for survivor. Off the top of my head father Campbell chapel favors killer whilst disturbed ward favors survivors. Then again i am playing myers so disturbed ward might be preferable for nurse and hillbilly. I feel like for stealth to work efficiently we need to remove some of the more powerful tracking perks. bbq and chili is a little too powerful on nurse and billy and whispers is really problematic in high tier play. What your opinions?

Exactly this. And maybe nerf anti stealth perks, just a bit though. Like BBQ from 4 seconds to 3 level of little

It's really not that big of a fix that's in order. At least I can't imagine it being this massive undertaking. Just delete some of the pallets in the more obnoxious maps. The Thompson House, for example. sure as hell does not need 6-7 pallets on either side of the house. Cut that ######### down to about 2 pallets on both sides. Done. Fixed. Move on.

No not fixed. Survivors need to not be able to distract the killer even close to as long, or just increase objective time, but should get much more LOS breakers, and actual ways to completely break a chase or juke. Just look at blood lodge. It’s pallet Hell, but there is NO WAY you’re hiding in that map
