Selfcare suggestion

Hey, with the ptb just going live I wanted to mention a change I had in mind for Selfcare.

Selfcare is a rather effortless perk, where you get a lot for doing rather little (or nothing at all). I thought about turning Selfcare into what it should be. Since Claudette was mentioned as the healer of the team, it should come with that in mind. We can improve this as time goes on, but I would like to hear what you guys think.

Whenever you heal other survivors you keep the scraps, for the potential time in need. Healing other survivors grants 30%/40%/50% of the progression meter that you healed in scraps to you, filling up a small bar. Using a medkit on others grants you 100% of the scraps. This bar can be used as a medkit of it's own at 50% the healing speed and only goes as far as the meter allows. When it's depleted you need to heal other survivors to refill the meter.

To elaborate: Healing others fills the small meter which is basically a medkit. To me this is what selfcare should be like, since it is limited, but only to a certain degree. Maybe we can change some of the numbers, but I'll leave it for now.

What do you guys think?

An interesting idea, but I dont think medkits should grant 100%.

Also when you heal yuorself with the scraps, then you heal as fast as you currently do with SC?

The thing with the medkit would be that for your choice of actively using up something of potential use for yourself for others instead, you are granted a bonus. And yes, the healing speed would be the same, since it's really just scraps you grabbed and not truly a fully fledged medkit. The numbers can change though, I'm up for suggestions.

I like the idea but I'm just imagining a Claudette ripping the flesh off another survivor to heal herself with. Anyways question but would the charges you get for self-care be affected by Botany Knowledge?

    Brutal... - I love it.

I'd say since it basically interacts nicely with her kit and would kind of be considered a 'medkit' it would be affected by Botany Knowledge. I believe a name change would be in order though, since I can't get that image out of my head now. Butchery Knowledge perhaps. :)

Can't really say that SC is too OP. I liked actually the way devs told they change this.
So, they said that healing progress will go to zero if self heal was interrupted. Unlike medkits, which should save the current progress, if there was an interruption.
Strange that this change didn't make it to PTB tho.

Self-care isn't exactly OP. It's just a QOL perk. DS and Sprint burst are effortlessly overpowered perks since you don't require brain cells to use either perk. Self-care can be seen as a solo or team-based perk. When Bond fails to get you healed because your teammates are scattered or dead, or the others need help you're useless to them because injured. I always thought healing progression should regress if you stop healing, self-care or medkits, because you are bleeding after all.

When a perk is used by 99% of the survivors, then you should be aware that there is sth wrong.
Also SC enables solo play, making a survivor possible to heal himself instead of having to search for a teammate which can take quite some time (ofc not the case in SWF, but thats broken anyway)

Not really. The same could be said about BBQ on killers side. It's a good perk, and you have a right to use it.
