Ranking System

The Dead By Daylight emblem system of ranking has been really god awful for a very long time, and I've still managed to get wins, but hot damn am I absolutely pissed this time.

After picking Plague and getting a VERY DECISIVE game, in which I dominated all the survivors, killing all four (iridescent devout) and protecting the gens so that when the game was over only 3 were even completed (iridescent gatekeeper), I got out of the game screen all elated about having won, only to be told that no

I did NOT in fact, win. "Brutal Killer" in big letters on my screen. A black pip. The game telling me that I dominated them SO hard that I actually just tied, because by some miracle, even though I kept hooking them and kept downing them and didn't camp and protected the whole map, I was too good, so I didn't let them LIVE long enough to get higher than bronze CHASER.

Now, at the core of EVERY issue I have right now with the game, is how awful the ranking system is. If I get four kills, that should be considered a win, regardless of what happened to get me those four kills. No other PvP game out there- not a SINGLE ONE- punishes you for winning "wrong", outside of hacking or cheating. If there is a mechanic in the game, then why am I not "ALLOWED" to use it? If I have to win through NOED in four minutes because they were SWF with amazing toolboxes, but I still win through good use of NOED and Blood Warden, then why do I get depipped because four kills with no gatekeeper isn't winning "right"?

And worst of all, if I DOMINATE them so hard that they ragequit, why am I punished for that by depipping for not having enough hooks or chases? If I crush them quickly so there aren't enough chases because they keep getting downed immediately, why is that bad for me?

It punishes gen grabbing from ambush killers, it punishes Plague since she doesn't try to hit survivors until they're already infected, all because they don't have a ton of chases. They're designed to win through not chasing too much, and in fact, if you chase too much, you LOSE, because the survivors will just loop you for ages.

A killer should just have "Less than 2 kills is a loss, 2 kills is a tie, and 3 or 4 kills is a pip". The emblems can absolutely count for points, or high scores, or double pips, but being given a safety pip- a tie- for dominating them TOO hard is moronic.

Moreso, it defeats the purpose of a ranking system. If I'm beating them that badly, and thus forced to stay at the SAME rank, it keeps killers and survivors from actually progressing into ranks that will challenge them.

I don't play survivor as much, but even when I do, I get punished if the killer didn't hook anyone because we all avoided them. You have clearly not considered "Well what happens if we just beat them too much?" and have overcomplicated the win condition of the game. Entity Displeased should not flash on my screen if I killed four survivors, as it will often with moris or slugging. If you did not want Moris or Slugging to be used, then do not put them in the game.

I really hope a tremendous rework of how ranking works and how wins are qualified is in the future. This is absurd.
