Why do people call Clown the worst killer?
I don’t get it, with Clown, you can end chases and loops like it’s nothing by just throwing a bottle on them and making them run at snail speed. I get it, his stats might not be the best, but I feel like he’s still better than Trapper, Wraith, Leatherface, Legion, and Doctor

Yup. Wraith is better than Clown because of his increased mobility, but otherwise Clown is better than Trapper, LF, Legion and Doc.
4 -
And youre right. Clown is better than all those killers you've mentioned.
2 -
Clown can‘t stop loops at all, he can just make you waste pallets slightly faster that‘s it: His ability doesn‘t help in chases either because the slow is too little and he gets slowed down a lot when throwing the bottles.
2 -
But basekit clown clown can easily end the shack loop and others while the other killers I mentioned can’t (except for maybe trapper but you have to either waste time or think ahead.) And I feel like his slow is enough to go and get a hit, especially just before you’re about to vault, making you do a slow/medium kind of vault
2 -
He can make survivors waste shack pallet faster but they still can loop the shack a few times and run off to another pallet nearby to counter it. His slow can be countered quite heavily by good survivors.

You are correct, Clown is easily better than all of those Killers.
The problem with Clown is, is while he is indeed good at chasing, he is not good enough to play him without Chase Perks. If his Chase-Potential would be good enough to not need to use Enduring (with or without Spirit Fury), or Brutal Strength, it would be way better, when he can only focus on Slowdown and Tracking Perks.

I dont think there is such a thing as THE worst killer. But Clown certainly is among the weaker killers in his current state.
The reason is that his kit is very limited and underwhelming. He is good at catching survivors in the open and herding them where he wants to, but thats about it. And the way the game is now, its not enough.
You still have to break safe pallets just like any other M1 killer. You power only help you catch survivors before they reach a safe loop. But some maps are nothing but safe loops extremely close to each other.
And if you can't end a chase before you run out of bottles, reloading will forfeit all the momentum you had gained.
The most baffling thing about the Clown his that his gas does absolutly nothing to survivor actions aside from vaulting. They scream once, and I'm not even sure it interupt their progress. You can heal, work on generators, or do anything you bloody want while huffing the afterpiece tonic. There is no action speed penalty or any effect on skillchecks. Why ?

I don't think people said he was the worst killer

Clown is a good killer. I don't understand why killers don't like him. I find him hard to fight actually because he can shut down loops with his perfume.
1 -
My only problem with him is the time it takes to refill his bottles and that he only has a base of 4 bottles.
0 -
Clown's ability does nothing against good Survivors who know not to get caught in the open. His power only excels in easily prevented situations.
1 -
Hes not the worst, I just dont find fun in playing him
0 -
Clown is mid tier. His chase potential is the best after Nurse/Spirit. He has 0 map pressure though which hurts him.
IMO Wraith and LF are below him for sure.

The well ordered principle guarantees that there must be a worst Killer.

My problem with Clown is his lack of lethality and mobility. Even the iridescent add-on for instant downs requires direct bottle hits. In that Tru3 video with the generators that got everyone so hot under the collar, that's one of the reasons why he got humiliated so bad: he needed direct hits for his add-on, survivors kept easily dodging them.
If I were to buff him, I would remove the movement speed penalty from reloading and give the gas some kind of lingering effect, like Plague or Doctor. That stuff is supposed to be a muscle relaxant powerful enough to let him vivisect his prey, being hit with it multiple times over the match should have consequences.

*some chases. He has nothing for long wall w/ window next to a long wall/short wall pallet, for example. Most safe loops are still safe. The already unsafe pallets just become less safe. He just forces pallets down early against experienced survivors. The games are typically over by the time you go through enough pallets to make a difference due to his lack of mobility/pressure/stall. He has bugs specific to him. He takes forever to reload. Other killers simply do the same things he does, but better, and they offer other things on top of that. I play him because I like his aesthetic, but give snare Freddy a try to really illustrate the difference.

i feel like people in this post underrate Trapper a bit...
yeah, he is not a top tier killer, but he is definitely not below clown!
clown can reduce the amount of time survivors can loop a structure? trapper can literally force them to move by placing a trap at the pallet / window he gets looped at (or you can fake it, force them to move and then have another trap for a new loop)
also, trapper has basically a oneshot ability with his traps, clown needs an ultra rare add on for that.
we need some #TrapperLove in here :c
(Clown is definitely better than Bubba / Legion though)

Oh no you didn’t >:c

The problem is that he has no map pressure. He is only good at preventing loops and even in that he is not the best, because we have Freddy. Is he better than Legion and Wraith? Maybe..? At least Legion and Wraith have some kind of pressure on survivors with high mobility
1 -
oh yes i did >:c

I don’t, I won’t, I can’t believe it. >:c
0 -
you will.
and you can believe it, you just choose not to >:c

LF is s+++ tier! >:c
0 -
that means every other killer is at least s++++ tier then! >:c
0 -
Nope Clown is S++, Legion is S+ and every other killer is F tier. >:c
0 -
Clown Is definitely not mid tier. However you want to rank him he is still among the worst three, even if he were the best of the worst it’s still bad
and in what world is his chase potential better than any of the stealth killers, billy, or doctor?
0 -
only if 'S' stands for "Super bad" and 'F' stands for "Fcking good" >:c
0 -
F stands for ######### losers and S stands for Super killers! >:c

Because his power is only useful in chases and even then it's lacklustre most of the time. Especially since Freddy now does everything Clown does but 100% better.

Bubba and Clown will only make it up the "scary killers to face" list when they finally get their swimming trunks cosmetic! >:c

*eats popcorn* go on

Naked clown and bubba! >:c

finally we can agree on something! >:c

He is not the worst but weaker than avarage Killers.

You’re making him sound better than he is. Yeah on paper a killer than can slow survivors down in a chase is pretty good, but hey a killer that can vault pallets just like survivors, makes him faster than normal when using his ability and gives him information of where other survivors are must be S tier too, right? Or what about a killer that can shock survivors and completely deny vaults and pallet throws? Damn that stuff looks pretty game breaking if you ask me.
You’re missing all the negatives about Clown. He only has 4 bottles and reloading takes ages. He has no map pressure so gens fly by and has simple counterplay of throwing pallets earlier. Not to mention the fact that effects of his gas can be completely prevented by just looking behind you and look out where he throws the bottles. Sure, by doing so you somewhat deny them the loop even though sometimes survivors don’t even care and make it work anyways, there is more than enough safe pallets on the map to run you around for quite some time.
Then there is the fact that there simply is a better alternative killer, that being snare Freddy. He doesn’t have to reload his snares and can use them on the spot, has the same effect and the snares are less visible and thus in my eyes more useful as people would run into them easier. With Freddy in the game there is not even a point using Clown in my opinion.

I too think trapper has some really good potential (I’ve watched Otzdarva) but if survivors hear you put down that trap they can easily run and make distance
0 -
ive seen some good leather faces and I can say he’s one of the funnest characters to go against (I don’t have him so I wouldn’t know)
1 -
I love playing as and against him (when the LF doesn’t camp)
0 -
I’m not saying clown is S tier, maybe like low C or high D but Doctor can’t do much unless you’ve mastered timing and all, and legion literally just plays tag with survivors
0 -
I just wished that they’d buff him because I love The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and think he’s a little cutie :(
0 -
Clown in a speedo would indeed be quite scary..
XD
0 -
Yeah, that’s exactly my point. I never said these killers were great or anything near good, I just pointed out that when ignoring their downsides and these killers would be amazing too. To me Clown is a fat D tier but that’s just my opinion and experience I had playing with him.

i am happy too! >:c
now we need the devs to agree on that topic aswell! >:c
1 -
I would gladly agree with your idea, along with a shirtless Myers >:c
0 -
i'd run faster than ever with THAT behind me xD
0 -
well, you should definitely not place that trap down at all loops, you have a maximum of 5 in hand (with double bag add ons), 1 by default, so you want to use it wisely. use that trap when they found "infinites" (not literal infinites, but very strong loops, like the shack or cowtree). this will immediately force them to leave the loop and run into the open, which is more beneficial to you than they running circless around this window + pallet spot.

yes! YES!
we NEED this! >:c

If there's a dedicated Clown main in this thread: What's the fastest the Clown can down a survivor (without pinky finger) if said survivor runs away in a straight line or doesn't/can't loop? How much time do the bottles actually save in that situation?
