Game held hostage

So I just spent nearly an hour looking around the map for the last 2 survivors (P3 Blendettes IIRC from the lobby screen). There were 2 gens left to do and I couldn't find them anywhere. No cawing crows, no on screen notifications and they weren't doing any gens. After 25 minutes I actually went to get a drink and a sandwich, was away maybe 7-8 minutes and not only had a single gen not been done, but they hadn't even been touched as none of the pistons were moving at all from when I damaged them earlier.

I then went round the map again, looked in nearly every locker (including the basement), stood on top of one of those hilly areas hoping I could see one urban evading but nope, went around the entire edge of the map... Still nothing! Put the controller down and just went on my phone for a bit whilst listening for any audible notifications... NOTHING! In the end I left the match... I then got abuse off them for being a "EZ Baybee killah"

I think it'd be good if the killer could open an exit gate at any time if xx minutes have passed since the last time a gen was completed, forcing the start of the EGC. The EGC was supposed to stop hatch stand offs and survivors hanging around and holding the game hostage once the gates were opened. However, if the gens aren't done you can't open the gate meaning the EGC won't start and the game can STILL be held hostage! But like I say, some sort of timer would be needed to stop killers opening the gate 30 seconds after the game starts

    I agree with you.

I had this happen to me. Unfortunately, I hadn't unlocked Whispers on that killer, so once I realized they weren't gonna touch gens I just began looking in areas specifically away from the gens where survivors might hide. I found them around the edge of the map, hiding together. They were probably hoping I'd DC so they could get the extra points from the Gruesome Gateau I'd burned while screwing me out of my own points. What they didn't count on was how freaking stubborn I am.

Crap like that is why I consider Whispers to basically be necessary on any killer. You never know when you'll face that situation. Of course it happened to me the one time I couldn't equip the perk.

Another time, when I was playing survivor, after I died I spectated as the last two survivors hid around the unopened hatch, without a key, instead of working on gens. After watching the killer unsuccessfully search for them for a while, I sent the killer a message and told him exactly where to find them. The killer thanked me. I laughed as they both died.

If survivors don't work on the objective for a certain amount of time and you're unable to start the EGC, I'm pretty sure it's considered holding the game hostage. Report it. Back before the EGC, I had a survivor hide around the map instead of working on a gen to try to spawn the hatch. I was doing Adept Nurse, so it took me a long time to find her. I killed her with extreme prejudice and immediately reported her. BHVR seemed to take the ticket seriously. Just remember to report them in-game and submit a ticket. BHVR may also need video proof, but I dunno, 'cause a lot of people can't do that. I play on the PS4, so it was easy for me to provide video.

I had the same problem. My idea is that the longer the game goes the easier it is to get crows - to the point you cant get rid of them. Or the longer it was since last gen was completed. Something like that. So survivors can't keep the game hostage.

I never encounter this personally; I have like some game sense ######### and I'm able to tell where survivors are, to the point I spend more time chasing them then actually looking for them. (I suck at running gyms though)

From what I've seen when it happens to others though it sucks.

It happens mostly in lower ranks, where survivors are too afraid to do anything and cant loop killer at all. Not common, but once it happens it's really annoying.

If they are not even trying to complete an objective then it (iirc) is considered holding the game hostage.

I prefer if the Killer can somehow trigger the EGC after a certain time.
