Are Killers allowed to use NOED now?
I've noticed - or, at least, think I've noticed - a neat thing recently. NOED seems to be losing it's negative connotation as a perk for baby killers for a guaranteed win.
I think the reason so many people are chainging their mindset is because of the additional realization that gen times go too fast, not that survivors are rushing gens. Therefore, people are seeing that NOED is just there for the A- tier killers that can't keep up, but don't like using Ruin.
So this thread is just asking/ putting up the topic for discussion - if Killers start using NOED again, will survivors still be getting on their butts in after game chat?

People will still get mad about NOED
All killers have to do is to not care
51 -
It's always been allowed its just looked down on.
Like how killers look down on perks like ds, adrenaline and some exhaustion perks.
15 -
A lot of people still use NOED, I don't understand where you got the idea that people don't use it that much anymore.
If NOED is for weak killers, why are nurse, spirit and billy are allowed to use it?
2 -
Yes. The survivors Kindly decided that NOED is allowed now. Since we don't have a spine, and we need other people to decide what we can or cannot do, we now can run NOED.
7 -
You can use it. It's on killers use or not a killer's perk. It's different if if was a survivor's perk. In that case devs used to nerf them
0 -
Wait, was there any rule that you cannot use noed?
0 -
Afaik the only thing to ever have a rule against it was Legion blades months ago. :/
5 -
NOED is still a broken perk that rewards killers for losing the game.
It should be reworked.
13 -
If you've turned in your essay on why you should be allowed to use NoED and you got an email back saying you passed then yes, you're allowed to use NoED in that case.
4 -
It's a comeback perk if the killer struggled, and a perk to increase endgame difficulty in general. I'd say adrenaline is just as bs

While NOED rewards killers for not doing their objective of stopping survivors from completing generators and killing them, perks like Adrenaline reward survivors for completing their objective. When playing survivor, why should they be punished for completing their objective? I think that because NOED is causing such a divide in the community, it should be looked at by the devs. I’m not suggesting a hard nerf to it, but something that satisfies both sides and makes it SEEM less like a “handholding crutch perk” and more of a utility perk that is fair and balanced.
Someone suggested to me the other day that NOED still remain a hex perk, but at the beginning of the match it is designated to ONE totem on the map which appears dull until the exit gates are powered. At this point, if the dull totem still remains, NOED activates and becomes lit.
5 -
Then it becomes too situational.

Killers have choose between making a build for snow-balling (with Ruin or other slow down perks) or a build to cover their endgame (with NOED holding it up).
Even then, NOED can be disabled before it can even come into play. It's extremely underpowered, if anything.
Adrenaline, though, survivors equip it and they have something that is useful regardless of what's happening. Even if you Urban evaded around the map the whole game, thus not contributing in any way to the completion of the objective (doing generators), you still get it.
The argument about NOED being a '2nd-chance perk' for killers has been done to death, and survivors keep losing it.
2 -
Wearing a lifejacket before jumping off a sinking ship is not rewarding you for failing to keep the ship afloat. It’s a backup tool in case of disaster. Hex: NOED Is meant to be a “lifejacket” perk, in case everything goes wrong and generator rushing screws you over.
By your logic, aren’t generator-activated Killer perks broken because they reward Killers for losing a generator?
5 -
Using NOED is forbidden under ANY circumstances as of this time according to the official Survivor's rulebook. (Have you not seen Samination's video parody? ;))
4 -
@Acromio since when ruin is for snowball LuL, for snowball are perks like infecious fright, dev hope, even noed is snowbally
you dont know what snowball in dbd is xd
ruin is giving you time, but buying time and snowball =/= xd same with other slowdown perks xd (maybe thana is kinda snowbally but thats all)
and why did you difference snowball with endgame? you should rather make earlygame perks and endgame xd

The fact that any sad little thing in human skin bitches and whines about which perks you use in DBD on both sides is hilarious in it’s own sad way- use whatever the hell you want to your black hearts content Xx
1 -
You know.. using the "right" combination of Insidious, NOED, Franklins Demise and Knock out I get at least one survivor DC every match.. I don't understand :'( They say this combination is "unfair"

Makes your blood boil, eh? Xx

The reactions are hilarous, you can't imagine :))

Preach it ^.~ Xx

Survivors, complain and discuss over NOED, also survivors, don't heal or cleanse against Plague the entire game.
2 -
Game isn't over till all four survivors escape or die. NOED is usually active for about as long as Haunted Grounds in my experience, but you don't any people complaining about that perk.
Recommend running Remember Me / Blood Warden / NOED / whatever perk you want just to see how powerful investing in the lategame is, especially if you play well normally.
0 -
Then run blood warden, because if you needed an insta-down perk which also gives a speed boost, then you aren’t in the right rank
0 -
It’s because with NOED you wouldn’t know it’s a thing until you’re downed and facecamped with it to secure a kill while Haunted Grounds tells everyone that you’re exposed

But... but... it's in the survivor rule book... :(
6 -
And the only (!) rule in the killer's rulebook is to:
#1 Do not give a f* about the survivor's rulebook.
8 -
There is no change of minds. Why telling lies?
1 -
I'm just playing around when I mentioned the survivor rule book, y'all don't need to follow da rules :)
2 -
Why do the devs don't put it in the Tutorial section of the game ;) (Maybe on April fool's day) xD
2 -
That would be awesome! :D
That means I don't have to cleanse totems anymore! Can't wait!

The 42nd edition of The Rule Book was updated to reflect this change in attitude.

Understandably so, but looking at all the perks in the game, many of them are situational as well. We could take a look at the controversial yet popular Decisive Strike for instance. It’s extremely situational because if the killer doesn’t down and pick up the survivor within a minute if being unhooked, then it doesn’t become useful to the survivor who ran it and wastes a perk slot. Another situational perk is Deliverance. If a survivor doesn’t activate the perk before they get hooked then it becomes as useful as an empty perk slot.

It deals with smart ass survivors who think it's funny to teabag the killer making out they are godnor something and then say GG ez. Even then I have seen a few survivors who think will hide in lockers majority of the match and then still have the audacity to say GG ez when they spent most of there play time in a bloody locker.

put entries of the survivor rulebook in the archives, that would be awesome XD

If we want to meet the satisfactions of the whole community, I propose changes such as making Adrenaline only activate if the survivor has reached the second hook stage and also make he changes the I NOED in my original comment.
I feel like one of the biggest issues with this game at the moment is the fact that the meta isn’t changing because there are old perks that are still extremely powerful and it doesn’t leave any room for new perks to take their place.

You are absolutely wrong, the killers main objective is not to stop genes from being completed, that's the secondary objective. The main objective of killers is obviously to kill survivors.... it's kinda in the name. Until survivors escape, only then will the killers have failed in their objective and anything up until that point is still part of the game.
1 -
Do bones
1 -
Alright, I see where you are coming from. However, if the killer can effectively and efficiently stop survivors from working on generators, then survivors cannot progress their own objective and cannot escape. This is why I believe that successful killers focus on pushing survivors off of gens first then going for survivors. I’m a strong advocate for Pop goes the weasel as it allows a massive regression of the survivors objective.

Use whatever perks you want. I can see NOED being annoying against solo survivors (I like doing 4 totems, and just got hit by NOED at the end), but it's a perk, like any other perks in this game. If someone is salty about it, just ignore it.
0 -
Use what you like, there is far to many strong opinions from both survivor and killer in what they can and can't do, What is fair, what is not etc. Play the game how you want to play it, if you don't like opinions in the end game chat, you can always turn them off or just say GG and leave. If you on console, change your privacy options.

NOED has always been fine. I can't help but think the complaints are dying down since the ST chapter came out as there is of course a perk now which rewards cleansing totems and gives a fast heal.
It's amazing how a mindset can change when someone now feels rewarded for doing something that they really should have done all along.
2 -
I think enough people have complained about it to be changed, and not getting any results... So now they're finally accepting to just get around it.
Of course, we'll still get some stragglers who post about it now and again... DEMANDING! a nerf or something.
Sadly guys, its not going to happen...

I don't know, I always get rage messages (rank 8 right now) for using NOED (Xbox), people don't get that I play for the pips, I break stuff, take my time, use portals every now and then (Demogorgon) to get BP in all "activities" you must take part on, and then, the end game begins, NOED + Remember me + Blood warden. Even though it's a strategy and not a "last resourse" people just don't get it
0 -
Correction. It's in the ENTITLED survivor rulebook.
Some of us actually don't care what you use or what you do as long as people don't actually cheat (and i mean literally cheating, not using a certain perk/addon/blah blah). Some of us accept the hand we are dealt each game and work around it because that is PART of the game.
So use NOED to your hearts content, and I'll keep making use of small game (highly underrated) and maps :)

I agree 100%, if a killer can prevent their secondary objective from being completed then that means their primary objective is pretty much guaranteed. Yet there are some obvious issues with some killers not have any sort of way to pressure good survivors which in turn creates our issue, gen rushing.
1 -
They’ve been allowed to run it. I’m a survivor and it’s been fine.

Let's see in the survivors rule book for Killers...
4 -
DS is still a second chance perk for survivors that either don't wait to unhook when it's safe or for survivors that don't know how to properly escape. Same goes for Borrowed Time.
Adrenaline is still a broken perk that can easily reward you for messing up , just because your team mates did the objectives.
Dead Hard rewards you for messing up your loops.
Four survivor perks that can all reward you for messing up. So what are you complaining about? And if the perks are not enough don't forget your insta heal :P
0 -
No. Killer are NEVER allowed to use perks they want, even though they're easily countered!
