A few ideas from a player on both sides (Killer and Survivor)
First off, I had an idea for addons and offerings that just fill up inventory space. If there was a way to "return to essence" these addons/offerings for a portion of BP back, I think that would be an incredibly useful QoL update. I think more BP for everyone would be nice, and this just feels like something that would make DBD a better game, if only a little bit (it wouldn't be called "selling" cuz you don't sell to the Entity!).
Next up, I have a confession to make. I play both Survivor and Killer, but I clearly see that the game is tilted in survivors favor the higher your rank. When I play Killer, survivors can get a ton of distance in just a few seconds with things like vaults or pallets (even when they don't stun me!). My idea to make games just a little more even is to make the run speed of survivors just a bit slower. This would make looping less effective and chases end just a bit sooner. Overall, I don't think it would completely break the game, as survivors have plenty of tools to run Killers around and escape, but I think it would promote hiding from a Killer more and lessen the confidence of the players who run right up to a Killer and try to provoke them in a chase (read: less toxicity). Playing Killer makes you feel powerless, and I think that making survivors have to play smarter would be nice.
Now, to people who think I'm a filthy Killer sympathizer, I will also recommend a heavy nerf to Killers who camp. Whether it just be a loss of BP or in-game debuffs, I think there should be more to dissuade Killers from camping than just gens being worked on. My idea for this is that the Entity slowly blocks the view of the Killer as he/she looks at a hooked survivor (unless another survivor is also in his/her FOV) and also dampens their hearing. The Killers aura can be shown to everyone in a short area, and the Kindred perk makes that area larger (I'm thinking like 6m passive). You could obviously do something else, but I just think this should be addressed, as the game rewards Killers who camp more than they reward Killers who go after their next kill.
Allowing survivors to play in first person would be nice (especially if it was implemented that as they work on an objective, like a gen, they could switch back). I think it would be fun for people looking to actually be scared by a Killer, and liven up the gameplay a little.
I think a fun way to equalize players who solo and those who play SWF would be to allow VC in-game to survivors, but there's a catch: the farther away you are, the quieter your voice. This would allow all players to trade info, but only if they run into each other. You wouldn't be able to tell your friend that you are slugged by the Killer shack with Knockout (a perk completely useless against SWF) but if they found you, you can let them know that you saw the Hex totem for Ruin inside the Shack. BUT THERE'S ANOTHER CATCH! The Killer is also able to hear survivors. To avoid harassment and taunting, I think the Killer will only be able to hear voices, but not what they are saying. So, if a sneaky Killer sneaks up to a couple of talking survivors, he won't know what they are saying or what they know, but it will help him find them. This is one that I definitely want feedback on, what do you think of this?
I have an idea for new modes. I think an unranked version of DBD where everyone can only use their personal perks and the perks that are available to all characters at the start. This would make character choice much more important, and it would make it so people of different ranks could play together and not too much would change (other than raw skill, there would be little difference between 2 Nea's). This would allow for people of higher ranks to get faster games and allow new players to play without too much to lose. I think it should still reward players with BP.
Another mode that I've heard of a TON is double Killer mode. Balancing this would be even more impossible than DBD currently is to balance (asymmetrical gameplay is hard), but I still think it would be worth a shot. If you actually implemented the in-game VC, it would be really fun to tell another Killer which gens you think are important to defend. I think some maps that are bit small shouldn't work in this mode, but plenty of maps are massive enough that they could fit this mode. Obviously, there should also be more survivors/pallets, but should there also be more gens? 3-4 exit gates? I know it's asking for a lot, but this would be one of the most fun game modes ever. I can't help but think about how fun it would be.
About the above, I have thought of a couple ways this can be implemented without completely breaking the game/ making the devs cry themselves to sleep. Perhaps as either Legion or Ghostface, there can be 2 different versions, one that can solo and one that can't (and you have to play with the same kind of Killer). If there are 2 Ghostfaces, their stealth mode only makes their terror radius smaller, and stalking would only leave some kind of status effect that isn't exposed. With Legion, they have to hit a survivor several times to down him or her, and completely remove the whole mending thing. So, you're left with a couple of M1 killers, one who is a little sneaky and one who can get some extra speed for a short time. Add-ons would not work, and I don't know how perks would fit. I think that deciding which perks show aura to both killers and which ones only show to one would be important. BBQ to both, but I'm All Ears only to the one who activated it?
Another way to implement a system without allowing it for all Killers would be to add a Killer who makes one survivor a traitor. By making them go insane, threatening their families, or awakening their inner Killer, this mastermind would be able to make the first person killed into a second Killer. This second killer would not have any perks, and only be able to M1 (no special ability) but obviously would still be incredibly helpful. Movespeed would either be changed to standard for killer, or slightly slower (like Huntress). Of course, this relies on a killed player actually trying to help the person who murdered them, so it might not work well. The Mastermind killer would also have other minor abilities, but nothing too crazy. A different way to play this would be that 2 players queue up, say a necromancer and a Zombie, and the zombie is just a weak perkless killer and the necromancer is a weak killer with some other ability (and possibly both can share any auras shown?). The Zombie/Traitor would be stunned for longer periods, and breaking things would take a bit longer. I'm also wondering if perhaps they could be affected by perks that the main killer brings, such as Agitation or Brutal Strength. I think, strangely, that this is the most likely of the 3, and it would fit into your schedule for new chapters (on the months that you don't have a DLC already planned). What do you all think?
I wrote a lot more than I was expecting, but I really think that DBD is growing and becoming a better game, and that it can become even bigger with time. Keep up the great work, and thank you for such a great game! 😁👍️

Survivor slower ? No. This would literally ######### up the entire game and most of mechanics.
I also play both sides and I'm red rank on both.

WOW A RED RANK THAT'S SO HARD TO GET! And the game is far too loop-heavy the "mechanics'" you're mentioning make the game worse, imo. Making the survivors a little slower would make it more necessary to hide, play smart, instead of allowing a single survivor to buy a massive amount of time. There are plenty of pallets, speed perks, and mindgames that would still make a chase take a decent amount of time, but this would make running away in a straight line take 10 seconds to down instead of, say, 15-20. Maybe it would make SWF survivors actually try to sneak and avoid killer instead of running up to them to try and distract them. So, yea, in my opinion, "######### up the entire game" would make it much better than it is currently, because idk if you can tell or not but Dbd isn't in a great place and that's because of the killer-bullying model.
