Smithing Shop in Dead by Daylight
Introduction
Since when the game has been released in its beta, we still have no other way for obtaining items or add-ons, except for the good ol' farming chests with plunder's instinct and/or BP farming for the bloodweb.
Today, me and a friend of mine thought of a smithing system. Probably the devs have already thought about it and considered this idea, but still, i wanted to tell you guys about my ideas.
How does it work?
Its kinda simple, basically:
Do you want items for your survivor? Mix up those common/uncommon items into a rare item. Do you have a broken key but you want something else? Again, its simple, break it and create a Dull or a Skeleton key.
I personally thought of 2 ways to craft your new items.
1) Mix up 2 to 3 items to get a better one.
2) Break items/add-ons to get materials/bloodpoints and spend those currencies for new items/add-ons.
I wrote down some examples below, all based on what i thought could be some good mix ups.
Examples
Heyo, firstly, thank you for coming down here and checking out this guide.
Quick reference for those who are new to the game:
Common are brown items.
Uncommon are yellow items.
Rare are green items.
Very Rare are purple items.
Ultra Rare are red items.
Event are orange items.
Mixing Up Smithing System:
Example n°1 - Uncommon Flashlight + Common Battery = Rare Flashlight.
Example n°2 - Common Medkit + Butterfly Tape (common) + Bandages (common) = Uncommon Medkit.
Example n°3 - Rare Map + Black Silk Cord (rare) + Yellow Wire (uncommon) = Ultra Rare Map.
Example n°4 - Broken Key (rare) + Prayer Beads (uncommon) + Scratched Pearl (uncommon) = Dull Key (very rare).
Example n°5 - Spark Plug (common) + Spark Plug (common) = Primer Bulb (uncommon).
Example n°6 - Dirty Uwabaki (rare) + Muddy Sports Day Cap (uncommon) = Mother-Daughter Ring (ultra rare)
Breaking and Creating Smithing System:
Breaking a common item could provide something like 50 Materials or 1000 Bloodpoints.
Breaking an uncommon item could provide something like 100 Materials or 3000 Bloodpoints.
Breaking a Rare item could provide something like 300 Materials or 4000 Bloodpoints.
Breaking a Very Rare item could provide something like 600 materials or 5000 Bloodpoints.
Breaking an Ultra Rare item could provide something like 1200 materials or 6000 Bloodpoints.
Creating an item basically costs 50% more the amount you get if you would break an item of that same rarity.
Example n°1 - Breaking a Rare item gives 300 Materials. Creating a Rare item instead costs 450 Materials.
Example n°2 - Breaking an Ultra Rare item gives 1200 Materials. Creating it would instead cost 1800 Materials.
Conclusion
This is basically how i would make a smithing system inside of this game.
I thank you all again for reading this until here. Let me know in the comments what you think about this idea.
