Nintendo Switch: Graphics

Are there graphics of the survivors/killers supposed to be this whack? Legitimate inquiry; not intending to be mean or disrespectful. I knew this wasn't going to be PC HD 4K, but I wasn't expecting N64-ish low rez. Or worse than F13 The Game. Was hoping it would be more akin to Skyrim or Doom.

So is this a bug ... or working as intended?

Thx.

The Game is pretty badly optimized. The lower graphics are most likely purposeful downgrades to make the game run better on the switch and take up less memory.

The problem is play more than 1 hour make many bugs, graphic bugs, and the game itself become slower, less framerates. This force me many times close and open again DbD for refresh the state of the game.

Agreed. Restarting the game results in SLIGHTLY better graphics, but barely.

Sounds like they just have some optimization to work on.

It's due to the Switch files for everything being cut in half, which results in the graphics being below average and badly optimized... This was to cut back on taxing against the Switch, so it could run at a decent FPS during online play.

If they released the full game to the Switch, which has a hard time already running official nintendo titles like Breath of the Wild, than it would've been giving Switch players something like 10 FPS, due to how the Switch handles their library in-general.

Ever since todays Update with the Blight and new map, I downloaded the update on The Nintendo Switch and the graphics are almost N-64 quality, and it doesn't look good, it's missing a lot of detail that it had yesterday. I've restarted my system 3 times, switched my SD cards even, still nothing. Is this a bug? And if so, is this being worked on? The sound isn't working right either while playing the game during this issue. It makes the game much more difficult.

There's currently a bug that causes the Switch to display in handheld mode resolution while docked. If you remove the Switch from the dock (with the game loaded), then reinsert it after a few seconds, it should display properly.
